I have been avoiding the scales for about four weeks now. How many others are doing that? Am I alone in this? Well, today I am getting ready for work and my size large scrubs are sooo tight I can hardly breathe. So, I am forced to start weighing my food (and myself)...I gained 8 pounds over the Christmas holidays! OUCH!! So, today is the day, to restart... or tomorrow I go to work in my pajamas, because I got rid of my 2x and 3x scrub bottoms. It feels so good to "get over" the dread of seeing how much I gained. So, now I am +++ again!

I weigh myself every day in the morning after waking up. I know my weight fluctuates naturally, but I graph my weight over time and I like to have lots of data points to get the overall trend.

I rarely weigh myself..I haven't done so since October....I really don't care about the scale. The next time I get a BF assessment is when I'll know my weight (Late Jan or early Feb)

I avoided the scale too so, you aren't alone. I maintained (thankfully) although I felt pretty crappy towards the end of December. It was good motivation to get back on track.

I avoided the scale for several months... felt the clothes getting tighter, but oh, it was just "shrunken jeans" or "monthly bloat" so I continued to eat junky junk and sit on my butt instead of going out for walks. I finally mustered up the courage and was shocked at my 20 pound gain. Now I am on track to get it OFF and I am glad I faced the music. Who knows how much more I would have gained if I hadn't seen *THAT* number.

Congrats to you on the new start! I'm right there with you!
  • Oh--you are so not alone!! I was weighing myself every week, but going into the holidays, I avoided the scale because I didn't want to change the decisions I was making. The longer I went the easier it was to avoid. I "faced the music" last week, and although, I was unhappy with the number, I found it very motivating. I am back to tracking my food and that is helping a lot. I am down 3 pounds this week!
  • Thanks everyone, today has been very, very good, I feel so much better since I know what I am dealing with, mostly myself!
