  • Make sure the instructor helps you set the bike up properly for your height, and don't get discouraged if your butt is sore at first, if you continue going, you will develop some glute muscles that will help with the discomfort. : )
  • The great thing about strength training (weights) is that your metabolism stays elevated for a longer period of time than cardio workouts. Don't get me wrong; cardio is very important to work off that fat and strengthen your heart/blood pressure and overall health. Try to incorporate 3 days of strength training weekly,…

  • Try iced green tea with one splenda, or some natural honey. Green tea helps you loose weight, and is a good source of antioxidants.
  • Butterfliblu, I got all kinds of numbers of the internet... Some said you burn 400 and some said 800. On Average I burn between 500 and 600 calories during a 1 hour of turbo kickboxing class. Taking the class tonight! I am 5'7" and weigh approx 138.
  • I have been told by a number of licensed trainers, that you can not rely on a website to tell you average calories burned. Each person is different. The advise I have gotten, is to purchase a Heart Rate Monitor and use it during your pilates session to give you an accurate count. I had tried to find out avg calories burned…

It tells you your heart rate, how many minutes you were in the "zone", what your highest heart rate was, how many calories you burned…

  • I share you water drinking problem, but recently I purchased a large bottle that I fill up in the morning, (more then 8 glasses worth) I keep it at my desk at work. Also, it helps with the environment because I'm not always throwing away a lot of office-supplied styrofoam cups.

A salmonell outbreak in the Southwestern U.S. has been tied to large varieties of tomatoes. Lab tests have confirmed 40 illnesses in Texas and New Mexico as the same type of…

  • Yikes! I didn't read about the "depends issues". Thanks for the compliment. That's a really good picture!!! haha. I have lost 20 lbs, and I just want 10 to 15lbs more. Based on my height, 15 lbs will still be within the healthy range based on my BMI. Also, I take group exercise classes, ie: kickboxing, pilates, yoga, body…
  • It's a weight loss pill that prevents your body from absorbing 100% of the fat you eat. The pill is supposed to allow you body to pass up to 50% of the fat.
  • I have decided to try Alli. I know it can have some embarrassing side effects, but it is the only pill I have read about that's FDA approved, and it doesn't seem to cause anxiety. Has anyone tried it? Negative/positive results??? I have reached a plateau, (eating healthy and excercising regularly). I hope this works!
  • The gym is not a waste of money if you use it. I was just like you! For years I had a gym membership, but wasn't using it. I changed my perspective on it. For one, I got a personal trainer. (Only for a few weeks because it can be expensive.) I told the trainer what exercises I liked, and those that I hated, and…
