I have 15 pounds to loose
I lost 30 pounds a few years ago and gained some back due to some illnesses. I want to loose 15. I really want to aim for a pound a week but the recommendation is .5 a week. Should I aim for that? Thanks for the help, Candie

Carb cycling? Is it beneficial to weight loss?
I have seen a lot of information about carb cycling and people claiming it is a sure fire way to lose weight. Does anyone have experience with it? I lost weight a few years ago strictly doing calories in vs calories out. I have been doing the same thing and just not seeing the results this time.

So I am frustrated and need a PEP talk or advice
This is my 3rd time in 4 years of using My Fitness Pal and this is the first time I have not seen the scale consistently go down. It has started really frustrating me. I am consistently eating in a 500-700 calorie deficit. I ride the bike 6 days a week, lift light weights for 4 days and the scale hasn't changed in 2 weeks.…

Should I aim for .5 a week or 1 pound
I am 5'3'' and 133.5 pounds. I was at 125 and want to get back there. I am working out 5-6 days a week. Due to a neck injury I haven't been able to lift weights but just got the go ahead. YAY!! Do you recommend I try to loose .5 a week (which seem so slow-lol) or do you think 1 pound a week is ok. I am 50 and don't sleep…

I lost 35-40 pounds in 2018 but gained 10 back due to pandemic
I am back trying to loose 10 pounds before it gets out of control. Im not beating myself up. These are trying times plus I was dealing with a medical issue that made it very difficult to work out. I am aiming for half a pound a week. I have a Peloton bike and I work out and do some form of exercise 6 days a week. This is…

What activity level would you suggest?
OK. I have been on here for a little over a year and a half. I lost 30 pounds but gained a few back so I am trying to loose 5 pounds again. I am a SAHM who gets 12,000-14,000 steps a day. A lot of times it is around 12,500. This is without exercise. I do take a walk to get some of these steps but don't record it or count…

Truly trying to understand my steps
Good morning! So I’m trying to loose about 5 pounds. I’ve been using the app for a while and understand how to log my food and exercise. I’ve been using an Apple Watch. While I like a lot of things about it it seems to complicate things for me. My goal is 12,000 steps a day. I will include a walk if I need to. I don’t…

I compared my Polar Heart Rate Monitor to my Apple Watch
I went on a casual bike ride yesterday and wore both my polar heart rate monitor and my Apple Watch. Now when I used my polar HR last year I was able to loose 30 pounds. I got the Apple Watch for Christmas last year so I started using it. Now the Apple Watch says I burned 556 active calories and my Polar says I burned 665…

When doing cardio on a machine what is the percentage of your goal heart rate?
I cycle twice a week and do cardio and resistance training 3 days a week. I usually get my heart rate up to 90% or higher. Is it ok to drop it to 80% or so? Just wondering what you guys do. Thanks.

Just curious...All you 5'3'' women, what is your goal weight?
So I am 5'3" and my current goal is 125. I am thinking I would like to go to 120 but I tend to hover around 127.5. I know that everyone if built differently but I am just curious what your goal is.

I think my Apple Watch is making this harder for me...
So... I am trying to figure this out. When I put myself as lightly active I get 1400 calories. When I say I am active I get 1650. I always get 10,000 steps ASIDE from exercise. When I use my total calories on my phone I don't get 250 extra as these numbers suggest I do. I even upped my steps to 12,000 a day and still don't…

Question about weekly goal in app
When you set your goals in nutrition to weekly does it not account for exercise calories? Thanks, Candie

Now Im really confused
So I been using this site for a while but never took the time to do the calculations based on this chart. I just did it numerous times and I keep coming up with a higher number than MFP does. So I was wondering if someone could figure out why. My weight is 128 pounds which is 58kg My height is 5'3'' which is 160 in cm My…

I recommend using a weight app like Happy Scale or Libra
It really does tell the whole story. So I have been trying to loose 10 pounds for the last 6 weeks. For the month of February the scale didn't seem to move at. all. I kept logging my daily weigh ins in the Happy Scale app. I am down 6 pounds in 6 weeks. It wasn't linear but the results are there. Plus I have lost inches.…

