I add in zucchini or carrots  sometimes spinach, once in a while lettuce, depends on what is sitting in the fridge, but zucchini and carrots are usually my go-to vegetables for just about everything - shakes, desserts, overnight oatmeal...

you would have to really really like boiled eggs... sadly I do not... “I will not eat them in a house I will not eat them with a mouse I will not eat them in a box I will not eat them with a fox I will not eat them here or there I will not eat them anywhere" ― Dr. Seuss, Green Eggs and Ham :s

Eat more veggies :) and cook at home more (like all of the time now)

I had the same problem and I disconnected and reconnected and now it is working

An A1C of 5.4 is normal, not prediabetic (and nothing to meh about  )- also the blood sugars you report all sound perfectly normal. Type 2 Diabetes runs in my family and I was metformin/insulin dependent for 10+ years before I lost the weight. Now I watch what I eat and exercise regularly and get A1C numbers of 5.4…

I'm coming up on my third year of tracking :) For me, it's not something I mind doing and it helps me focus on what I am eating. There are days I blast past my goal and on vacations/holidays, I just quick add some absurd number of calories and let it go... It's really about finding out what works for you...

I have the same problem :)

For me, it is hard boiled eggs and mayo... never liked either since childhood...

I was the same way about vegetables now I practically roast everything - mushrooms, carrots, onions, radishes, asparagus, artichokes, green beans - even potatoes

This :) I was 350lbs and awesome ... I loved myself no matter what I weighed and I was heavy most of my adult life. I lost the weight not because I was miserable, but I started having problems getting around. So I lost almost 200 lbs and guess what I still love myself the same amount - not any more or less than I did…

in love with the duck :)

I don't want to buy a new wardrobe again :) (went from a size 26/26 to a size 4/6 = so lots of clothes were replaced along the way) so I am really motivated to stay the size I am currently and maintenance is way harder than I would have thought

I won't give up coffee and red meat and alcohol :) ever Food I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole - any kind of boiled eggs

Packing for trips is a totally fun experience every time. I marvel about how much I can fit in a carry on sized suitcase now. Being amazed at the "tiny" clothes when I do laundry I get the family members/friends comment constantly on what I eat, how they want to lose weight and then order the largest meal at the restaurant…

I'm a type 2 diabetic. I was taking insulin and metformin for over 10 years. Now I just watch my diet - I keep to 40-50% of my day from any carbs and I am off of all medication and A1C is usually around 5.3 -- So watching your diet is key and it definitely can be done. Best of wishes to you.

congrats!

it varies from person to person - I'm in my 40s and lost 180+ lbs after being heavy all of my adult life. I never really considered surgery as the risks outweigh the benefits for me. So what if I can't wear bikinis and short shorts... at 340+ lbs I wasn't wearing those anyway. And if you love me, you love my body and…

I'd say go get it checked out with your doctor. I had the most regular period in the world my entire life and then it was off and on while I was losing the weight. It totally stopped when I went into maintenance. I asked my GP about it and they said it was likely weight loss related (as I lost a lot of weight 150+ lbs) but…

I started having back pain when just walking down the block - the thought of not even being able to walk around without being in pain is what finally spurred me to make a change...
-
I've done both ways - where I just measure the whole thing and set the servings to the total weight (for feeding other people). Or I am obsessive enough to weigh out equally sized servings (generally if I am the only one eating or saving meals for another time)

I use them pretty much anywhere you use pumpkins - you can roast them, make them into fries, mix with oatmeal, use in chili and soups, make pie -- they are pretty versatile and you can go on either savory or sweet depending on your mood

I kept the coffee - ditched the creamer - I now use the sugar free syrups from Torani and drink it with no milk. Adding creamer nowadays actually makes my coffee taste like dessert - go figure. But coffee itself didn't hinder my weight loss  I don't know what I would have done if I had to give up coffee
-
You are not alone - I seem to be thinking about food all of the time, researching recipes, calculating calorie counts, shopping and researching food - I have been on maintenance for a year now and I am trying to wean back - it is starting to get a little better, now I just have to work on eating my way through my house…

Thanks everyone :)

almost all restaurants have options for people who are watching what they eat (and I am not talking about salad) :) I don't generally drink while out on a date as it generally involves me driving - just enjoy yourself
-
Everyone looks amazing :D
-
the veggies themselves sound fine - it depends on what you cook them with - oil/butter/cheese. etc. Those can rack up calories quickly
-
I didn't want to be thin :) I wanted to be healthy when I started - but I also hoped to lose enough weight to get down to at least a size 16 to get out of the plus sizes. - well I ended up passing that goal -- I had never actually been a slim fit adult before (started gaining weight as a teenager) so I am enjoying it and I…

Hi, I saw your forum post and I just wanted to offer you some encouragement. 2 years ago, I weighed 340, was taking 70 units of insulin twice a day along with a boatload of metformin. I was eating loads of carb heavy foods and was unable to manage my diabetes effectively. My doctor finally sent me to some diabetes…

are you vegetarian? meat would be the most logical choice for a protein source otherwise I am on maintenance and my settings are set for about that much protein - but I eat 1800 calories a day
