  • MaryJane I'm so sorry to hear that happened. My brother and his family were stabbed during a break-in several years ago so as crazy as it is, I do know what you are feeling. My advice would to be to go to that therapy session, or if you just can't do it try to be around family today - that's what helped me. We are all here…
  • Thanks for your reply. It means a lot just to have someone to talk to right now. I've been reaching for the chocolate all day but finally went out for a walk, had a little cry. It was a good thing. I'm really going to have to stick to my guns...and learn how to cope because I don't see this year getting any easier. I…
  • Well I'm bumping this up partly to see if I can get more encouragement in general and partly because I need to get something off my chest. My husband is the only person I can talk to about this and I don't want to keep bothering him with my internal struggle. I have no one else to tell because all of my friends are too…
  • Awesome, thanks for your suggestions! I'll be on the lookout for both of those.
  • I know doctors were better than forums. I've already done without for 4 days and won't be able to get in for 3 more days. I just didn't want to lose my momentum.
  • I get up at 5:20 on workout days and I try to get to bed by 10:30 but it's usually more like 11.
  • You are all extremely motivating! I'm going home after work to take a bunch of before pics! I can't wait until I can post my after's here! Seriously, amazing job everyone!
  • What kind of info do you need? We're sisters. We're doing a 5k. It's a color run. It's a fun deal. Names that were taken were like Twisted Sisters and Miss Adventures.
  • I think you guys are right, old habits die hard. I'm a classic yo-yoer so that doesn't help the situation. Unfortunately my food logs are incomplete because once I hit that 2pm I just don't even log I feel like such a failure. Sitting here bored at my desk doesn't help (I'm busy but gosh this work is boring.) I'm going to…
  • You look great! I love that dress too!
  • Best thread I've ever seen on this forum.
  • Whatever! They gained a customer in me. I love that creepy king, but don't really love the food.
  • You are mostly right. A lot of us have forgotten where we started. However, the real tragedy is that most of my life I have been reading labels and education myself - I knew pretty much the basics since my mid teens and I STILL choose (and sometimes still do) choose the unhealthy options. At least the people that aren't…
  • Now now, I make a healthy version of the green bean casserole. Here's the recipe: Green beans. ;) How do people not get that just because there are veggies in something doesn't make it healthy!? My dad was obsessed with weight and working out when I was younger and was very critical of everything we ate (this is just one…
  • The You Are Your Own Gym has 4 10 week routines so it's extremely easy to follow. http://www.marklauren.com/ But if one of the exercises in the routine doesn't work with your foot situation, there are a lot of different exercises you can switch it up with. He has an app also that's really easy to use and shows you exactly…
  • Haha my thoughts exactly!
  • I love it! I think a major killer of vacation is that you don't usually have snacks around a hotel so when you do go for food you are starving and just pick whatever option. By having snacks you are going to keep yourself from getting starving and it will probably remind you to eat a little healthier, even though there is…
  • Huge victory! I was in the same position years ago, the difference is you actually did something about it! I hope you are so proud of yourself! We'd all love to see a pic of you in the dress! ;)
  • Why yes I can. I just read and started getting into "You are your own gym". It's fascinating and focuses on losing weight through only weight lifting. It's very informative and I think you'll be surprised by some stuff in there. The great thing is you use pretty much only your body, it's meant to be an at home thing rather…
  • Well it sounds like you aren't done after all, and that's great! Please take the advice and support that everyone here has offered you. Sometimes life is just hard and you will naturally get through it, and sometimes you have depression which probably won't go away on it's own. Are their friends/family members you can talk…

  • I'm in the boat too. 5'3" and 238 BOOO! The last 3 plans I've researched following have all been very serious about the weight training with extremely minimal if any cardio along with high protein diets. My husband and I started one of the plans yesterday and my muscles are really feeling it! It has me feeling like I can…
  • Sounds like you need to get more fiber and protein in your diet if you are over your calories but still hungry to the point of stomach growling. Good idea though to "close the kitchen". It's a good way to stop the late night over snacking!
  • Bump...come on encouragers!
  • Ew this just reminded me of a terrible experience. In high school this guy stopped me in the hall and said "You are pretty hot, I'd have s** with you if you weren't so fat." There are SO many things wrong with that experience, calling me fat is the least of it! Why are people like this?
  • I don't like sushi either but you should try a veggie roll or a surf and turf roll (usually seared beef and shrimp), and even ask for it with a soy wrapper instead of seaweed. I've had them and they are pretty good. It's a good way to go out with friends even when they go to a sushi place!
  • I have started and stopped Insanity so many times, because it is tough and a big commitment, but you are motivating me to give it another try!
  • Oh my gosh I love this so much! I'm going to have to share this with a few friends. The running thing sounds like a good idea. Sometimes I get too much in my own head and can't enjoy it. I need to learn to let things go.
  • After reading some of the comebacks I got to thinking "You'd be so stunning if" and I wish I could come back with "Thanks. Gosh I don't know what you could do that would make you stunning. Oh well genes are genes"
  • I also have such a pretty face. Well, I do ;) but I'm sick of it! haha. You know butterface - her body is awesome but her face, ug!? I like to say I'm a butterbody. See it's 2 fold because I am so pretty "but her body ug!", and it's a body made courtesy of butter. Joking aside though, yes I am sick of people telling me I…
