  • Long compression socks help, they look like football socks. Spreads the load on the muscles so they work more efficiently and when the muscles are working better, they are taking more work away from the bones. Hope that makes sense :-S
  • Heartily recommend a bulgur wheat dish. Easy to prepare, can be done in many many ways and fantastic for lunch as high fibre, low carb, high protein. Have you heard of it?
  • Hi there Another Brit here. I'm up near Leicester in a sleepy little village :-) Feel free to add me if you want to Good luck Mark
  • It was a pain in the butt inside the hotel???
  • Not at all. Especially if it is only a little over. Better to go over on protein than fat or carbs. Also, high protein foods keep you fuller for longer so you are obviously doing the right things :)
  • Nice back-pedalling, I'm impressed! Seriously, wasn't offended, just made me wonder if people decide I am like that without knowing me :)
  • Wow...I have a motorcycle and several tattoos, I am also fiercely loyal have morals so I am not sure the choice of vehicle and tattoos necessarily correlates with character! Just had to throw my thought in..... ***grovels, places jacket over puddle and holds the door for ladies on the way out*** :)
  • Hi There is a book by a guy called Allen Carr called Easyway. Look it up, I never thought I could quit but I have and I don't even crave. Don't think of it as "giving up", that implies you are losing out some how. What are you "giving up"? Nothing. You are stopping feeding your addiction and gaining freedom from…
  • I use them as I find they are filling and most f the brands do a meal replacement bar specifically for weight loss. I use a protein shake every morning and occasionally a protein bar if I am out and busy or something. For me its important because I don't eat much meat so I was finding it difficult to reach my protein…
  • I am the same. I switched off my sugars and decided it was more important to keep within the limits so if I am under on carbs I couldn't care less. I eat a lot of fruit and it is stupid to try to cut out fructose. Its cutting your nose off to spite your face. Natural sugars in fruits are fine by me, as you say, plenty of…

  • Me too. I'm near Leicester. Feel free to add! Mark PS: That goes for any UK people! :)
  • I use granulated Splenda which is 2 cals per tea spoon and I find it is just like sugar. Never noticed any cravings either and it is made from sugar. You can even bake with it or sprinkle it on cereals! Having said that, I use it because I drink a lot of coffee so my sugar intake would be horrific. Is 2 spoons of sugar a…
  • East Midlands here :)
  • Hi all Someone mentioned this thread to me a couple of weeks but I couldn't find last month's! Anyway, glad I came across this one! If anyone wants to add me then feel free, I am in the Midlands near Leicester. Good luck to all!
  • Important point to remember here. The Cup measurement used in US is a measure of volume not mass. So a Cup of cornflakes does NOT weigh the same as a cup of butter for example. I used to be a chef and it is a pain in the proverbial because you can't convert all the ingredients the same! However, some of the online…
  • Agreed on the meaning thing. I have several as I said, but each was carefully thought through and has a profound meaning to me. Even a symbol on my wrist that most think is just a tribal motif has a hidden meaning
  • I have tats on both shoulders and my upper back and the shoulders don't hurt Netty. In fact the only one I had that hurt was also my upper middle back but it is the size of a soccer ball and took hours, I think it was just the prolonged needle that made that hurt but by jeebus it did! Also have wrist, back of neck, both…
  • Ah I see, schoolboy error. My apologies ladies :)
  • Woop! Leicester here!
  • Thanks guys! On smoking, find yourself a copy of Easyway by Allen Carr. Makes you look at things differently. After reading, I know I won't smoke again and I don't even miss it! Wow that sounds like a spam ad but seriously, look it up, it really helped me.
