Thank you everyone for all the great insight I started using the GNC brand 1000 mg l-carnitine and I see a significant increase in my energy level which I needed due to chronic fatigue. I see how this could increase energy expenditure which would probably result in more calories burn each day. Trying to stay within my…

I just got a food scale!!! I'm hoping that'll help
-
Maybe I should use a food scale?
-
Here's a photo with the same outfit on to get a better view of the difference

I think there might be some inaccuracies in my food logging. I will definitely be looking into getting a scale! Also I've been retaining water so I probably also have to cut back on the sodium.
-
I just get so impatient with the numbers I'm sure I'm not alone on that! Lol
-
Yes it seems to be the average. Would I need to consume less like around 1200 to get a 2lb per week loss?
-
I might add that using my fit bit I make sure to burn at least 500 calories or more during workouts and I do not eat back those calories. What gives? I need the scale to move!
-
How can I get the scale to go down more? I eat my allotted calories 1400 and I exercise 5 days a week doing mostly cardio and some strength
-
Thank you
-
No just staying within my calorie goal as best as I can
-
According to the scale only 27lbs but I'm guessing it could be muscle too because I've been doing step aerobics and Zumba as well as some arm exercises with my medicine ball. I have limited ability to workout due to an umbilical hernia so I've been mainly doing aerobics
-
Definitely staying within my calorie goal and working out to burn 500 cals or more. Calorie deficit has played a huge part!
-
Keepin on keepin on
-
It certainly feels like more than that and what a difference it has made on my day to day activities!
-
Thank you everyone. I have an umbilical hernia which needs surgery for repair as soon as possible because it is becoming larger. However there are more risks when morbidly obese. I also have gallbladder stones. I'm currently at 265 and was advised to lose as much as possible to undergo surgery.

It happens to me. I retain water real easily and can gain 3-5 lbs in water weight. Drink some green tea and eat some greens that will flush you out!
-
Thank you everyone for the great insight!!!
-
I've been doing mostly home workouts 4 days a week and the gym once a week
-
Yes it's a great alternative but with 3 little boys ages 5 and under it's not always possible for me to get to the pool
-
Not much help from doctors had to find out through my own research
-
Yes but they're not very helpful. One would think a doctor would be knowledgeable in what to do and what to avoid as far as exercise with a hernia. All I was told was to lose 50-100 lbs before surgery. So I started a HIIT type of workout with squats meanwhile my hernia got worse and after some of my own research I find out…

I have over 100lbs to lose and eating that amount of calories with exercise didn't make the scale budge hardly at all it was mostly maintaining the weight I was. It wasn't until I plugged in my lifestyle to be sedentary that I got around 1500 cals. I do however work out 4-6 times a week and have found that the deficit 1500…

I've been under the impression that it could possibly be the carbs making me bloated which is strange because I've really been trying to avoid refined carbs and opt for healthy whole-grain bread or pasta which I have and really small quantities and I limit to maybe one serving a day. Sometimes I'm just really swollen with…
-
Great idea I will definitely do that
-
Went to doctor and it could possibly be digestive issues bloating due to certain foods which I'm trying to figure out exactly what they are so I can avoid them
-
I'm getting results pretty quickly and I don't want to stop now. Eating them back I find slows down my progress. Yes Im impatient but I have over 130lbs to lose. I do try to add low cal foods if I'm still hungry. But to eat the cals back would just slow down the scale and my motivation

Great thread!!! Thanks

I've been trying to steer more towards fruits, fish, tofu, veggies
