  • Thanks everyone. I will try a pound a week. Sadly I have an old injury that has flared up so I am not as active as Id like to be. The positive is it has made me focus on my eating.lol
  • I am 5"3 and I usually get about 200-250 calories a day for exercise
  • Thank you for all of the responses. I was out of town sorry for the delay of response. I will keep trying. Carb cycling sounded like a lot so I wanted to ask.
  • I'm definitely no expert but I think you are not eating enough and your body is in starvation mode.
  • I tend to check it daily but would prefer to check it weekly.
  • Thanks for posting. I weigh and record everything so I know I am accurate. I will keep the faith. I was so motivated when the scale dropped and now I get frustrated. Sometimes it's hard to trust the process. Especially when I keep hearing Menopause means you can't loose weight.
  • Thanks for responding. I weigh and record everything so I know I am in a deficit. I am happy about the 5 pounds but I have 10 more to go. It was motivating when the scale was going down. Now I get frustrated. Thanks for listening. I love the questions you posed. Its funny I go back and forth. But I lean towards B.
  • I am 5'3'' 135 pounds. I weigh daily and I have been riding my bike for a few years and the strength training is new since 5 weeks ago.
  • I lost 4-5 the first three weeks and nothing the last two for a total of 5 weeks.
  • A thing to know about half a pound a week: Daily water retention and digestive contents fluctuations - not fat, so not worth worry - can be 2-3 pounds from one day to the next. In that context, it can take several weeks for half a pound of fat loss to show up clearly on the scale. A weight trending app (Happy Scale, Libra,…
  • Thank you for all of the advice and the thought out responses. Yes, I do have some stresses which include menopause, 19 year old, and recovering from an injury. Im just frustrated because it seemed so much easier even a year ago. The main issue is I keep loosing a couple of pounds and then my DH and I go on a trip ( I…

  • Hi Wanda. I love tracking my food on myfitnesspal. I lost 30+ pounds in 2018. I have done okay keeping it off. (a little up and down). Since travel restrictions have loosened my DH and I have been traveling since we are first time empty nesters. The traveling has caused me to be 10 pounds heavier than I'd like so I am back…
  • Hey. Good luck! You can do this. I need to loose 10 pounds. I started 3 weeks ago and I have lost 3 pounds.
  • Thank you for taking the time to respond. I will keep what I am doing and tweak it if I am not loosing. I remember having less calories allowed and being very strict before when I had more to loose. Now that I am just trying to loose only 10 it is almost a different mindset. Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions.…
  • Thanks for the response. I have seen different numbers here on this board so just not sure. I have seen some people think 12,000 steps is very active.
  • I'm in! Ultimate Start weight: 155.5 Current Weight: 130 Challenge Goal:123 Ultimate Goal: 123 Weigh Ins: 9/13 - 9/20 9/27 10/4 10/11 10/18 10/25 10/31
  • So I looked at active and total calories on my Apple Watch and the Polar and total are within 10 calories of each other. I guess since I was using the polar last year and was successful I am surprised it was so much more.
  • Thanks everyone. I am probably way over thinking it. I think 12,000 steps puts me in the active category so I will select that and see how it goes for 2-3 weeks and adjust if I need to.
  • Great job! It takes a lot of work and dedication to loose weight! I lost 30 pounds last year and went from a size 12 to a size 6 so a size for every ten pounds. BUT I gained 10 back after a very stressful event so I started again and lost 11.5 which is only 1.5 pounds more. But since I included strength training this time…
  • Then there are also inches to consider. I am only 2 pounds smaller than last summer but I had to buy new shorts and some of my jeans are too loose because I have lost inches due to strength training. Last year when I lost 30 pounds I went from a size 12 to a size 6 and now 4/6. My tops went from medium/ large to small/…
  • Im 47, 5'3 SW (1/2018) 155.5 SW (1/2019 137.5 CW 126 GW 124 Im almost there. I was down to 126 by June of last year and gained about 10 pounds back by January of this year after a very stressful event. Ive been thinking about going down to 119 but that would be vanity pounds so I haven't decided. I think I'll take a break…
  • I could have written this post word for word. This started late February. I’m not hungry, not on electronics, workout almost every day and don’t need to pee. I may be peri menopausal. Whatever it is it is frustrating. Melatonin (6 mg) doesnt help and unison makes me irritable.
  • I am happy for you. I went through the same exact thing. I didn't show a loss for a month due to constantly being sore from strength training. I lost inches so that motivated me and then I had a whoosh. Keep up the good work. I was always hungry so went from 1 pound a week to .5 a pound and that has helped a lot.
  • You change it on MFP not the watch.
  • Nice, thank you. You too!!
  • Thank you! I didn’t notice the net do that is much easier.
  • To add to what I suggested above, using myself as an example. I have my profile set to “very active.” My daily steps are anywhere from 10,000-20,000/day, depending on the day, and most days I still get “extra” calories added to my log. Sometimes I eat them, sometimes I don’t, but it hasn’t adversely affected my weight…
  • Ha! I promise I’m 47. Did you think I was younger based on my picture? People always tell me I look at least 10-15 years younger. My husband jokes that people are going to think he is my dad when we go out. Ha! He is actually a year younger. My 15 year old almost 16 is definitely aging me!
  • I did and my weight loss was stalled to I recorded my numbers and according to my Apple Watch it equals 100-250 extra calories a day but not 250 consistently so I changed it to lightly active and will use the extra if I need it. I think if I was near 13,000 to 14,000 I could change to active but I can't get that…
