Ok, so I don't know much about Cystic Fibrosis beyond what we discussed in my Medical Nutrition Therapy Class, and I don't have any personal experience with C.F, HOWEVER: I like to look at food as what it is: nourishment. Different people have different nourishment needs, right? A person with CF will always need those…

Most vegans know this, but both whey and casein are milk products.

Keep in mind that most people in relationships eventually take on the habits of one another. Either he's going to have to learn to eat veggies or you'll eventually stop eating them.

Nope, I actually live an hour away from my school and had been travelling. And I don't get stressed in doctors offices, I'm in the healthcare field. There's not much that can bother me about it anymore.

If you've set your goal to lose a pound a week, MFP gives you a calorie deficit of 500 calories from what you would need to maintain your weight. For example right now I have mine set to lose a pound a week, so MFP tells me to eat 1510 calories. I can eat anywhere from 1510 - 2010 without gaining weight, and indeed will…

I quit smoking in 2009 after suffering from chronic lung issues such as bronchitis for most of my life (grew up with two smokers, smoked from 20 - 26) and have not been sick since. I was in and out of emergency rooms for most of my early 20's, even though I was thin. I'd get sick around October and STAY SICK until July.…

Another one! I'm Katherine, I live in York county and commute to SMCC (South Portland) for school. I'm studying Dietetic Technology (nutrition) and am trying to shed some pounds before I get into the workforce again. I went through and added a bunch of people in the thread, if you didn't get a request from me feel free to…

Both! Fun, isn't it? Two things to remember: you need some fat in your diet. Healthy fats come from things like nuts, seeds, avocado, and fish. Eating less processed, lower calorie foods will let you eat MORE FOOD for less calories! A good rule of thumb is to make half your plate veggies or fruit, and then divide the other…

My thought here is that you need to take a deep breath, listen to your body, and forgive yourself for eating the cake. A pound - a pound comes and goes from water weight/salt retention! Maybe take a break from weighing yourself - a week of no scale?

Whole grain english muffin with nut butter and flax Oatmeal (steel cut oats are best but anything is better than nothing - even the instant packets) with fresh fruit added in A banana with a handful of raw nuts An apple with 1/2 whole grain bagel and 1 to 1 1/2 tblsp fat free cream cheese (tip: try adding veggies like…

WOW did you say anything to the employee, maybe the person at the desk?! You could have been seriously injured - they really should know better!

Walk!

I realize about the HRM, but at the moment one isn't in our budget. I think I'm going to categorize what I'm doing right now as shoveling - and then use the gardening activity listed in the database for the rest.

If/when I have kids, they are NOT eating school food. Or fast food. Or processed "hamburgers". What the hell ever happened to shaping your own patties out of beef from the butcher? The state of "food" in this country really is just sick.

Natskedat what do you have your activity level set at? It looks like it has you super high for calories, and then with workouts (and eating exercise calories back) it looks like you're really over eating unless you're a construction worker. Please note: I've been eating like crap, myself. Not being judgy, just surprised at…

I slacked so hard from last Wednesday to yesterday - I didn't walk or exercise at all! I did walk around Wal*mart for about an hour on Sunday... bleh. Today, though, I did 1.4 miles in 30 minutes. Woo! It's getting easier, too - even with all that time I didn't do anything, I noticed that the HUGE hill I climb didn't knock…

I would say that if his current doctors wont refer you to a dietician (which is, I suspect, what you want, rather than a nutritionist, as a dietician is licensed), either a) find a new doctor or b) find the dietician yourself and, if you can afford it, pay out of pocket/try to get insurance to cover it without the referal.

I had a coupon and so bought these this week instead of the chobani I was planning to. They're ok. So far I've had a blueberry and a strawberry. I don't think I'll buy the fruit on the bottom ones again - I'd prefer to add my own fruit. Honey flavor is next.

I saw a coupon for this and so checked it out at the grocery store - you're right - too many chemicals. I'll stick to plain old water! For those of you who really hate the taste of water, have any of you thought about using non caffeinated herbal teas? Brew up a gallon, sweeten with your sweetener of choice (steevia,…

I'm just watching portions and eating more veggies and healthy things ... swapping out whole wheat pasta and brown rice for their more processed counterparts, avoiding really fatty things and cookies. I can't stand following all sorts of rules, so I just try to eat sensibly, count calories, and when I want something, I eat…

Oh I sound like a lush but really good microbrew beers - those low-cal, mass produced, soulless things just are NOT the same.

Hey I'm in southern Maine!

And then you can enter it into the database yourself!

Honestly I can forgive someone for messing up things like loose/lose there/they're/their but what drives me crazy is when people either type liek thiz ya no itz liek rilly anoyin , or misspell words. Don't most browsers have spell check build in now?

American! Somewhere between 5'4 - 5'5 192 pounds Wearing a six 16, but it's falling off of me Size large tops

As long as you count the calories in them I don't see why it would be a problem. I use panko bread crumbs to coat chicken and fish when we want something that seems fried but isn't. Just watch the sodium - the seasoned bread crumbs are really high in sodium!
-
Any brown rice - right now I'm using Trader Joe's Organic Brown Jasmine because I got it on sale for like $1.50 for 3 pounds.

It's still raining here - did a mile and couldn't take water running down my face anymore. Bleh.