Update: Met with my trainer today and my measurements were good.
Here is an update to my posts about not seeing the scale move in a few weeks. So on the first of the month I added strength training to my workouts. My trainer took my measurements. So in 3 weeks even though the scale shows only a one pound loss I lost 2 inches in my waist, 1/2 and inch in each thigh and an inch in my…

How long should I wait?
If you saw my other post you know I have been hovering over the same weight. I am weighing everything I eat on a food scale and logging it. I have marked my activity level down and eating some of my exercise calories. I have started a new exercise program and I am always sore so I hope I am just retaining water. According…

So for the last month I am hovering over 130 and just can't seem to break it.
I am a bit frustrated and I think I just need some encouragement. This time last year I lost 30 pounds and I had no problems. I was working out (mainly cardio) about 6 days a week and weighing all the food I ate. I gained 4-5 pounds back and I am trying to loose them (and maybe a couple more.). I am weighing and logging…

So I connected my Apple Watch to mfp but it was reading my iPhone
So last night I connected my Apple Watch to mfp but instead it was reading my iPhone. Which had about 14,500 steps, 500 more than my watch. However it still did negative 50 calories and my calories burn was lower than what my watch said by 260. I marked my activity level as lightly active so this can't be right. I…

So this year I am working on adding more protein to fuel my workouts so I have a question
What do you like for breakfast? I am use to a bowl of cherries or an egg and muffin. Today I made a muffin with one egg, turkey sausage and cheese. While good protein not something I will eat again. I want to stay away from yogurt since I have it for an afternoon snack with granola.

Tell me the benefits please
So I am 5 pounds from my goal weight of 125. I am 5”3. I am doing 6 days of cardio and 3 days of 30 minutes of resistance training. ( sit ups, squats, push ups, lunges, triceps dips.) I am currently set to loose 1 pound a week. Except this last week I have consistently lost. I am pretty sore from working with a personal…

Is 10,000 non exercise steps a day in the active category?
I get anywhere from 10,000-11,000 steps a day outside of exercise. If I have less than that I do a 30 minute walk to get them and don't include that in my exercise. Would this count as being active?

Is it possible to tone muscle and loose 5-7 pounds at the same time?
I know the calories in vs. calories out works. Following that with the help up myfitnesspal I lost 30 pounds. Then holidays and the flu got me out of my routine and I gained 12 back. I have since lost 7 of that. I have the cardio down but I have not been consistent with weight training/ toning. So I started working with a…

Apple Watch Versus Polar Heart Rate Monitor
Good Morning! So I lost 28 pounds and gained 5 so now my goal is to loose 9. I know I can do it. I got sick, it was the holidays and I quit logging food. Now I am back on it. The keys to my success were logging everything I ate, working out and making sure I got 10,000 steps a day. I need to work on drinking more water…

Quick question about activity level?
I am currently walking 10,000 -13,000 steps a day separate from exercise. I have my activity set as active? Is that correct? Thanks and have a great weekend!!

How did you decide what your goal weight was/is?
I am 5.3 and started at 155.5. My goal was 135 pounds. I got there and thought this wasn't too hard so I started aiming for 125. I am almost there. I am at 128. I am down from a large and a 12 to a medium/small and size 6. I still have some hips and butt however I am in the best shape at 47 then I have ever been. I could…

A question about activity level
So I have lost 1-1.5 pounds a week consistently for a little over 4 months. Now that the weather is nicer and I am in better shape I have increased my steps. I get 9500-12000 steps a day consistently. Should I change my activity level from lightly active to active? These steps do not include my intentional exercise. Thank…

Having trouble staying asleep
I have had trouble the last couple of weeks staying asleep for longer than three hours at a time. Sometimes it can take more than an hour to get back asleep. I don’t drink caffeinne after 10 am so it’s not that. I got to thinking that around that time I have only been eating 1200-1400 calories a day. I know that is a lot…

I have lost 25 pounds and have about 11 more to go.
I am 5"3 and I am 131 pounds. I started at 155.5. I feel good about my results. I lost about 1.5 pounds a week but it has slowed down now. I am still doing everything exactly the same. I am going on vacation in 3 weeks and plan to eat at maintenance. I am torn on keeping at 1 pound a week and going down to .5. Its not due…
