The BMI calculator sets a goal for me of 128, but my doc says 140. He says that 128 would be reasonable for someone 20 years younger, but as we age, it is better to carry a little extra weight. Has anyone else heard that?

I love the idea of the Zombie App! I have power walked for 4 days in a row so far! Whoop Whoop! Gotta keep going!

Good advice. I was thinking I would start slow anyway. I like the idea of pushing myself with Map My Walk, so I don't cause injury. My neighborhood is really hilly too, so I will be pushing a lot of incline.

Well, I did Map My Walk last night and walked two miles in under 30 minutes. Not too bad for my first try. I want to get my endurance up more before actual running. haha!

I like that idea. I might try that app instead.

Does anyone set a carb goal? or just calories and protein?

I know what size I wear now, but I still feel like I don't "look" like that size. Does that make sense? I wear a 6 in pants! I haven't worn that since my 20s, yet most days I still feel self-conscious and think I still look heavy. I hope that goes away soon and my mind catches up.

Thank you so much! Feel younger too!

Here are some pics. I was highest at 220. Now I am 147. 10.5 months post op :-)

The coffee idea is great! I have to put that in to play. I will go back to quest bars too. I like those, as you said, with working out, the protein is a good idea.

I had my surgery 12-2-2013. I was 207 at surgery. Down to 147 now. Only 2 pounds to goal! Feel free to friend me too.

Well, I promised to report back. And I have taken everyone's advice and talked to my nut and low and behold . . . I lost weight! What do you know??? I went back to under 30 carbs and cut all processed junk. I lost 2.4 lbs in 5 days. I think I did what a lot of you suggested I did - quit measuring, made exceptions to the…

I will definitely report back. I usually work out pretty hard, but I have been on vacation and now a little injured. I did walk yesterday afternoon and will try to do that every day until I am ready to hit the aerobics or pool. I talked with my nut yesterday and have gone back to basics as you all suggested. Only 30 grams…

I am really glad to hear I am not the only one! I still see myself as the big girl! I even say that about myself and my family says "not anymore." I still can't get used to it. In my head I am still over 200 lbs and am surprised daily when I don't break out in a sweat walking to the car. I think it takes a while for the…

All I can add is that deprivation is what got me where I am and working so hard to lose. When I deprive myself, I cheat (of course I am cheating myself, by my psyche has no idea). Anyway, I say eat it every once in a while if you have the calories and don't deprive yourself. Life is too short! Created by MyFitnessPal.com -…

i usually want to whine too. I am 4 and a half months out and down 47 total! My doctor just says to be patient. I am only 20 lbs from goal and the closer goal gets, the slower it goes. Frustrating!

My name is Heather. I had VSG on December 2, 2013. I think I am a bit of a slow loser, but I am creeping my way to goal! HW: 220 SW: 207 CW: 161.2
