I would love to be your fasting friend:) my brother is a fasting true believer so convinced me to give it a serious try. So I’ve been doing it for about a month with a few exceptions. Started at 16:8, then 18:6, today is day 4 of 20:4, my eating window is 2p-6p. I’d say my absolute VERY favorite part of this IF journey has…

Thanks dasher for quoting the great info

I’m exactly where you’re at; day 3 of a 3day keto kickstart. Did it to see if I actually COULD eat this way. And will most definitely keep going, because just 2 days in, my gut feels better 🤣 I think bread is no bueno for me 🤣🤣 I haven’t picked up the keto sticks or anything yet, like Zamirasoni said above, it takes time…

Oops I’m sorry I didn’t read the post to the bottom and applied to the group. Ignore my request, I haven’t been doing keto long enough. I’ll find another one! Thank you

Even though I found this thread months late, I appreciate your honesty. I feel the same way (foodfoodFOOD!) struggle every damn day, and my difficulty in controlling it is visible to people (my overweight) even though I don't talk about it (ashamed of being food addicted). Crazy thing is, I'm a fitness instructor, I'm the…

Yes, the Food Guide Pyramid and Myplate.gov are both outdated, but many programs still teach them.

Favorite Quest bars: Cookies & Cream, Mint Chocolate Chip. My other very tasty go-to is Lenny & Larry's Complete Cookie Double Chocolate, but only eat 1/2 cookie at a time. Don't worry, that's easy, as they are satisfying.

Yea, and on the flip side, in the Spinning studio I teach in it is kept quite cold; a few of the students complain that it is too cold and to turn on the heat. I just laugh and wink and tell them to get on the bike and warm up themselves because the studio will be too hot in no time. They don't realize they won't want the…

They gym I actually train with my trainer at is all free weights & racks & old school powerlifting equipment. The gym I work at is more convenient to use but has soo many more shiny new machines that I have to hunt to find the equipment that will work with the workouts my trainer gave me. I've always been under the…

^^this is a tough thing for women to get our minds around. But this is what my personal trainer is recommending to me also. Us women have been told "lower calories" and "cardio cardio cardio" all along, but muscle is the key to metabolism, I think.

Tough one. Injuries are tough to stay motivated through. Don't give up! Do you have a bike you can ride to work? Then take the long way home? Biking is easy on joints/knees. Does that gym have a pool? A swim, shower, then straight to work? Keep your "getting ready for work" stuff in a bag in your car so you don't have to…

Don't worry Crystal ndj and others just come on these forums to try to make people feel dumb or bad. It makes them feel tough. like a bully or something. It IS a poor advertising plan/gimmick. It is untruthful. If you had joined, imagine how they would be with your credit card number if you for some reason had to stop your…

Good job! You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your journey. (:

^^ This. As a fitness instructor, my opinion is that when you have a fair amount of fat to lose, a combination of strength and cardio works quicker than just strength training alone. Building muscle is very important, muscles are the furnace that burns the fat. But you gotta put in a little fat burning time as well! Your…

Don't eat raw cauli if you have thyroid problems!

Lower carb diets are not 0 carb diets and can be very useful. I have been following a lower carb diet since Nov, it is the only way I can reduce calories without serious cravings like bread and sweets. Don't just dismiss it, look into it. Really good honest logging, seeing what is truly going into your body, is a huge…

Hi! I bought a Fitbit One and washed it the first time I wore it. So I returned it, they were very nice, sent me a new one. I am a Spinning & Bodypump instructor; I was bummed that after back to back workouts, drenched in sweat, I only had a short little flower. I think it must be for more impact sports like walking,…

Weighed at gym then went home and weighed. same clothes, tho no sox. Do the metal sensors make it more accurate? (one can only hope?) :)

Sure! Strike up a conversation! You can only start there! You can't make them decide to go out with you before you start with the basics. No pressure! Just a casual easy introduction. You may decide you don't really want to go out with them after all!! haha

Thx Frutti. I get where you are coming from. Thankfully I am not the addictive type, having been on the meanest pain killers of all, including the Fentnyl (sp) patch, and got off them without incident. I am always grateful to get off pain meds as the side effects (esp gastro) are awful. I have a drink (once in a while 2)…

I'm doing induction. Don't worry people, it is only for two weeks, to break a carb addiction. Please don't scare her! it is safe. :)

Like McDonald's or hate them, the owners, the the Krocs, have helped cities get fit and healthy through the Salvation Army by building Kroc centers across America. These are amazing family centered fitness and activity centers that are funded largely by a trust fund set up by the Krocs but each town has some skin in the…
