Hey I’m David, in the Midwest U.S. Gained some weight over the winter and really need weight loss buddies. This app is the only thing that worked for me in the past.

Uh yeah, who wouldn't?

BMI is a joke, at least for me. I have bigger frame. A few years ago, I was riding my bike 125 miles a week and weighed a little over 200. Some nurses came to my workplace, they went by the numbers and told me I was nearly obese. I was like "seriously"?, I mean my thighs were all muscle and I have a big chest. Had a little…

We can't do this alone! I always like seeing the login and exercise updates from others. It's inspiring. Friend me!

Great post, nice to find like minds. Bumping this again. When I can find a good craft beer around 150 calories, I can indulge in a few and still fit the calories in my goal, or go over a bit. Have a good workout the same day, and it opens it up a bit. ;)

I'm going to order pizza with my boys. I'm not going to splurge, just have a couple pieces and record them in my food diary. Maybe a couple beers. I had better work out this day. :)

I have the same worry. Good topic here. And I think others already summed it up. Basically you will lose muscle, I am already losing muscle. And like they said, you need to eat protein and lift weights. I am starting to add more weights in myself. But I accept that I will lose some muscle with the deficit I am at. I'm more…

Good question. I went out the other night, didn't deny myself anything. But I controlled my portions. No appetizers. I still had bread, just one slice. Didn't like the salad, so skipped. And I ate an appropriate portion of food. Basically a cup of this and a cup of that. And I had one beer. It really doesn't take a scale…

I'm 44 and new here. I'm sending you guys FR's.

That's a good question. I do. I feel I can eat them back since I exercised AND my total calories after burning is still under my goal calories. Sure, I could lose faster (maybe) if I didn't eat those back, but I want to feel good to. :) Additionally, I have my "goal" set to 2 pounds a week, so my daily intake it pretty low…

Yes, I am here.

I could always use more peeps.

I've been addicted to running for over twenty years. I have never been interesting in running "races" - 10k's etc.. So I don't know much about training, but I would think you can do 10 mi six months from now. I only do it for stress relief and exercise, so I have only ever run to "feel good", never paid attention to…

I'm 44 with 25+ pounds to lose. Feel free to add me, anyone. Thanks.

"Healthy Pizza" is more or less an oxymoron isn't it? Just kidding, it's my favorite food, and I consider it one of my four food groups, ;) I really like the idea of using a low carb tortilla! I made paleo pizza crust once, with cauliflower and almond flower, but it was weird and not a big hit. Now, my family uses a gluten…

I did a similar diet called the "fat flush plan". With the no carbs I. Felt. Miserable. Running was so weird with no carbs, it's like you can't do it. However, I did lose a lot of weight fast. But now I'm back, and I'm not doing that kind of miserable "diet" again. I would rather just make good food decisions.

Well, I'm a little torn. Actually, I do see it as a testament to what we are all doing here. Isn't it? It's about choices and counting calories. So I do think it is smart and interesting. On the other hand, I also see it as kind of ignorant. You seriously don't want to even consider that stuff "food". It may provide some…

I came across it randomly on the internet. I signed up just a few days ago, and I really like the way it works and I have it on my phone. I hope I can stick to this, probably need support, which is why I am on the forums.

I would suggest all here to read the book "wheat belly". Modern bread is terrible for you, and whole grains are even worse. I am just learning all of this now. One of the main reasons is the glycemic index of bread. Bread makes you hungrier, bread makes you crave more foods. It is a major contributor to the…

I agree, that was weird for him to invite himself, or "assume" you would be partners, and then get pissed when you said no. I've never had many friends, so I don't know what it's like to workout with a partner. But I am fine working out alone, and just getting it done.

Great job for making the decision. You can do it! I see a lot of inspiring individuals on this site, as I notice the amount they have lost. Just count them calories and get off the couch. Baby steps at first. :)

Hi folks. I'm 44, and up in Wisconsin, where the temp is now dropping to -20F tonight. Speaking of dropping, I'd like to drop about 20 - 25 pounds by summer at least. I've always exercised a lot, but recently let myself go a little. My pants don't fit, always fall down because of my gut pushing on them, very annoying. Time…

I'm new too. I'll be visiting the forums from time to time, just started the MFP. Digging it....
