  • This time around, I am choosing to never weigh myself. I used to be a slave to the scale (literally, weighing myself after going #2) and would get discouraged if I only saw -0.2. While I am definitely intrigued to see if I lost any weight, I am more focused on eating right, working out and overall just feeling good. What…
  • Born and raised in NY but living in LA for 7 1/2 years now.
  • Hi everyone! After a 3 year hiatus, I am back on myfitnesspal and ready to make my goals stick. After an amazing 5 months, I lost 35 pounds and went from a size 14 US jeans to a tight 5/6 jeans. You guessed it! The reason I am back is because I am back at a size 12 (technically). For many people, the summer is a time to…
  • I own the Betty Crocker "300 Calorie Book" and under fruits they have: 1/2 cup blueberries - 40 calories 1/2 medium grapefruit - 40 calories 1/2 cup grapes - 55 calories 1 medium orange - 60 calories 1 medium peach - 40 calories 1/2 cup pineapple - 40 calories 1/2 cup strawberries - 25 calories 1/2 cup watermelon - 24…
  • ahh good choices good choices thank you!
  • I was looking at that but the Spagetti Integrali con Verdurine di Stagione alla Primavera con Caprino Gratinato sounded good too because it was whole wheat spaghetti and has vegetables and it's base is olive oil so it's not terrible. I don't eat goat cheese so I would ask for that to be excluded. hmmmmm Thanks for your…
  • May 10th check in: Weight joining group: 156.4 CW: 154.8 I have lost 1.6 pounds. .4 to go!! in 4 days!
  • Just what I was looking for! CW: 156.4 GW (by May 14th): 154.4
  • You sound exactly like me. I am in college and by December 31st I swelled up to 188.8 because of food and a slight emotional breakdown. I decided to get my act together January 1st and am currently 157.6! I feel great too but I know I still have a little more to go! congrats and I am so happy there are others just like me!…
  • I know which ones you're talking about, they also come in peanut butter (yum) and I think like dark chocolate raspberry or cranberry but I never tried that one. Lunas are amazing. Had the peanut butter cookie for one of my lunches today and I gotta say that for TOM, the caramel nut brownie does the job!
  • Weigh In #1 (4/1/10): SW: 188.8 W starting MFP: 176.2 CW: 157.6 GW: 142 - 146 (but I kinda wanna see 139.9 for like a millisecond!)
  • I'm up for it! So desperate to lose these last 16 pounds. woooooh!!!!
  • chocolate cheerios but they're kinda addicting so I would say get your 3/4 cup serving and put the box in a high place that you can't reach!
  • UPDATE: So, since this past saturday, I have been home and while it has been hard to exercise everyday, eating has not been terrible. I stayed with my diet (and ate all my calories and then some) but the scale is telling me other wise: it is slowly going up. I've been weighing myself everyday just to see how each day…
  • ummm... bump!!!! thank you!
  • Thank you for this advice, I have thought about it before. And to be completely honest, my heart rate is always in the fat burning zone if not an even higher zone by my 2nd minute into cardio. I do about level 8 on elliptical (but go back and forth between 6-10) and for bicycling I tend to stay on 6 for the most part but…
  • So today I feel like crap. I did pretty well except I ate some chocolate (and it was a lot for someone who wasn't really eating any before). Also, I have no exercised yet but I always log in what I will do for the day so I knew how many exercise calories I would have. Feeling like crap and taking your advice I actually…
  • Ok, so if I up my calories to my BMR, what does my exercise schedule look like? FYI, I rarely burn 1100 calories a day from exercise (I just so happened to consume a whole lot of chocolate cheerios and felt bad about myself and just wanted to stay in the gym). In the beginning of my diet, I did about 20 min cardio per day…
  • Well, people know from my previous posts that my original diet before starting MFP was to eat about 800 calories a day and work out about 3 times a week for 20 min each. I happened to lose a lot of weight doing this (20 lbs to be exact) but I began to get hungrier and finally wanted to listen to MFP and eat the 1200…
  • Thank you! I'll def. keep you guys informed (hopefully good things!!)
  • Oh, and one last thing to all the MFP's who have mentioned previous posts and what not about the subject matter, trust me I go through the whole database with my concerns and questions before I write a topic and couldn't find anything on my specific case so... yea.
  • I don't eat them but whenever I go into the "-bars" aisle of whole foods to get my luna bars, I see them.
  • p.s. has anyone else tried the sacred heart soup diet for a week? I'm thinking about possibly doing it in about 2 weeks or so but I am unsure whether it would work for me or not since I am only 17lbs from my goal (it def. is not an "only" for me but it is far less than what I have already lost).
  • Ahh trust me I am now exercising 2x more than I did at the beginning of my diet, especially this week. One day alone I burned a little more than 1,100 calories by exercise. And yet the scale doesn't budge or goes down by .2 or even worse goes up (yikes!). I've been testing my body lately with detox fasts (24 hours) and…
  • Well, I think I am. I have a water bottle that fills about 2.5 cups every time I fill it up. I drink about 3 to 3 1/2 per day plus I drink about 2 cups of green tea so I sort of count that as well. Is that not enough? I honestly drink when I am thirsty and with meals and everything (since water and tea are the only liquids…
  • down to 162.6 ... I mean if that stays. I've had so many issues these past 2-3 weeks fluctuating from 163-166, I don't know what to believe anymore.
  • I like to get the good fats from avocado into my wraps. When I scoop out part of the avocado, I crush it and use it as sort of a spread on a whole wheat tortilla when I make a turkey and cucumber wrap. So delicious!!
  • I didn't get a chance to post yesterday but I weighed in today and am down another pound. so close to 159 I can taste it!
  • Also, if you are set up to lose about 2 lbs a week, I would say eat more but make sure you exercise so it balances out.
  • I have actually read somewhere on here that you should increase your calorie intake to get out of a plateau. The last 3 days I did just that (by about 200 calories; I used to eat about 900 but now I eat 1200, the recommended amount on MFP). And guess what? i just broke through my plateau and lost 2.6 pounds (not in 3 days,…
