"tricky granola *kitten*" - that's hilarious. I'm with you - I only use granola to mix into yogurt.

It's a little complicated, but I set my calories to 1400. I exercise most days and on those days I allow myself to eat up to 1800 (even if I burn more than 400). If I don't eat up to 1800, I bank the extra calories throughout the week. Then on the weekend, I can eat those extra calories if I choose. It helps knowing that…

He's joking, y'all. :)

That's awesome! You should be very proud of your accomplishment!

We have body pump at my Y. It's probably the same thing you're talking about. You start the class by picking a bar and different sizes of weights. Start by picking up two of the smallest plates. We use a step bench and a mat too. The class is usually the same every week for about 3 or 4 months, then they switch it a…

I'd like to be a part of this. Please don't make me a captain though. :)

Just put them in a blender - it makes the most delicious faux banana ice cream. Whenever I make this for people, they can't believe it's just bananas. You can also add a tablespoon of cocoa powder or peanut butter. But seriously, it's so good with just bananas. Next time, slice the bananas before you freeze them - it makes…

I greeted President Clinton off of Air Force One for my job. Steve Wilkos pulled me off of a bar stool to try and take my table at a bar one night in Chicago. I hosted Chris Chelios (from the Blackhawks) at the Auto Show one year. I met Roger Ebert at a book signing - he signed my VHS copy of Valley Girl. :)

It's very confusing. I've gotten different advice from everyone and I'm not sure what the right advice is. But I've been eating around 1500 calories for awhile now - I keep losing and gaining the same 2 pounds. I wouldn't mind eating 1800 (my BMR), but then eating the exercise calories on top of that sounds cuckoo. But if…

Ok - still a little confused. You said not to make it complicated, but if I choose 2 pounds loss on the MFP set up, it puts me at 1300ish calories. My BMR is 1801. If I'm not supposed to eat under my BMR, but I have 80 pounds to lose.. what am I missing? Which option do I choose? I've been eating 1500 calories and haven't…

Do you still eat back exercise calories when eating at your BMR?

So it seems like a lot of people here are advising you to up your calories (I think you should too). My question is if you are willing to try it.

Thank you for posting this. I wonder what I could substitute for the organ meat and the seaweed...

I asked if you live in Peoria because I grew up there. Yay! There are tons and tons of grocery stores and markets there - if you could make the drive once a week, you could get some good deals on fruits and veggies. Especially once farmers markets start. I'll ask my family and see if I can find a place for you to get…

Do you actually live in Peoria?

I'd like in - thanks!

I'd like in, please. Thanks!

I used to have people yell things out their window to me. Once I was riding my bike home from work (14 miles) and someone yelled, "You're going to have to try harder than that!" Another time I was walking and someone yelled out "Call 1-800-GO-JENNY" or whatever the Jenny Craig number was at the time. I also had someone…

Wildon, dude... I do not envy the sh*tstorm that's coming your way.

You're so right - they're awesome! Just a little secret though, I don't log my veggies. So if you were to look at my diary you might not think that I eat any veggies, I just don't take the time to add in every baby carrot and handful of spinach I eat. They're so low in calories, that I just don't do it. So maybe that's…

Don't feel anxious at all! It's my favorite workout all week. I wish I could do it every day. It can be challenging, but I feel so good afterwards. Try to relax and enjoy it! It's a lot of stretching and then in my class there's about 20-30 minutes of challenging strength (planks, Warrior poses, things like that). Just go…
