I do 30g carbs. 113g carbs is definitely not too low for most bodies, as long as you're fueling with complex carbs and not simple carbs (which I see you do). Do you eat back your exercise/burn calories? If not, that could be one cause. If you do, maybe it's not your diet but something else. Edit: This may sound ludicrous…

I like to weigh in as soon as I get out of bed, after using the toilet and before I put anything into my mouth. Really? Does weight go up?

Thread was TL;DR... sorry if I reiterate everything... 1) increase fat 2) increase electrolytes 3) increase water 4) increase low-carb/high fibre veg like spinach and broccoli 5) add powdered psyllium husk fibre or other fibre containing zero carbs 5) don't worry about counting calories until after you've kicked the hunger…

If it's just the slipping out part you're asking about, duct tape works wonders  If it's the skin itself, I'm afraid only surgery will fix it. Edited for the smiley since some ppl are way too freaking serious.

My dogs motivate me. They need to be walked, and they should be getting walked twice a day. Being capable of walking them more is a motivator in losing weight; walking them because they've been cooped up means I'm walking instead of sitting on the damn couch. I thought that was the norm on the internets.

I thought a coin toss would be a 50/50 chance, cuz two sides. For a 1-in-4 chance wouldn't you need a four-sided coin?

Fiber can plug you up if you don't have enough fluids with it. Is this what you're talking about?

Actually, sugar does cause some of my GI symptoms and throwing refined sugars out the door has drastically improved said symptoms. But, I think this goes back to the whole FODMAP idea that gluten-sensitive sufferers seem to be ignoring again and again. EDIT: Use Google scholar. Rare to find anything but legit science.

I don't believe I did either of those when I asked for science. You wish to insist on the benefits of lemons and I wish to insist on actual science. From this I could choose to say "It's the attitude of hate and tearing down people that reminds me why I stay silent most of the time" with your insistence that I am wrong.…

Then I guess I need to go back to my GI specialist, the dude I actually allowed to test me, the dude that suggested I may have a gluten-sensitivity, and tell that quacker-jack all about how wrong he and his science is in that my proposed gluten-sensitivity has done zero damage to me and he had better shove yet another…

Livestrong is not a scientific article. We crave science. Real science. Please go find science.

Fine, I'll be serious. I recently started drinking a smoothie touted as a weight-loss smoothie. Of course, it includes green tea and lemons. I drink it not for it's amazing weight-loss benefits but because that citrus-y goodness first thing in the morning boosts my mood and the caffeine gives me a kick. Not to mention the…

Can I just hate gluten because *kitten* gluten?
-
Uhm, gluten sensitivity does not cause intestinal cancer nor damage nor does it appear on any test. Only Celiac does any of those things and Celiac is to gluten sensitivity what a broken leg is to a stubbed toe.

Stahps with your sciences!! It's affecting my lemonade sales

I've never understood the whole detox fad... doesn't your liver and kidneys already detox your body? As for helping your liver and kidneys detox your body... water. That's it. Unless some new science has come out. As for "detoxing your liver"... water.

The study isn't saying that we're faking our symptoms, merely that what's causing our symptoms may be something other than NCGS. Maybe it's just me, but, I'd like to know the truth behind what makes me sick, not merely believe what makes me feel comfy to believe. Cognitive dissonance is not flattering on anyone. Edit:…

Ah, I understand now. I also agree. I am also still on the fence. While I am looking into this FODMAP thing for my IBS and migraines, I am also not ruling out gluten until it is definitively proven that NCGS does not exist. Unlike most other NCGS patients, I can at least have an open mind to science :frown: Edit: n0t…

What I don't understand is, if you have diagnosed IBS and migraines and reflux issues why are you not at least entertaining the idea of FODMAPs? Especially having IBS! A two second search on FODMAPs brought up a list of IBS sites and how removal of FODMAPs can reduce IBS symptoms. Instead you're just bucking against the…

I find alcohol based mouth washes from the pharmacy do quite nice to get rid of oral issues. If not, you should spend a bit of your student's income and see a doctor.

"Consumption of the artificial sweetener aspartame raises plasma phenylalanine levels, thereby increasing brain phenylalanine and, conceivably, affecting the synthesis of monoaminergic brain neurotransmitters known to underlie various types of behaviour." We must be using two different Google's as I seem to be getting far…

An overdose of certain artificial sweeteners can cause severe neurological symptoms and even permanent damage, I think also seizures and coma are a possibility. I forget what the OD dose was, but I do remember thinking that I couldn't consume that much artificial sweetener over the course of an entire day let alone in a…

Yet because they rarely specify whether or not the smoke used has gluten, Celiacs need to treat it as though it does contain gluten. Just like maltodextrin, just like "spices", etc etc etc. Not all those ingredients will contain gluten, yet rarely do they specify. Therefore, all smoke, maltodextrin, "flavour", "spices" et…
-
Processed meats like sausages often have fillers, but for bacon it's actually the smoke flavouring that contains the gluten; because they're not actually smoking it, they're adding a liquid that is suppose to taste like smoke. Most bacon contains "smoke".
-
There are definitely brands of bacon that are gluten-free. When we thought I may be Celiac (before the test came about) we were eating gluten-free bacon... I can't remember the brand though :ohwell: Edits: Ok, that makes a bit more sense. Thank you FODMAPs is what gives. Read the study again. I had been told, not…
