Also read your labels and comparison shop! There can be a big difference from one brand to the next

I feel your pain. Maximize the fresh, unprocessed stuff in your diet, and look at what high sodium foods you're eating. The three big convenience foods I've always allowed myself (cottage cheese, low carb tortillas, and turkey from the deli) are all sodium bombs. So if I'm having a serving of one of these, I avoid the…

No one flirts with me. Am I doing something wrong??? LOL, I have no idea what you're talking about. Haven't seen anything of the sort.

Alright, I have no shame. Also, I'm procrastinating big time at the moment and would rather do ANYTHING other than clean up my apartment for the company I'm having tomorrow. LOL. I just added 2 pics to my profile here that show my stomach at the current time...first shows how my skin wrinkles a little when I scrunch up.…

Hmmm, just a quick search, how about this? http://www.vertex42.com/ExcelTemplates/weight-loss-chart.html

What about logging your weight here, then clicking 'reports' up above and choosing progress?

I am pro-margarita. Have to try this! A big bag of Splenda runs about 8 bucks.

Look at it this way: as long as you're being the voice of reason, it's ok!

I keep an awareness of all of the above....calories, keeping things balanced, fresh unprocessed foods, low glycemic index carbs, high fiber, high protein. That being said, this guides the choices I make overall, but I don't micromanage it or anything. I'm not a spreadsheet kinda girl :) And I ate a couple Hershey's kisses…

Yes! I've done the spartan and the warrior. They were fun. This year I want to do something that's really an accomplishment. All in!

Success is still success! If you don't celebrate the small accomplishments, it is far too easy to get discouraged and derailed before you reach any of your big goals. Snacking yes...but while studying, be careful! I gained so much weight in school it's not funny. Being studious is a very sedentary activity and your…

I'm big on evidence, there are always a million opinions being thrown around and presented as fact and it drives me crazy. This sort of info is to be taken into consideration...but consideration only. My beef with all the rat stuff is that rats aren't conscious beings who are considering the pros and cons of the dietary…

The way I look at it is this. Cycling your calories and having both lower and higher calorie days is an accepted practice to ensure you properly fuel your metabolism. When losing weight, or even being strict about trying to maintain, it's easy to get so regimented that you're not even eating your daily requirements. If you…

"Just Do It" comes to mind. But I do have more thoughts on timing than just that....first, workout whatever time of day you know you'll have the most energy to put into it. I am not a morning person, so I have a lot more gusto working out mid to late afternoon and my workouts are more productive. I also know that exercise…

Hahaha, aren't sisters a pain in the *kitten*? Sometimes they really mean well though. You won't regret it!

Oh, and I bought the coral one :)

I'm going on a cruise in a couple of weeks and while I have a closet full of cocktail dresses and such for formal nights, I have a nasty, nasty habit of wearing a lot of black, and for this cruise not only do I want to look fabulous, but I want to wear something more tropical. I tried on a few things today, one of which…

I hate running, I mean I REALLY hate it, but every few years I get on this kick that I'm going to train myself into being a better runner and then I will like it more. Pffff. Still waiting for that to happen. Anyway, I have had some serious shin splints at times. Like total compartment syndrome PAIN. I've never succeeded…

As I see it, you can lose weight on any diet that results in you taking in fewer calories than your body burns every day, whether it's high carb or low carb. The eating plans are just gimmick, giving you a regimen to get you eating fewer calories. JMHO.

I love oatmeal. I use steel-cut oats, cook with water, egg whites, cinnamon and splenda, chop some apple up and toss it in, and when it's done, sprinkle with a little ground flax seed and chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans. Very well-rounded, filling meal. I've never had it with butter???

Ooops, hit the wrong button :o) I think they probably mean to be supportive...they're congratulating you and telling you you look great now! Enjoy that part of it. You are probably right, that 130 is a very fair goal. What weight will be right for you really depends on your frame and body composition. Makes all the…

See below...I hit the wrong button and entered too soon :o)

There ya go. You've got a target, now you can re-evaluate and fine tune along the way.

I'm thinking I'll try bike shorts, just to make sure there's no seams anywhere near my hiney, and then maybe something like bodyglide...I know guys who use the stuff for biking to protect their delicate parts from friction on the seat. The reason I'm looking so hard for a solution and want to continue this exercise despite…

Sets in after about 20min on the elliptical, from constant pressure of the 'pedals' against the ball of your foot. When I start getting that sensation, it lower my stance a little bit, more into a squat, and make sure I'm pushing through my heels for a minute or two. Or do the same and go in reverse which feels a little…

Oh yeah, def be a banana!

Incredible!!! You are beautiful.

No, I agree. Clothing is made to fit the more common pear-shape. I find dress shopping a total pain the you-know-what. If it fits through the chest, it doesn't fit anywhere else. If it fits everywhere else, I find myself wishing for implants. Hourglass can be a tough shape to dress, even if it's considered 'an ideal.'

For the most part, the common info says that you will maintain your general shape/proportions, just with different dimensions. I have hourglass proportions, but the distribution definitely changed a little at different weights. At my heaviest, about 175lbs, my measurements were somewhere around 38.5/32/40 and I had a…
