Well, this thread has certainly taught me I never want kids, since it seems there's a chance that it'll mess with my head enough to make me speechless at the "beauty" of something that sits around in its own crap drooling and screaming, LOL.

Agreed. I've never actually had anyone object at all to me requesting nicely that we split the bill, so I've never actually had to make that call, but while offering *itself* would never bother me, if they then made a big fuss about it when I politely declined (male or female, doesn't matter to me) and turned it into an…

I think you may misunderstand me; I don't by any means think that the vast, vast majority of men who offer to pay for a first date are doing so because they're plotting ways to be controlling or they're insecure and compensating for something! In my experience, most are either simply trying to be nice without any ulterior…

Depends on how we're defining "poor service". Food took a long time to arrive, s/he didn't check in very frequently, a mistake was made with the order or bill but was corrected in a timely manner, something was spilled... Yes, I still tip, some of those things could well be the fault of the kitchen, and accidents happen to…

Fries slathered in sour cream. So good, but always weird to others, it seems, LOL.

I don't know about "should"; whatever works for other people is their business, but personally I won't and never have let a guy pay. The way I see it, I expect a man to treat me as an equal, so I need to behave like one by paying my own share - otherwise I'd feel like I was taking advantage by trying to have my cake and…

34 is my age limit, personally (I'm 28), but I know lots of women who date guys who are 10, 15, even 20 years older than them, so I don't think it's unusual.

I appreciate you dictating to me what *I* feel, thanks. I weigh myself almost every morning because it keeps me accountable. If I overate a bunch of crap the night before, I have to look at the result, and that has a really positive impact on my willpower not to eat in a way that isn't healthful on a regular basis.…

So don't get her a gift/go to the party if you have a problem with it. No need to blow a gasket when it really doesn't affect you; "don't sweat the small stuff" is a good idea to keep in mind.

I don't see anything weird about asking someone's first name. Last name would be kind of creepy, but first, nah. I'm Juliet.

I'm 5'2", was 128.5 lbs. last I weighed in, but I'm pretty sure I've lost around a lb. since then, so probably 127.5ish, and wear a size 6 (Canadian sizing, which I think is the same as US sizing) in pants/skirts/dresses and small or medium for tops.

5-6 km is amazing! Good luck with the 12K!

OMG, I actually laughed out loud. Awesome.

Yeah, I'm really not liking the switching back and forth either. I've noticed for me that the first 2.5 or so minutes of a run are the hardest, and then I sort of find a comfortable place and it's enjoyable, and stopping and starting again means repeating that every time, which is unpleasant. I actually hadn't even…

Oh, we have the same goal weight and are right around the same current weight as well! How tall are you?
-
If I can ask, how long has it been since you switched off? And WTG on the 2.5 miles, that's awesome!

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I spoke to one of the pharmacists at my pharmacy and she suggested Caltrate Plus (so I'm getting Vitamins D and K, Magnesium, and a few other minerals I can't recall off the top of my head at the same time as the Calcium now) as something most people tolerate well, and so far so good! It…

They're doing a crap job of tracking me, then. I order pizza all the time, and I've never had an ad for pizza or any other junk food, but I do constantly get an ad for some incredibly expensive car (despite having no drivers license  ) even though I access my university's undergrad website a gazillion…

Well, I did W5D1 last night as planned, and it went even better than I'd expected! The first five minute run felt great and I did the first three minute walk according to the programme, but getting started with the second five minute run sucked for the first couple minutes. I've been noticing that right around the 2.5…

Better than the one I have currently which suggests I can lose up to 20 lbs. every month. Yeah, that's healthy!

Starting W5D1 tonight! I've wanted to start since Saturday but it's been pouring non-stop since Saturday morning. :grumble: Still pouring, but I decided I'm going tonight even if it doesn't stop. NERVOUS about this week! Not so much the first one tonight, but definitely the other two!

Thank you guys so much for all your input, it's really great to both hear about other's successes and to know that I'm not the only one to feel intimidated sometimes! I'm done week four, and the whole week was great for me! Certainly not easy, but I really felt like I was in control of my body and could definitely do it, I…

Yeah, laundry for me, too. I hate the whole process, though, not just the folding/putting away (though I hate that part plenty).
