Ahhh Dinner Sabotage

I did so good yesterday, but I was so hungry when I got home from work that I went HOG wild, literally. I need to find foods during the day that keep me feeling somewhat full so I don't go NUTS when I get home from work. I thought I had enough snacks, but I guess not. I hate sabotaging myself at dinner time.

I have to be very careful and not come home starving from work or I'll tend to eat food while I'm cooking. What I've tried to do is keep an apple in my purse or a bag of mini carrots to munch on while I drive or right before I leave the office so that I'm not starving when I come through the door. Also, try popping a piece of minty gum in your mouth on the drive. For some reason this seems to curb my hunger.0

I do this, too. When I come home from work, I've just come from work then the gym, I'm starving and I have to make dinner, which means I am forced to stay in a room filled with food while I can see and smell food cooking.
The best solution I've come up with is to have a protein shake or bar on the 7 minute drive home from the gym, then while dinner is cooking, leave the room as much as possible. Believe me, it's not perfect but it does curb some of the binges. Another thing I've tried is snacking on something like carrots while I'm cooking, but that seems to make it worse for me, not better. It's like opening the floodgates. I eat a few carrots, then a hunk of cheese begins to call my name, then, since I've ruined my calorie count anyway, a few tablespoons of peanut butter on a slice of bread couldn't hurt . . .

I do this too. Usually, I eat some greek yogurt about 15-30 minutes before I leave the office. That usually ties me over until dinner can be made.0

As soon as I walk in the door after work and all hell breaks loose - I have 2 large glasses of water and then get changed into my comfies......getting out of work mode and into dinner mode is always tough. Before I even start dinner I have a third glass of water and then a Greek 50 calorie yougert. A lot of water yes, but never do I have room to snack before dinner is on the table!!!0

Fiber and Protein are suppose to help. Try a snack with those one of those (protein bar, fiber bar, yogurt, hard boiled egg).0

I did alot better last night. I spaced out my snacks so that when I got home I wasn't as famished as I had been the night before. Thank you for all your advice, it really helps alot.0
