It probably depends on your current level of fitness but you need both irregardless of your age……Start slow and work up. Seek a trainers help if you are going to a gym. Weight machines are easier if you don't know what to do. You can walk, run, bike, swim, mix it up. 30 min weights/30 min cardio, 3-5x's/wk, would be a good…

I am 50 and I love the gym. I go 5 or 6 times a week. I like to sweat, how I look and how I feel when I'm done working out. Everyone has his or her own preferences but from a health stand point exercise keeps you moving and prevents lots of chronic conditions. Even walking is great…..grab your iPod and give it a try.

I was going to suggest Old Navy sweetheart jeans too. They come in short length, are stretchy and the are pretty cheap especially if they are having a sale. Levis too but every "number" style fits differently. Definitely have to try on.

The advice sounds pretty appropriate. Try lifting/cardio x 20 min, 3 days /week and the cardio you like the other days. The current school of thought is combination of weight training and interval cardio for weight loss.

I am a physical therapist and I think you should see one too. Chiropractors do a good job realigning the spine but don't teach you any exercise to maintain the correction. The elliptical and stationary bike at a good pace burn like 200 cal in 20 min so if you did those for 160 min you would burn 1600 cal. If you do a 5 min warm up, weights for 30 and cardio for 30 you would have a good work out. What's your HR?…. cause that has a lot to do with fat burn. As for calories why are you eating so…
