Fantastic job so far! You are doing a lot of changes at once? I started the same thing Jan 1st this year. Trainer 3 times a week and walking the rest days. No garbage food and even the GNC shakes which I enjoy. I lost 13 pounds in the first 3 weeks with this changes alone. I kept it up for 4 months and then cottage time…

You know what? We all have things we do that we are not proud of. We are human....we develop patterns and personal demons. They don't have to last forever!! I think a lot of people on this website have struggled with food and exercise. I think it would be a good idea to talk to your doc who can recommend a good person to…

wow!!! I love that idea of adding the pumpkin and cinnamon....I'm going to try this for sure.

I'm in medical sales and would recommend an orthopaedic support during any type of exercise.....not a cure, but will support your ankle until surgery (of course only if your doctor gives you the green light to be somewhat active) Your choices are limited to non-weight bearing activities. Swimming, spinning or simple push…

i am dying laughing at your picture because I just started doing Zumba and love it.

wow congratulations on the weight loss! I too am on the road for my job, and in an airport a couple of times a month. I pack a lunch everyday now if I am driving. And I am learning to check out restaurants before taking a client for dinner...if I am prepared its easy.

i love your healthy approach!

Thanks! You too! There is a balance I'm sure of eating lighter through the week and then you don't worry about a bit of pub grub on the weekend. I'm hoping to get there...but after I lose the weight. I also think I need to stop weighing myself daily because if I do eat something salty or greasy I just torture myself with…

As soon as I walk in the door after work and all hell breaks loose - I have 2 large glasses of water and then get changed into my comfies......getting out of work mode and into dinner mode is always tough. Before I even start dinner I have a third glass of water and then a Greek 50 calorie yougert. A lot of water yes, but…

I have to say WOW!!!! So inspiring!! I had gained a lot of weight after having my 2 kids and had so much loose skin that I had a tummy tuck and breast reduction. I used to duct tape my belly and breasts when I went jogging from the pain of the sensitive skin bouncing around. The surgery was The BEST thing I ever did. It…

This was me for about 10 years of my life. That's when I took the bull by the horns and with my doctors advice I had a hysterectomy in May 2013. Yes it solved all of my cramping and nasty days in bed....however I also gained 15 pounds and I'm talking in my belly!!!!! Pure belly fat! NASTY!!!!! Like burning one evil for…

i hear you on the "changes"........

Wow! I had my hysterectomy in May of 2013 and have put on 15 pounds to my already overweight body..... Since Jan this year I have lost 8, but it has been so difficult. I think the change in the hormones and the fact that I will be 43 as well in May has slowed my metabolism. So........sorry to say it but you have to work…

hey Girl - if your are doing some cardio each day, it's better then not doing anything!! It's like quitting smoking - you can try a hundred times but you will know when you are ready and will do it, I am the biggest yo yo dieter around.....I work so hard to lose 20 pounds and then gain it all back because I feel confident…

It does seem low......is there any soda in it? The bar mixes are not usually fresh juice and will contain more sugar. You can always have the booze and ask for diet ginger ale or soda with just a splash of juice!!!
-
I have cut out all booze for the past 2 weeks and am down 8 pounds. Sounds like we have similar drinking habits. My husband and I love to head to the local pub on the weekend for a few drinks and I really love having a glass of wine at the end of the day.... I lost 30 pounds a few years ago and the only way I could do it…

I am coming up just shy of my 1200 daily calorie intake. However I do have 3 cups of coffee each day with coffee mate that would bring up the calories. I think that we underestimate the calories we consume in a day as well. And portions. Make sure when you record your food that you are being honest with the amount and the…

Wow.....I'm embarrassed. I'm rich!!!

You do deserve it!!! I think as parents we feel this guilt to take time for ourselves....but when those little sweet babies become teenagers from hell - you need an outlet and time to focus on you! :). Best of luck on your journey Feel free to add me! I'm new too.

I have read that the key to keeping weight off is 80 percent food intake and 20 percent exercise.....not too sure if this is in fact the truth but it seems to make sense to me. A bit of both would be the best...finding that balance. I want to be able to enjoy a special dinner out without feeling guilty!
-
Clearly I can't figure out how to reply to certain posts.....do I need to get my teenager to help me???? Lol Thanks for all of the support and info!
-
I love the packing a lunch every day! The key is to be prepared right? Have all of your food ready for the next day so you don't run into a hunger issue. Small changes are the best. This week I am off the couch and shovelling snow like a crazy woman...lol Best of luck to you too.

KFC??? You're killing me over here! Lol

hey Wendy! My name is Tina and I am brand new to this website. I have also lost a bunch of weight 3 years ago, about 30 pounds......then I got back into my old habits of drive-thrus and pubs with the girls. It took about a year to gain the 30 back....I also had surgery last summer I have now managed to pack on an…
