  • hmmm...I didn't realize I was putting a burden on anyone. I'm not saying they can't keep their priorities straight, I'm just saying that friends are our closes allies and if they hurt you, it will last. Or something like that, I'm not really good at explaining things :P
  • Hahaha that's a nice quote. I'm sort of making this because I've been so hurt by these people I called friends. It was just going to be a personal thing, but I kind of like it so I'm going to finish it out.
  • you might want to up the cals if you exercise. 1200 is too low for anyone really because you start to starve yourself and then you'll plateau, which will really suck. I like to do the cal zig-zag method. It helps keep me motivated by changing it up every day.
  • you are most likely not eating enough cals. I only exercise about 30 min a day and need like 1700-1800 cals for my daily goal. try finding a daily cal intake calc (google) to find your recommended daily amount.
  • haha! i didnt think that anybody actually paid attention to them anymore since Justin Bieber came into the picture. He seriously stole their thunder
  • I actually made a toner for my face out of ACV and it works great. Lemon sounds like a good thing to use too. Thanks:smile:
  • Okay. Well, first off, 1200 is not enough cals for you, especially if you exercise. It is only a minimum requirement and you should try finding a calc to decide your daily cal goal based on various factors (try Google-ing "daily calorie intake calculator"). Also, to stick to your cal goal, you really should eat back enough…
  • Wow I had no idea that Dr. Oz would do something like that. I always thought he was the kind of doctor that could be trusted (probably just because Oprah praised him though now that I think about it:tongue: )
  • I don't thInk overcooking was the prob because the granola wasn't brittle. In fact, it was very soft and chewy which is what I was aiming for in texture, but not to the point where they fall apart completly.
  • Well, i had a whole bunch of blood tests done this summer (for some med probs) and my iron was a fine level, just slightly low. Everyone in my fam does it, especially my mom so its not like it's the easiest habit to break. So does anybody have any advice for alternatives to munching ice? I tried a popsicle earlier but all…
  • I know my PMS symptoms usually start about then and since your exercising more, you might start craving a bunch of food (that's usually what cravings are, a sign that you need more energy to prepare for your TOM) so when you say you crave stuff, that might be why. Just an idea!
  • Is that a scientific fact? Or are you just giving your opinion? I'm curious because there is some controversy over this issue. Like, I heard it's ok to eat after X o'clock, as longs as it isn't anything heavy. Just curious if anyone has anymore to add to this.
  • You should not eat 2-3 hours before going to sleep, even if you think you are eating sensibly. Yes, it can affect your weight loss because you do not burn as efficiently in your sleeping hours v. your waking hours. Try to eat a good, big breakfast before school and eat snacks throughout the day between classes. Also,…
  • The recipe was: • 4 1/2 cups rolled oats • 2/3 cup butter or oil • 1/2 cup honey • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed ...and then I baked it for 20 min. on 325 deg. Also, I cut the recipe in half, just in case it wasn't good, but I don't think that would do anything to affect the outcome. They were sweet…
  • Also, you prob need to exercise more like 3-5 times a week.
  • You might not have a big enough goal. What's your daily cal intake goal?
  • You def need to eat more than 1200 cals if you are exercising that much. Not eating enough will put you into starvation mode (which is real) and you could be holding onto fat. Also, it's not like the weight will dissappear magically, give it time, but I also recommend a higher cal intake!!!! I exercise everyday and my…
  • You might say that, but it could cause you to have serious probs. Try planning out your meals and eating them small and frequent because our body can process that a lot easier than large meals and we need to replenish our food energy every 3-5 hours. I definately don't agree with MFP's cal deficit, it's way to low to the…
  • I think that's a load of bull. Another poster also talked about how her personal experience sent her into starvation mode and she gained a bunch of weight. Starvation mode was something I learned in freakin' Junior High. It's health class 101 people. Not eating enough will make your body want to hold on to any extra fat…
  • it could also be the TYPE of food you eat. So even though MFP has you losing the weight, they don't account for the "healthiness" of the food consumed. Try to eat smart choices and MFP puts you in the extreme minimum as I'm finding out, which def won't help you lose weight.
  • bump... I wouldn't recommend changing it. I say that should be a fine amount of cals but def don't drop them especially since you exercise. You could run yourself ragged not getting the right amt of cals. Try making sure your net cals (total cals eaten-cals burned) equal 1600 and don't go too over or too under. Of course,…
  • It might not be as bad if your sugars come from a healthy source. However, you could try fruits that are low in sugar like raspberries or strawberries and cut out things like starbucks. It could be easier to try to make your own lattes and smoothies (and less expensive). Plus, this way you know what goes into your food.
  • If you are really concerned, then you definately need to consult a doc because drinking all of that sugar definately isn't good for you. Maybe try eating your sugars from healthy sources, like making your own fruit smoothie with fruits that have a good amount of sugar like bananas. Hope this helps you out
  • bump... So true. Too many people worry about losing insane amounts of weight (which is probably why fad diets are so popular) instead of making healthy choices for life. You can't always make yourself eat a lot less and exercise a bunch for the rest of your life, so instead focus on "dieting" the "right way" because your…
  • Actually, if you wash your face right after you exercise, then sweat shouldn't be a problem. Actually, sweat helps to detox your system, so technically, it should help the breakouts. I actually had a prob w/ worse breakouts after I started taking apple cider vinegar. I was detoxing through my face so I would get insane…
  • Maybe you could try researching online to find natural ways to treat your skin problem. I made my own toner out of apple cider vinegar and green tea and it works great. There are plenty of sites that could have a list of herbs, plants, and even fruits that could help your type of skin. Also, you can try just googling…
  • I actually tried max clarity and it did work for me some. The only problem I had is that sometimes I had more severe breakouts and it dried my skin out a lot. I instead switched to a more natural product called "Derma-e" and it works wonders. Also, I have made my own toner to go along with it and all of this helps keep my…
  • You mean posts like the one you put here? You criticize others and yet you posted this very thread into the "Introduce Yourself" forum. If you are going to complain about something, make sure you think about it first.
  • Some people may not want to go to other social networks. Plus, this is a site where everyone is trying to get into a healthier lifestyle, so everyone is, so to speak, in the same boat. It's nice to talk to people you can relate to. If you have such a problem with it, then this isn't the site for you.
  • For exercise cals added, you should eat them to make sure your net cals line up with your daily goal. As for your "just sitting" cals, you shouldn't eat those because that is already factored into your BMR.
