  • I'm experiencing a similar thing... I've been on birth control for the last 15 year - recently low estrogen pills taken continuously. I stopped the pill about a month ago and have consistently gained 2 lbs per week. I've been measuring, too, and my hips and breasts have added inches. I follow the same eating plan and track…
  • Anybody try 21 Day Fix workouts?
  • I'd like to join! How do we join the group? Thanks!
  • I love the FitBit One. You can clip it to your pants or bra strap, and you don't have to worry about if you wear another watch (I used my Garmin ForeRunner at the gym). Plus, you can hide it out of sight :) They provide a wrist wrap for sleeping with it.
  • I have the Fitbit One (I don't think the Zip monitors sleep, but check on this). I love the One - especially the sleep tracking and the step counting. It motivates me to walk more. However, I also have a Garmin Forerunner 210 with a heart rate monitor strap, and that's the best thing for workouts and fitness classes. I'm a…

  • Yay! Getting married on June 14, 2014. A little under three months to go! I joined MFP in January and did really well for the first month, pretty well for February, and then just got back from a trip to Baja where I didn't do well, so I'm trying to get back on track. First dress fitting is April 12 - woo hoo!
  • I had been eating back all of my exercise calories and using the net calorie goal MFP provided for me (1210). I found that on days that I worked out (I usually work out twice a day four times a week, and once a day the other two days with Sundays off), I had no problems and wasn't hungry. However, on Sundays, when I had to…
  • June 14th! Trying to tone up -- lose some fat and gain muscle. I've started lifting again. Feel free to add me!
  • I think it's a lot lower impact than Insanity. He really only has you do half-tuck jumps, never full ones like in Insanity. I think it's easier on my knees! Good luck.
  • If you have FitBit connect downloaded on your computer, you can just choose "sync now" whenever you want it to sync. It show up in my toolbar on my mac. However, it usually syncs on its own whenever I'm close to the computer :)
  • I had been eating back all of my exercise calories, but I just met with a nutritionist yesterday. MFP had given me 1210 calories as my net calorie goal. The nutritionist changed my net calorie goal to 1400 (which will help on the days off where I don't workout) and then advised that on days where I work out 1.5 hours, to…
  • I'm doing T25 now. I've done Insanity and P90X before. T25 is definitely easier, but it's also shorter (which I love). 25 min and you're done. I do it every morning and supplement with lifting and swimming in the evenings.
  • Google it - you'll mind millions! Have fun.
  • The new cookies 'n cream bars are pretty good! Big chunks of Oreo-like cookies. Yum. I wish they wouldn't make them so sweet. I know Stevia is sweeter than sugar, but some of the flavors are disgustingly sweet. I'd rather have them taste more natural.
  • I would guess 24-25%. Glad you are feeling healthy!
  • Thanks, everyone! Much appreciated!
  • Sorry - I wasn't clear. I meant the difference between eating back all of my calories (usually 800-900 burned in exercise each day) and only half of them was ~400 calories. I was trying to explain that the different philosophies of eating back all calories (e.g., 800) or half the calories (e.g., 400) from working out is a…
  • Thanks for the information! I like the idea of cutting the HRM burn by 20% to correct for any error. So, when you do that - do you then eat back all of those calories or just some of them? In other words, do you keep aiming for the net calorie goal MFP calculated for you (including 80% of the calories from your HRM…
  • I wear my HR monitor for all of the activities that I can, and my calorie burn is usually a lot lower than what MFP would estimate for my size. I trust the HR monitor and recommend investing in one of those! Mine doesn't work while swimming, so I use MFP's estimates for that, but I'm guessing they're a bit high...
  • I wear a Garmin Forerunner 210 with the heart rate monitor chest strap. I got some pretty bad chaffing with it when I wore it two summers ago (it slides around with sweat), but I found that Body Glide under the strap works really well and what works even better is strips of athletic tape where you chafe. The heart rate…
  • If you eat it and get rid of your expectation for real peanut butter, it's good. It's easy to travel with because it's light, and you can add it to smoothies at home for a peanut butter taste without all the calories.
  • I recommend the Fitbit One. I had the flex, but I usually wear a Garmin Forerunner 210 when I run (to track distance and also to use as a HR monitor). I didn't want to be wearing two things on my wrist, plus I normally wear a wristwatch during the day. I LOVE the one. It's really easy to use -- you can clip it in your…
