  • I did 1 min plank on my hands. It was a struggle because I tried to get in a full push-up around 30s, didn't work. Couldn't go all the way down. Push-ups are evil.
  • @redimock At home we just pour some soya sauce on the eggs and eat, but when traveling we boil them and put them in a container, peirce a hole in them (the size of a chopstick),then pour some soya sauce on them. Ideally, I like to dip, but on the road that could get messy! Have a great trip and safe travels!
  • Sorry if I'm about to say things that have already been said. I'm on my phone and haven't read all the other posts. Your situation resonated with me because you sound like how I was before I began the Keto diet. I had GD too. I gained 50lbs with my first and 10 lbs with my second. I was worried that I'd feel miserable…
  • I have a ton of bone broth and I use it for soups or just for flavouring. I choose whichever generic "homemade beef/chicken/pork bone broth" is available on MFP that has the most calories/protein. I gained weight drinking too much broth (and eating all the yummy bits of meat that come off of the bone or the marrow) one…
  • I went on a short road trip that made me drive 5-6 hours a day for 3 days. I stayed with my sister but they hardly easy may and they eat a lot of rice. I packed enough food for meals there too. I brought pickles, cheese curds (they're so salty and deliciously squeaky!), salami wrapped with cream cheese, celery, boiled eggs…
  • That's very true @klkateri. I had gestational diabetes and had to inject insulin 3 times a day and measure blood sugar 5 times a day. That was awful, but in the end, I had a healthy baby girl!
  • Really good suggestion @suesuarez! I usually make my meal and then input the data. I've been on MFP for a long time (but not LC) and still can't input my food in 5 min for the entire day. My food bank has about 5 pages full of different foods. I'll try your suggestion tonight :) I think this way of eating is obsessive…
  • You very much do. I came to this post because like @Meseretmoore, I've been doing keto <20-30 g of carbs a day for 5 weeks now and am only down 3lbs. I don't feel anything in my clothes, I do a strenuous karate workout twice a week. I've had side effects like the rash, the prolonged and early period. Having said that, I've…
  • I love your posts @Sunny_Bunny_ .
  • @JessicaLCHF update? Is it gone?
  • @justbreathesrw28 how have you been this month? Period still wonky? I've been reading about how menstral cycles come earlier, are lighter or come more frequently. Haven't read about them not going away though. I'm going into my 5th week on keto. I've had about 5 days of being "period free". Cannot wait for this to end. I…
  • Love this post! A roller coaster perfectly depicts the ups and downs reflected on my scale. It hadn't occurred to me to log the gains but I will now. Great way to see patterns
  • @Phrick No, I didn't know about the brick cheese thing. I'll try it and see how the deli responds. I usually come home and slice it all up. Annoying to slice, annoying to find containers to put it in! School lunches will be the death of me! I'm trying out the bento style now, but damn, it takes time. My kids don't like…
  • I tried it. Got the recipe off of Pinterest. I was disappointed, although, I should have figured that "cloud bread" would taste like I'm eating..well...clouds. It resembled a giant fluffy omelete. I used a recipe that called for almond flour though, so I don't know if that's the same as the oopsie bread or the cloud bread…
  • I'm pretty sure I am although I could be wrong. I'm not usually far under or over on MFP. It's set to 2300. I'm drinking broth, salting my foods. Haven't changed my salt intake since I began 4 weeks ago.
  • You're so right!!
  • I've begun applying coconut oil to the rash areas. God, I hope they stop popping up in other areas. I'll see what happens. Any suggestions on something I can do about the itch?
  • Like washing the area more than once a day? I shower ever day, but I haven't been cleaning the rash more than that. I tried tea tree oil, no effect other than making me nauseated with the smell! I got most of my info from "theketorash" website. Thanks for the tip @KnitOrMiss , aka my saviour! @dietbepsi omg. I did write…
  • Happy Valentine's Day everyone! The kids wanted a movie night, so of course we *had* to order pizza. Smelled so good. Almost had a bite...just one, itty-bitty, bitty nibble, just one... But I didn't! I even said to my husband, "maybe eating the pizza would make my keto rash go away." His response, "wait until tomorrow. Do…
  • Japanese: sashimi, miso soup, ask if they can make yaki-tori (it's just grilled chicken ) without any sauces brushed on; you could convince your friends to have a pot of shabu-shabu (it's a pot of soup and you dip your food into it to cook. you can order extra meat/veggies); ikayaki (grilled squid) Chinese: steam or…
  • It depends on what I've done before. If I go in cold ie no exercise before hand, I can go a minute or a bit more. I usually do it as a set in a warm-up ie jumping Jacks, squats, "push-ups", crunches, then plank, and repeat 2-3 times. At that point, if I planked again, I could only hold for about 10-30s before sharp…
  • @ettaterrell how'd you train yourself to think that way? I need to learn how to stop reacting in the moment. @Sunny_Bunny_ such lovely post for affirmation! I switched all the "you"'s to I's :) @CMYKRGB LOL. I remembered and it got me out of the house. I didn't want to go to karate but I did. Getting my butt kicked in…
  • I'm thankful for the bump otherwise I wouldn't have seen the link!
  • I feel your pain. This is my third week on the keto diet. Got my lovely time of the month 2 weeks early. My cravings hit me significantly harder than usual. I binged on macadamias, almonds, and bacon.
  • Your husband isn't that far off! I was on the 21 Day Fit diet for a year, was exercising at an actual gym from 4-5am, and had a personal trainer for weight training. I felt pretty good, got stronger and lost 30 lbs. It was a struggle though because I was as hungry as a hippo! I also had this attitude like, "I just burned…
  • I feel like I've always had sleep problems. I fall asleep easily but don't stay asleep. I took oral melatonin for a few days with varying dosages and it made me feel drowsy all day. The LCHF diet has stopped that. I sleep now! (We'll, not right at this 5pm moment, but I blame that on my sleeping sick kid who keeps on…
  • LMAO. Is that what I'm feeling? I swore I was giddy because instead of reaching for a carrot I'm a reachin' for some bacon! *chest bump to you all*
  • @alabamaworley89 which group? I looked for one on FB but didn't know which was good. There's a zero carb one there. Not good. The low carb group here is super helpful. @tinat30 did you see the link on the first page ? I may joined them and they've already helped me a bit :)
  • This makes things a lot more simple. I thought I had to hit all my targets in order to keep the 5/20/75 ratio. If I eat my max in carbs and protein, but am lower on fats, I thought it would screw up my body or something because the ratio would be off. I'm nearly always full. I was heavily exercising/weight training a…
