Boycott cauliflower

In for a general boycott of the entire Brassica family.0

Ha! I've been here for years..this is the first I've heard of a cauliflower complaint as well.0
-
NEVER will I boycott cauliflower, I love it. Great for dipping, excellent curried (steam it, then sautee in olive oil, red curry, cashews, chives, cilantro and lime juice) YUM! Makes a great soup with a little bacon. Always good in a stirfry. Good and good for you. Potatoes are okay but they will never be cauliflower.
Everything you mentioned covers up or masks the taste of the cauliflower.... curry, bacon, dips, etc.0 -
Am I the only one who finds cauliflower crust pizza more yummy than regular pizza?
I use a recipe with lots of spices and cheese on the crust. So yummy. My husband is not a fan though0 -
Sad, I loooooove (cooked) cauliflower. I can eat an ENTIRE head of roasted cauliflower (with lots of Old Bay seasoning...mmm).
But I also am tired of the "cauliflower-as-substitute" trend. If I want mashed potatoes, rice, or pizza crust, I will eat those foods.
Although I have to admit, I do sometimes put marinara sauce and cheese on cauliflower instead of pasta. But that is because I genuinely like cauliflower better than pasta sometimes!0 -
it's excellent roasted in a hot oven with broccoli and cabbage (if you want),olive oil, garlic, and lemon pepper. No cabbage-y taste!0
-
You obviously haven't tried my buffalo chicken cauliflower souffle. It's freakin' fantastic.0
-
Roasted with olive oil and sea salt, it is delicious!0
-
I'll admit, I really and truly love mashed cauliflower with garlic. I also like cauliflower in my mixed veg in stir fry and deep fried cauliflower. Om nom nom.0
-
Don't eat raw cauli if you have thyroid problems!0

Yes. :cauliflowerforyou:0 -
This is all news to me. What the eff are you going on about?
This!0 -

Cauliflower is great when it's actually cauliflower. Using it as a substitute for something else is just wrong.
This! Curry and red onion cauliflower---yum! Cauliflower crust pizza/ "breadsticks"---NO!
Do you have a recipe for that? Sounds good.
I was gonna get excited, and share here.0 -
I actually like cauliflower as cauliflower and covered with melted cheese, but yes it should be boycotted as substitutions for anything else!0

Did you just discover there were forums today?0 -
haha that was a good one!0 -

As long as you're not substituting the actual chicken for cauliflower...0 -
I am shocked at the number of people who have been here for years, and have no clue about the use of cauliflower as a substitute for various foods.0

I can only get on board so far in boycotting its use as a substitute for awesomeness...I like it when used appropriately and as intended...and I'm a big fan of Aloo Gobi.0

I love cauliflower bread sticks or cauliflower cheese sticks both have the same ingredients, mashed cauliflower in different shapes!0 -
I have found a killer casserole that uses cauliflower as the base. My husband and kids devour it... but since you're all boycotting cauliflower, I'll keep this little gem to myself. That's too bad too. It's got cheese and ham and chicken and sour cream and all kinds of yummy goodness in it. :flowerforyou:0

I had the same thought.0 -

Don't tell me what to do!0

I'm willing to jump on this bandwagon as long as said cauliflower isn't covered in cheese and bacon. Everything is better with bacon.
Well said.
And me too - that's what I'm having for dinner tonight - cauliflower, broccoli, bacon, mushrooms and leeks, all baked together in a cheese sauce with mozzarella and parmesan crust. And I'm so looking forward to it!0 -
Read this article yesterday and nearly spit my coffee all over my keyboard, about 20 times. NOT a safe read with a cup of coffee, or any other beverage. I'm certain the author of the article would totally be on board with this thread.

I lost it at this line...0 -
I love cauliflower so much that it is no longer enough for me to eat it. I am going to start wearing it as a hat just like this woman
