  • No, I had not noticed this one.
  • Agree 1,000%. I also noticed many new cases here in TN are younger people.
  • Kroger does, but I haven't tried it and have heard they don't always get it right anyway. But yes, maybe curbside pickup is the next best option when delivery isn't available.
  • Unfortunately not all of us can do that. I was seeing something elsewhere saying that those of usbat higher risk should have friends and family shop for us and stay home. Neat idea except I am now having to work on-site again and there isn't anyone that I can send to shop for me. I am trying to keep enough food on hand to…

  • 5 miles today were supposed to be at a higher HR, but just couldn't keep at that intensity. :(
  • Masks are required at my work, but we know they protect everyone else much more than they protect us. The people screening employees as they arrive get face shields - this is in addition to masks. When wearing these face shields, though, we are coming into contact with people who have just arrived and have not yet been…
  • Coronavirus Is Airborne, Say Scientists, Ask WHO To Revise Rules: Report https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/coronavirus-is-airborne-say-scientists-ask-world-health-organisation-to-revise-rules-report-2257626
  • And the other study that shows breathing (not just HEAVY breathing) spreads it? How are you are measuring your breathing to determine whether it is heavy enough to spread or not? At the very minimum, it is possible that breathing (all breathing) spreads Coronavirus. But because you don't see that as a 100% certainty, you…
  • This article cites 2 sources showing that breathing can spread the virus: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cmrp.2020.05.003 The WHO quickly walked back the claim that asymptomatic spread was rare (literally the very next day, as the scientific community had found otherwise).…
  • Yes, the gatherings this weekend are going to result in more cases for sure. Where I live, most of the normal fireworks shows were cancelled. But then the county rescue squad decided to have a fireworks display for the first time since nobody else was doing one. They just suggested social distancing - didn't even mention a…
  • I worked at a big box store once. The security people would flip through those photos regularly and most of them were pretty good about recognizing someone whose face they had seen in their no-shop photos every day for months when they go through it.
  • I just had a thought as I smacked a mosquito on my arm and there was blood... can mosquitoes spread this?!
  • Yes, talking spreads it. So does breathing. By breathing through a mask, you reduce the chance of spreading it to others. Don't pretend that nobody can catch it to you unless you talk to them... that's what I expect to hear from the same conspiracy nuts that think electric windows are dangerous for their health.
  • Morality is legislated constantly - and that is not just ok, it is necessary. Necessary because some people don't care about anyone else and will only do the right thing when forced. As to cigarettes, unhealthy food, etc. - there are already laws (as there should be) about smoking around other people. Most places, you…
  • I'm going to disagree altogether and say we need a mandate yesterday. But then I'm in the crowd that doesn't pretend people with pre-existing conditions don't exist in an effort to argue that the mortality rate is too low to make it worthwhile to wear masks.
  • Hmm.... even NY isn't at 75%. Here is another link - an article about that study and mentions others found similar results. https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/06/26/which-part-of-the-u-s-leads-the-country-in-mask-wearing/?fbclid=IwAR0QztL5bTHSfGu4cWedL-ZwQdYNEwuYgR8C12G5tDylhHQ6T6jLp3WZCuA
  • This survey? https://www.ipsos.com/sites/default/files/ct/news/documents/2020-06/topline-axios-poll-wave-14.pdf I live in TN - the lowest rate of any of the states included in results - and my observation is that we are nowhere near the level who said they wear a mask. But that also depends on location. My work requires it…
  • Vehicles are used in a lot of ways that are extremely valuable - in fact, in ways that quite literally preserve and save lives. How is the benefit of operating a vehicle the same as the benefit of refusing to wear a mask? This is the part I can't understand about anti-maskers. I understand the benefits of wearing a mask. I…
  • Are you seriously arguing it is ok for people to die for your convenience?! Seems selfish to me.
  • I'm not sure it's the same as influenza. We know Coronavirus is spread by droplets leaving our mouth and nose, so it is logical that a mask that limits droplets will work. Is it 100%? Nope. Nobody ever said it is... but any effectiveness is worthwhile. In fact, unless if a mask was proven to be 0% effective (not against…
  • Yes, but I don't believe for a second that people will change their ways willingly. My suggestion for steep fines is to leave them no choice. Since they won't do the right thing on their own, they will have to be forced.
  • Not sure what you are talking about. Many city police dept. are 1/3 to half of the city budget. Then there is county, state, and federal law enforcement. I've never heard that the government can't figure out how to collect fines and don't see why that changes now.
  • Totally agree. We need a national mask law with steep penalties. And strict enforcement.
  • Hello, neighbor! *waves from Tennessee* OK, I'm in west TN - close to the MO border - pretty far away from NC. But it still technically borders my current state. Even if it is a really long distance away. Like a really really long distance. Because Tennessee is a lot like me (short and wide). :D
  • I thought that about regions back in April when my state was one of the last to get TP again for some reason weeks after everyone else.
  • IDK, just going to put 80 miles and see what happens.
  • This is not the first I have heard rumors of over-reported Covid deaths, but have yet to know of a specific case. On the other hand, I personally know of a case where the patient had all the symptoms of Covid and died, but was not ruled as a Covid death due to a negative test result. Never mind that the company doing tests…
  • My understanding is that cloth or paper masks help most when worn by an infected person (regardless of whether they have symptoms) and that the N95 helps most when worn by a non-infected person. Keeping N95 for healthcare workers was to keep them (the people wearing N95) from getting infected.
