I stick to about 1200 to 1400 calories a day even when I am exercising. For a woman, I don't think 1200 is unreasonable. I try to get lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and watch my protein intake. If you are having trouble losing weight though, you might want to increase your calories.

LOVE yoga--even though I am pretty terrible at it. I find it extremely beneficial for my body, mind & soul.

Bariatric surgery, MFP, Weight Watchers, alli, ect.--all of these are tools to help you lose weight. Different things work for different people. I am all for programs, surgery, weight-loss blogs & apps, but under no circumstance would I take a pill to lose weight. I work with bariatric surgical patients in a complete…

I have a very supportive husband who always tells me I am beautiful & didn't need to lose weight until it affected my health. Now he is very encouraging. Oh--you are so not alone!! I was weighing myself every week, but going into the holidays, I avoided the scale because I didn't want to change the decisions I was making. The longer I went the easier it was to avoid. I "faced the music" last week, and although, I was unhappy with the number, I found it very motivating. I am…

I am not sure if my weight goal is what I look the best at because I haven't been that weight since the 6th grade, but I can tell you that I will still be 17 lbs "overweight" according to the charts when I hit my goal.
-
Well done!!!

Take it one step at a time! I just hit 50 lbs today! 52.3 to be exact  I've been really trying to focus less on the number and more on how I feel. My first goal was to lower my cholesterol.

Brought a tear to my eye, too. Good luck and congratulations on your progress thus far!
