  • Hi everyone! I made more soy yogurt in my IP yesterday. Love this stuff! Austin, I’ve been wondering how your ice cream turned out. Making that this week for Hubby. I also do hatha yoga, it’s been crucial to my overall health and in recovering from injuries. I plan to make oat milk today. I now make chickpea omelettes…
  • Hi everyone! Austin, I’m going to try that ice cream recipe. I have the Cuisenart Ice cream Maker and it’s great. I have found lots of ways to use The soy yogurt such as in salad dressings and sauces. I also mix it into my breakfast bowls. I have two dinners with friends soon, already thinking about my menu choices. One…
  • Hi Magic! I buy Westsoy Soy Milk, it only has soybeans and water for ingredients. My pot holds 3 pint jars. I pour the milk into my blender and turn on the lowest setting. As it mixes I add the yogurt starter, 1 packet. Cultures of Health is a great one. I then pour the milk in the jars and put them in my Instant Pot.…
  • Hi everyone! Austin - The yogurt came out perfect! Just love it, so easy too. I use shelf stable soy milk and one probiotic capsule. I was using Cultures of Health yogurt starter but the probiotic capsule works just as well and is cheaper. I enjoy reading everyone’s menus each day and am learning a lot about my new way of…
  • Hi everyone! We just got back from a two week trip. We managed to stay on track with our eating for most of the time, we both lost a bit of weight and Hubby does not need to. When we couldn’t eat vegan we ate vegetarian. I was wondering if any of you have a protein goal each day. I try for 60-65 gram. Not easy some days.…
  • Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Magic- The sieve works better for the oat milk. Don’t blend it too long. I also strain it 2-3 times using the back of spoon to press it through the sieve.
  • Magic, I gave you the wrong website for the oat milk. Here it is: https://avirtualvegan.com/oat-milk/ Hope everyone has had a wonderful day!
  • Bisky - I have made oatmilk and love it, also put it in my coffee. I found the recipe on simplevegan.com. The key is to soak and rinse the oats before blending. I strain mine 3-4 times as well.
  • Hi everyone! It rained most of the day so Hubby and I hung out at home. I made a vegan omelette for lunch using chickpea flour. Hubby really liked it! I stuffed it with spinach and leftover chickpea salad. Dinner was brown rice topped with a mixture of black eyed peas and lots of veggies. Mihani your dinner sounds…
  • Good morning! Thank you for the welcome! I probably won’t be following Dr. F completely. Hope I’m still welcome. I like some of my veggies a bit cooked. The rest of the rules I can follow. I also like the Engine 2 recipes. We will be traveling in a few weeks, I’m already trying to figure out how to navigate eating out. We…
  • Hello everyone! I’m a new vegan. I changed my diet nearly two months ago. I eat the same breakfast nearly every day. It’s a combination of healthy cereal such as Ezekiel cereal plus fruit, chia seeds and nut milk. I recently got an Instant Pot and am making my own soy yogurt. I also make cashew ice cream on occasion in my…
  • Yes, it does taste like egg. I found it on Amazon. It smells bad when you are using it but my vent above my range takes care of that. Scrambled tofu is yummy,
  • I became vegetarian over 25 years ago. I grew up on a farm and loved the animals. I had a pet chicken as well as a horse, of course dogs and cats. I fell in love with a young calf and was heartbroken when my Dad sold him. All those animals had personalities and showed me love. My family was a typical southern meat eating…
  • Vita mix is the best I have used. As stated above, it is expensive but so worth it! I use mine everyday.
  • Thank you Jenn!
  • Thank you elliej!
  • Definitely trying this recipe! Thank you for sharing!

  • I am new to the vegan diet. I love tofu scrambles and add black salt for the eggy flavor. I also make a breakfast bowl using healthy cereal, soymilk, chia seeds and fruit.
  • I practice gratitude during my devotional time each morning. I love Anne Voscamp's book 1000 Gifts. After reading it I kept a gratitude list for a very long time. I think it may be time to start a new list.
  • I am thankful that I get to go to physical therapy to get my shoulder healthy again. I am thankful for my Physical Therapist who admits to being one of the more aggressive ones at the place I’m going to...it hurts but it’s working. :-)
  • I have many favorites but this was the first one that came to mind. “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right.” -Henry Ford
  • You know this has been on my mind since my slip in the shower. Hubby said he noticed how my shampoo and conditioner made the shower slippery. Even though I was holding the grab bar, I was injured anyway. We plan to put a shower mat in and I will be using a shower chair in the future, especially when I wash my hair. I will…
  • I used to consolidate my tasks to save steps, now I divide everything for a way to get more steps in. My Fitbit also reminds me to move each hour..
  • I stand in my kitchen as I cook, many times marching in place as I read on my iPad or watch TV. That's an hour of movement in most cases.
  • Doing yoga and bodyweight exercises today. I will get my steps in throughout the day, going out shopping with hubby for patio plants.
  • When I walk outdoors I always put my neighbor's newspaper on her porch. She cares for her hubby who has had a stroke. It's one less thing for her to do.
  • Hello! I’m new to this group. Thank you for letting me know about it Denise! I look forward to learning and sharing. :)
  • I have a ChargeHR. I have synced it to MFP. It does not stay synced. I have to disconnect it and reconnect it each day to update MFP. I refer to the apps for both throughout the day and I see that MFP entries such as calories eaten and water consumed is updated on Fitbit, but steps and the Fitbit calorie adjustment are not…
  • I'm a Pescetarian. Nut butters are a good source of protein and help keep your blood sugar balanced. You could check in to quinoa, it has complete protein. You can use it many ways, check into recipes online. I also make my own protein bars. I am retired now, but peanut butter was my go to snack when I was working. Best…
