  • While this is logical, this explanation does not actually correlate with how the body makes new blood cells. http://www.blood.co.uk/about-blood/how-the-body-replaces-blood/ Drink plenty of water and see if that helps curb your hunger after donating plasma/platelets. If not, eat more, but make sure you are eating nutrient…
  • I don't care if my husband looses weight, but I want him to be healthy. Luckily, he has improved his health tremendously since we got married, even though he's actually gained a few pounds.
  • Food rots. McMuffins do not. That being said, an occasional McMuffin won't derail you.
  • In theory, a deficit of 100 calories a day would result in a net loss of 10 lbs/year. But, with small margins you have to be exceptionally careful about accurate measurements and records.
  • In the case of eggs, organic and free range is not a bunch of poo. Have you ever been to an industrial hen house? Egg-laying hens are housed elbow to elbow in crates - crapping all over themselves and the eggs you'll eventually eat.

  • I have an armband. In the past, I would wear a camelback running and I would carry my ID and iPod in the outer pocket.
  • Just explain that you try to stick to vegetarian meals because you recognize that it is good for your health and the environment but that you haven't given up meat entirely.
  • Just continue as normal. If you are hungry later, eat something healthful. Just make a better choice the next time you put something in your mouth.

  • Yes. You can also do variations like single leg DL with dumbells. SInce you work each side separately, you can get a good workout even without super heavy weights.
  • This isn't because they get different numbers of calories from food. It is because the heavier person has a higher BMR than the smaller person, thus burning more calories at rest.
  • I sweat plenty during regular yoga, so I can't imagine hot yoga. I think it would be a lot like trying to do yoga on a slip and slide, for me at least. I always do cardio before yoga, so my muscles are plenty warm and ready to be stretched.
  • Did you tell the doctor how many calories you were eating per day? Did the doctor tell you how many calories you should be eating each day? If not, get a second opinion. Just because you have not done damage yet does not mean you should continue your disordered eating. Binge eating dumplings does not sound like a good idea…
  • Why convert? Set MFP to metrics and just go by kg if that is how you want to weigh yourself.
  • I would be more worried about affecting your milk supply than gaining weight at 1800 calories. I would try to calculate TDEE and then reduce that by 100-200 calories for a few weeks. If that goes okay and you are still producing milk and baby is still gaining weight appropriately, then you could cut back calories a bit…
  • If your body can't convert sugar to fat, sugar accumulates in the blood stream to a level where it becomes toxic. You slip into a coma and die. There are worse things in life than weight gain.
  • I know it is hard at a buffet, but I would try to stick to a single plate if possible. Places like that use sooooo much sugar in their sauces that even things that are mostly veggies have tons of calories.
  • It looks like you lost a good amount of fat in your belly and a ton of back and face fat! Way to go!!!
  • I would try reducing the sugar in the coffee and tea. Rather than going cold turkey, slowly taper the amount of sugar you add. If you are only eating 1200 calories, you really have to be strict about what you eat to make sure you get enough protein, fiber, etc. If you increase your calorie goal a little you can have a bit…
  • Paraguard IUD has no hormones and lasts twice as long - way better than Mirena for me =)
  • 5 kilos in 2 months really isn't slow progress. It equates to a pound a week, which is fine. Slow and steady is more sustainable in the long run and eventually wins the race. If you don't like exercise, maybe just focus on being more active. If you are going somewhere close by, walk rather than drive. Or, park a bit…
  • I think the idea behind this is that your body depletes some of the liver glycogen while you are sleeping at night, thus there is less to burn in the morning and you start burning fat faster. I have no idea if it is actually true. I think the best time to workout is when you have the most energy. Its better to eat before a…
  • Start out just by logging what you normally eat. Then set a small goal, like increasing protein, veggies, fiber, etc. Once you are able to incorporate that change then you can set a new goal to work towards.

  • We try to stay at places where suites come with a full kitchen. They are usually only 30-40 more dollars a night, and you can easily save that if you prepare one meal yourself each day. We usually prepare most of our own meals on vacation. I also like to bring chopped veggies and hummus to snack on.
  • It usually takes about a week or two for cravings to fall by the wayside. Some people can work a fast food meal into their macros, other people have a harder time. I personally have eaten more fast food than any one person ever needs to consume in a lifetime. And, I have the type of brain that begins to crave precise…
  • Congrats on running a half! That is on my bucket list =) I've never done in, so I don't know from personal experience, but I've heard that ice baths can really help reduce soreness. I'm not sure if they are still effective at this point, or if they have to be done as soon as possible after the race.
  • Maybe try mixing it with something other than water? I have never used that brand, but I have mixed my powder with unsweetened almond milk, rice milk, and orange juice. I've contemplated mixing it with coffee.
  • You are taking metformin, so clearly you have blood sugar issues, yet you are eating tons of carbs and drinking soda. My first guess is that you feel poorly because your diet is spiking your blood sugar, causing your body to produce a ton of insulin to compensate, which then rapidly depletes your blood glucose leading to…
  • You put raw beans in a smoothie?
  • I started with body weight squats.
