  • Its still possible and you are being realistic about your goals. Try jeff galoway training plans for walk/run. You will be fine just take it easy and enjoy the ride.
  • I think that is a good way to supplement, but you don't have to completely eliminate a food unless you are kind of a if I eat it once I will eat it all day every day type. If that is the case you may need to ween it out for awhile. But there is nothing wrong with a cheat meal every now and again.
  • It could be a food allergy. It was suggested to eat the food by itself which is a good idea and keep a log of how you feel before and after. Make an appointment with an allergist or a naturopath to find a diagnosis because hives for one can be internal as well.
  • looking good for sure
  • I totally agree with your statements.
  • I just bought an igloo one its canvas with the removable plastic inside and shoulder strap. I got it at Target for I think around $24. I needed a large one to pack for the whole day since I have two jobs. I bought some reusable ice things for it that are flexible so I can put them in however I want. They were around $2.00…
  • They clearly do not understand cardio
  • Don't be scared of using weights if you want to try it. You would have to lift significant amounts over a period of time and eat pretty big to get bulky. If you are not keen on weights you can stick to body weight exercises which are just as effective. Cardio will lean you out and it will not make you flabby and skinny. I…
  • Taking the weight off for me is simply biomechanics. I am 5'2" and small boned. I weighed 98 lbs when I graduated hs. Fast forward to being pregnant with son. I couldn't gain for the longest time and then I developed a condition that had me retaining a lot of fluids and my body was totally inflamed. I weighed 145 lbs when…
  • I don't like anything made in a diet, skinny lite etc form for a host of reasons. One a person almost always eats more because it is "diet" and secondly loaded with tons of fat and sugar to make it "taste" good and keep the consistancy of the product. I agree with what others have said order a regular pizza. If you are…
  • I think a generally accepted definition of clean eating is a diet that consists of foods as close to the natural state as possible. Where it can get tricky is some "processed" foods can be defined as clean, because while they have multiple ingredients combined to make a products; they are generally whole food ingrediants…
  • My awesome son, my favorite nephew and niece and running
  • I prefer to say I choose not to eat. For me personally its mainly just junkie stuff and if I am honest about it; mostly stuff I really was not to wild about in the first place. Just a few examples ice cream, bagels, most desserts and candies etc.
  • I had this very same conversation with some friends of mine before. All I can say is that at the root of jokes is a kernel of truth. Meaning that there is a reason for the snide remarks and comments and it never has anything to do with the person to which it is directed. Those people are often jealous and insecure and when…
  • one of my favorite quotes is the only run you will regret in the one you didnt take. I know there are days like that but challenge yourself to at least 10 minutes if you still are not feeling it so be it, but usually you will be in the groove and get it done. This may be the one for you today "If you can't fly, than run.…
  • I love body weight programs. Its pretty simple to design a HIIT circuit for home use. Another great way to get in some work is when you hit the park with the son you can use all the equipment for just about any exercise you want to do. I have the insanity program and I love it. A little tip on getting it for less money.…
  • I'm up for it we are in a similar situation. You will have to add me as I havent a clue how that works
  • If I had to choose one it would be the fit, healthy body. I would much rather be able to continue my racing than just be a pretty face on the sidelines.
  • Diet is the most important thing, but when I say diet I mean healthy lifestyle changes, not short term fad or restrictive diets. That will be impossible to maintain and often have the opposite effect. I recommend a heavy focus on cardio. Depending on you physical activity previous to now I would start with the tried and…
  • It makes perfect sense. When you consider the amount of weight someone needs to lose initially it can seem like a restrictive calorie diet is the way to go. The problem is like you said it is almost impossible to maintain. But as you eliminate fat stores that the body is feeding on your body turns to any available food…
  • Running, hands down and specifically trails. I love every minute of it
  • I find most phone apps notoriously unreliable and I have tried many. With increase use and distance even more so. My recommendation would be to get yourself a Garmin. There are several options at several different price points to choose from depending on what you want to track. They are far more reliable and convenient to…
  • I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder about 14 years ago. I was on a medication for a little over a year. In that time I have worked on eating a clean healthy diet. Food does effect mood and I exercise specifically I credit running with saving my life. It has made such an impact on me. There are a number of…
  • Eating clean is one thing but one still has to watch the portion sizes of things as well
  • I agree with what you are saying. I would go further as to say both are relevant. Eating huge portions of anything are not likely to help. I don't think those is the opposite camp will be convinced to eat clean until they experience it for themselves. Eating a clean diet changes your whole life. And we can preach it and…
  • It will with consistancy change the shape and tone of your butt. However, unless you are lifting big and eating big its unlikely to make your butt huge.
  • My opinion is that if you are not buying new clothes its like saying you will need the ones you in right now again. I say bag up the old ones get rid of them asap and buy new and keep moving forward.
  • You don't really need protein shakes, my go to refuel after a workout is chocolate milk. The optimum balance to replace what is lost. The act of chewing is as much about eating as the calories going in. Having said that while you are consuming the calories the brain has not registered it as eating, which can lead to the…
  • I would agree that if you have a propensity toward it, you can go over the edge. I use this site as a gauge for not really calories is general, but watching specifically sugar, sodium intake and whether my protein is where it needs to be. I rarely ever put in my excercise. I only recently started looking at some of the…
  • you can do almost anything with coconut oil. It can be used to cook with as it be heated to a higher temp before it burns. It does not flavor what you cook in it. Whether its baking or cooking on the stove or grilling. You can mix it into water or coffee to drink. Add to smoothies really anything you can make. It can be…
