  • Did anyone else do a turkey trot yesterday? I did one for the first time. Was a great way to start out a good day with family. Finished a 5k in 25:30 which came out to a 8:13 mile pace. Did some digging yesterday and from a 5k race i did in june on almost the same date i have trimmed two and a half minutes off my time. Not…
  • Yesterday i ran a 4.3 trail race at a local state park. Never ran a trail race before. Wow was that a shock! The state is in the sand dunes on lake michigan. Everything was up and down hills over and over again. Thankfully with my training and making sure i include hills in my runs i didnt have a problem with this other…
  • So i'm trying to decide if i should run my long run this saturday which is 11 miles or do a free race at a local state park. The race is a trail run and is 4.3 miles. I have been wanting to run a 5 k lately just to see how i can do time wise on it. I havnt ran a 5k in a while and have been able to keep my long runs just…
  • I am always looking at different routes. i have a mapping program on the computer and save each route i do in a folder and name it. I used to just keep the same route and add on to it as my distance increased but found myself getting bored. Now i spend time mapping out different ones on my off days, interesting what you…
  • There is nothing better then running with family. Enjoy it everyone who is. my wife and i ran together for a long time, she actually got me started running. But due to having our second child on the way she had to give up running with me. Makes for a lot of long runs by myself. Still enjoy them though.
  • Congrats and great job. Its always a great feeling to set a new distance like that. Keep it up
  • Long run this morning went good. Was cold out only 36 degrees. Did 9.7 miles in a hour and twenty seven minutes. Came out to a 8 minute fifty seven second pace. Longest I have gone so far.
  • Well ran my long run this morning. 8.5 miles in a hour 21 minutes. I was happy with that since I'm on away for the weekend and it was only 45 degrees out and was 35 to 45 mph wind gust the whole time.
  • So I picked my first half out. April 22nd next year. Nothing I can be ready for earlier thanks to cold Michigan winters. This will be a trial run for a marathon two months after that I'm working towards.
  • Well two days of running both messed up. Yesterday in the middle of my run my wife called because someone stole her lunch and I had to stop and take her something. So it was a short two miles. Today during my 5.5 nature decided to call and I had to make a detour back home and then got called into work. Been a rough week…
  • ' Thanks i will check that out. I do have running socks i wear but they are cheap one's from walmart. I know they arent the best but they worked for when i first strated running. Problem is i dont have a local store, even though i live in a decent sized city. Closest one is 15 miles away which isnt to far and i plan to…
  • Hard to say. You can read all over the place where the wrong size shoe can cause a lot of toe problems. My shoes are plenty big but after i broke them in for a long time, like 4 months, my outside toes hit the end when i run and go numb. Takes about 5 miles before they go numb.
  • Rematch of the 06 series. Cards and tigers. Tigers in 5. Go tigers!
  • Nothing better then venison. My wife and I take about a table spoon extra virgin olive oil. Warm in a pan then add two or three sweet onions to the pan. Put the steaks on top and little season salt and fresh ground pepper. Cover and let cook on a low heat for 45 minutes to a hour. Should be very tender and taste great. The…
  • I am gonna be sore tomorrow for sure. Did my long run today, just got back actually. 7.5 miles averaging just under a 9 minute per mile pace. left my phone at home and though i was averaging a 10 minute per mile pace, did the math wrong in my head while i was running.
  • I'm from muskegon.
  • So I did my first long run after hurting my injury. Before I hurt it I had did a 8.5 mile run. Today I ran a 7 mile route in a hour and ten minutes. Not to shabby since I did break down and walk for a few minutes. Balmy felt pretty good through the whole thing and I feel like I'm back on track. Congrats to everyone who had…
  • So how does everyone schedule their workouts. I work in retail as a store manager and my schedule is different each week. Some days i dont go in untill noon, and others i open and am out at 4:30. Some days are close the store and open the next day. Some times i find it difficult to plan and schedule my runs so that i'm not…
  • Today was my first run in 2 weeks. I have been nursing a sore hamstring. Biked a little after the first week but it didnt feel right afterwards. Ran just over 3 miles and walked for 15 minutes after just to try and help my legs strech out. Didnt feel bad at all during the run. After i could tell it was a little tight. So…
  • So with winter coming up very quickly does anyone have reccomendations as to how they get their run in to keep training. I live in michigan right on lake michigan and get a lot of snow. I know there is a treadmill i just really dont enjoy running on a treadmill for a hour at a time. Thanks
  • Wow did this post just explode. Well i ran 8 and a half last week on wedensday and then did some speed work over 5 miles on friday. I havnt ran since then due to nursing a hurt hammy. Was able to bike 11 miles yesterday and its feeling better this morning then it has all week so i'm thinking i might try a easy run tomorrow…
  • I would be interested. I recently decided to start training for a marathon but would defiantly be interested in this group also. What was the app?
  • I'm not from kalamazoo. Muskegon but still the westside of the state. Keep working at it and you will see change in your gut. I have lost over 40 pounds and my gut is still my worst area. Just remember you didnt get the way you are over night and it wont be over night that you change it. Friend me if you want.
  • Interesting to see other people feel this way to. I have done three 5k races this year and just the other day ran 4.7 miles in what I have decided is training for a marathon. But I still don't call myself a runner even though I just told my wife in the car today that it is the new thing in my life. What I used to be…
  • Highly recommend checking out the group called group one crew. Good upbeat positive music. Great to run to.
  • My wife and i bought the ft7, when i was researching these the ft7f was for females. The watch band was smaller, they also have a ft7m which was for men and had a bigger wrist band. They were also different colors. The ft4 were the same way, a men's model and woman's model. hope that helps.
