Hey there folks! I've been creeping for awhile but finally decided to post. I'm currently in my 9th week - and was pre-existingly diabetic (type 2). I'm not having any vomiting or nausea but i swear i want to eat everything in sight. Anyone else out there diabetic?

Hey folks. I haven't checked in here in a long time. This weight loss journey is driving me nuts. I had my endocrinologist appointment a few weeks ago (all levels were fantastic) but my morning levels were still a bit high in her eyes. I'm working with a diabetes educator and nutritionist to try and get everything nice and…

I totally agree with you. That first missed workout is so dangerous. I've actually made personal training appointments to drag me back into the gym. An expensive habit for my lack of self discipline...but it works for me (for now). I have to find (less expensive) alternatives though.

I actually asked my husband to help me get to the gym. Once i'm in there, it's great...i'm in the zone...i get my workouts done. My support buddy isn't being so supportive. It makes me wonder why i don't put my energies into my own needs considering i put so much effort into theirs. I really hate this introspective stuff.…

I find myself stuck in that situation too. Too tired/lazy to cook...too shy to refuse. =T It really re-inforces the whole time management and meal planning strategies. I know it gets easier...i've felt when my routine is like clockwork. But it's those moments where someone's thrown something in your traintracks to derail…

...ugh! so frustrating! I can sympathize with both of you. It's like a snapshot of my world too.

I'm 5'4" and floating in the 194-197 range. I can fit into size 14 Esprit, size 32 or 34 at Guess and between a 12-14 at Gap. My old weight of 205-217 i was a 1x at Forever 21, 16 at Gap. Its neat how everyone holds their weight so differently. I have no hips, no butt. It makes it easier to buy "smaller" size pants but…

Dear PCOS, Yesterday, when i went to the beauty place to get a full face threading, the lovely lady pulling off the hair said "you have way too much hair, can we wax it instead". It's so nice to be reminded that i'm a wooly mammoth. Just wanted to say thanks for yet another horrifying moment! Love, Elaine

I've learned that berating myself when i've slipped up isn't worth the mental anguish. I am making a constant effort to change the voice in my head, and treat each new challenge withe fierceness instead of the shame blame game.

What kind of chinese restaurant are you going to? American-Chinese? Dim Sum? Restaurant with traditional chinese dishes? Snack style restaurant? I'm here in toronto where there's a crazy amount of different types of chinese restaurants...

I'm type 2 diabetic and i have been able to manage my hypo lows doing the same thing. I pay attention to the frequency that i eat (around every 3 hours), and what i'm eating (complex carbs). My goal is to maintain a steady blood sugar so that i can avoid hyperglycemia (highs) and hypoglycemia. Pre-workout, an apple is…

My husband is very logical and analytical too. Sometimes i feel we debate more than argue....or rather i want to argue and he just debates me. This kind of dialogue will probably make more sense to him than how i would traditionally have chosen to phrase things. Thank you for the suggestion

You give me hope! *high five*

Thank you everyone for your perspectives. It's definitely alot to digest and think about. What resonates the most (at first blush) is that i need to really work on placing myself on the priority list and having a more (direct) and calm communication with the husband. ...i guess i'll have to put my plate throwing practice…

When i hit 10 lbs i'm going to a water spa downtown. It's one of those places you can do water & sauna circuits. The cold water pool is hell but after the 3rd or 4th time it gets easier. I love the way it makes me feel...refreshed. I decided to focus all of my rewards on things that will help me on my journey. When i get…

*high five* I hate this part too. I skip rope as part of my fitness boxing but with jillian it seems to hurt more. =T

Finally i understand! Thanks to your trainer for such a thorough reply. LOL @ "Toonie Tuesday" reference. Canadian eh?

@mjanet & @Melroxsox =T okay this is news to me. So PCOS is gonna make this weight loss journey of mine into one riddled with bumps and boulders in my way? Greaaaaaat. Maybe this is why i had such a hard time losing it before.

You know, i actually started buying pregnancy tests at the dollar store because i got fed up with wondering? I was so frustrated that i made my pregnant friends test them to make sure they work (they did!). I buy like 10 of them at a time. Stupid PCOS.

Dear PCOS, Thanks for the excess facial hair, the incessive worrying about when/if i'm going to have a period and the lack of buns baking in my oven. Love, Elaine ;) LOL

Being diabetic doesn't necessarily scare me...it's the complications from diabetes that worry me. I guess watching my mom and grandmother are enough to show me what i want and don't want out of my quality of life when i'm their age. The only time i hate being diabetic is when i'm vacationing in las vegas. I miss girlie…

Hiya =) I'm also type II diabetic, diagnosed at 23 (i'm 34 now). I have a terrible family history with both parents diabetic, both grandmothers diabetic...etc. I thought i could keep it at bay with diet and exercise until i got pregnant but it found me. Now at 34, i've got PCOS, haven't seen a period in forever and am…

I'm a habitual ruin-er of songs. I'm also infectious and somehow ear-worm my non-sensical version to all of my friends.

I'm in! What a co-incidence...i'm doing my first day tonight.
