What do you plan to do for leaning out?
-
Yes an entire sleeve of club crackers and 12 fudge stripe cookies when I was by myself. I don't know why. I didn't feel sad or lonely...maybe a little defiant. I'm trying to figure it out.

We gotcha, girl. Do what you can with where you are and what you have. I'm sorry for your struggle. Peace to you and your family.

Hi you and Pam both look great. Did either of you follow a specific program and how long have you been lifting?

Thank you for responding.

That moment when my 8 yr old wants me to take him to the pool and I jump at the chance to go swimming with him and not worry about wearing my swimsuit.

I too am hitting menopause and it is definitely helping my poor eating choices to catch up with me. It has also slowed me down a bit when it comes to working out.

Hi I joined this group a while ago but this is my first post I think. I've followed nrolw but stopped and haven't lifted for 4 months. I need to start with a simpler format so here I go. My first session is tomorrow am. Reading the posts have helped me to jump back in , I need to build strength and confidence!

I've run half dozen marathons at various weights during the last 15 years. I love the melting pot of shapes, sizes and ages not to mention the gear that you see at the starting area! Yea for diversity! The diverse starting line population has such great commradarie because the basic goal for all is the same-finish. Cheers…

Cricket Kate, You don't know me but I want you to know that I will shoulder a bit of your burden for you today and pass it to Jesus in prayer. Thank you for your Just for Today thread. God protect you and your family according to His plan.

bump for the quotes. ANTS automatic negative thinking often will become what we believe. You need to know that just because you think it doesn't mean its true. Take the negative thoughts and really talk them out, you will find that when you really examine them, they are lies. We can all be good at lying to ourselves…

I'm sorry you are feeling so defeated. Have you heard of ANTS, automatic negative thinking? Sometimes I get stuck in this pattern of thinking and then start to believe that just because I think it, it is true. I have to consciously work to debunk my negative thoughts by speaking them and then talking myself through why…

Vanilla keeps the gnats away. I rub it on with a napkin, especially around my face, neck and ears.

There is no shame in wanting to improve your health and fitness. Swimming is a great way to start. I understand the self consciousness but I bet no one there will be worried about you. Everyone is there doing their own thing. You can do it, every trip to the pool or gym will get easier. Today is the day, go for it!

Oh heavens yes! Thank you!

This sounds like my bootcamp that I do 3 times a week. High intensity circuits 3 minutes in duration with compound lifts or abs alternating for 45 minutes nonstop. Is that cardio acceleration?
-
I ran 46 minutes today without stopping! Good job everyone, these are so fun and inspiring to read!

Sounds good! I will eat it with fresh strawberries. Thanks.

Amazing!

Nice work! You make it sound so doable in your blog, thanks.

I get this as well but my mind works the other way. I had always been quite fit, healthy and thin. Now I am healthy but bigger...4 children and almost 50 will do that to a woman! Every time I look in the mirror I am shocked because I think of myself as smaller. I feel sometimes like I don't know who I'm looking at. I also…

I'm the same way! I joined boot camp at the fitness center. It's helpful to have classmates and a set time 3 days a week. I'm also a Minnesotan! Congrats on the upcoming wedding.

Hi! I have completed 7 marathons with the goal in each to finish, no speed involved! My go to resource has been Hal Higdon. I use water and diluted gatorade during the race. I also eat along the course. I pack granola bars broken into bite size pieces to eat throughout the race. I am also not afraid to eat the…
