  • Nup not too concerned. I dont add salt to any food except poached eggs (and I dont have them every day) and I hardly have any pre-packaged foods. I also have no health issues that are effected by salt intake.
  • Is there staff at your gym? If there is, ask them to show you around and show you how to use the equipment correctly - thats their job. As for the types of people who use the gym....gosh this stereotype gets banged out a lot doesnt it? Who cares who else is in the gym?? Who cares if they are smaller than you or more…
  • I really want to like chick peas too, I can tolerate them but I dont love them. I have them in a curry with pumpkin and spinach, and I make a pasta sauce with them blending them up with pumpkin, a tin of tomatoes and some tomato paste.
  • Running in the mountains sounds all kinds of lovely to me, that would be enough to get me motivated. If you get bored easily invest in an ipod or similar device if you dont already have one. You could listen to music, audio books, inspirational speakers, meditations etc Is there a running group where you are moving to? Or…
  • Wow there is just so much out there to choose from! What do you like to do? Team sports? Solo stuff? Outdoorsy things? Dancing? The list is endless. For me, I run/swim/cycle weekly I also really like yoga and walking but dont manage to fit those in all that often unfortunately. Hula hooping and kickboxing are top of my fun…
  • This would have to be such a common thing. I think its because its a pre-wedding "diet" not a lifestyle change that everything goes to pot after the wedding. You have reached your goal, you have been restricting your food and now its over you can relax for "a while" which turns from a week or so to months, chuck on a few…
  • I used bio oil when I was pregnant and the smell of it now makes me want to heave. I dont have many stretch marks, but I think that is mostly down to genetics rather than what lotion I was applying. Ive heard good things about argon oil, and of course nothing beats olive oil to keeps skin soft and supple.
  • If you are interested, have a look at the runningahead website. There is so much really great information on there specifically about running. There is a whole section just for new runners.
  • Have you got a MP3 player on your blackberry? On the C25k website there are a heap of free podcasts that you can download. I used the ones by DJ Beatsmith and they were quite good.
  • Do you know that the c25k is only supposed to be done 3 times a week with at least 1 rest day in between sessions? Listen to your body. Why dont you try having an active rest day in between run days? Walking is great exercise and a little bit kinder on your knees. Or you could do a weights session or swimming or ride a…
  • I just had a super quick look at your food diary and you are going way below your recommended calorie intake, this is probably the reason why you are feeling light headed and flustered. You should be trying to eat as much as is recommended. Our bodies need fuel to keep working and you are running on an empty tank.
  • It can be pretty inexpensive to start your own balcony garden. All you really need to pay for are the seeds (or seedlings but they are a bit more expensive) and the soil. One of the best things to use for your garden bed are those Styrofoam boxes fruit and veggies come in. Most market sellers will give you the boxes for…
  • Farmers markets usually have a cheap day/time where they are trying to offload produce quickly. There isnt anything wrong with the produce, but the sellers need to make room for the next delivery. Do you have a yard at all? Or even a balcony? You could have a go at growing some of your own produce. Seeds cost a whole lot…
  • I would be terribly offended if someone directly called me fat because their intention would be to hurt my feelings, but the word in general doesnt really offend me, its just a word after all.
  • A HRM just counts your heart beats and calculates from there how many calories you have burned according to your age and weight. It doesnt know what activity you are doing. Ive got a polar FT60 and its really good. The difference between the estimated calories and what my HRM says is always different by a few hundred cals.…
  • I dont really think there is a hard and fast rule with this kind of thing, except that you should listen to your body (not everyone elses lol). I go to the gym or out for a run at 6am and I have to be back by 7 so my husband can go to work (we have 2 x 4 year olds) and I dont eat until I get home. I dont have any issues…
  • If working out at night works for you then do it. Why shouldnt she be logging them? Isnt that kinda the point of this website? Tracking food and exercise?
  • The baby bjorn ones are good, but the upper weight limit isnt fantastic so you cant use them when your kids are bigger.
  • Dont know if you have them over there, but here you can get a brilliant one called ergo. http://www.ergobabycarrier.com/ I spent a whole lot of money on one of those wrap type slings when my guys were babies and I really wish I had just gotten one of these, Id still be able to use it on my 4 year olds now - talk about good…
  • The C25k thing is pretty misunderstood hey? If you complete the whole program you will be running constantly for 30min and/OR be able to run 5km - not be able to run 5km IN 30min. Dont stress about the distance too much, that comes with practice. Run often and you will increase your distance and your time. Enjoy running…
  • What desperate times????? I have heard of many gross things but this is probably number one on the list now.
  • If you want to get better at running, then you need to run. As others have said, walking lots isnt the same thing. Have you heard of Gu? You can get them at sports stores and stuff. Its just a liquid carb shot. Something like that or even a few jelly beans while you are running might help with the tired feeling you are…
  • 1. Shoes - you need the best pair that you can afford. Dont stinge on these. Get fitted properly by someone who actually runs. 2. There is no such thing as running too slowly. As long as you are making the jogging movements, your body and brain will think that you are really running and this is what will increase your…
  • Ahhh my mistake. Do you know that if you bought one every day it would be nearly $1,500 in a year that you would spend on them?
  • When you're addicted it doesnt matter?? I used to be addicted to cigarettes - 40 per day for many years. Some addictions do matter. Energy drinks are a waste of money, but if you are happy to fork out for them then cool.
  • Chafing where? Legs? Arms? Tummy? If its your legs you can wear bike shorts under pretty much anything. Otherwise ask at your local chemist for some type of cream or ointment that will help.
  • Never google stuff like this, you will always find horror stories. I had one put in after the birth of my kids (nearly 4 years ago now) and I still managed to successfully lose weight with it in.
