  • Yep, also not old enough to have done them in the 80s but they're a great workout. I've been doing the original Reebok Step video from the 90s, at first I thought it would be too easy but by the end of just the aerobics video I'm sweating like crazy and my butt is sore the next day. It's a great way to work the glutes…
  • I just took myself off Celexa completely after weaning myself off for a month or so. Since taking them in late-2013, I've gained 40-50 lbs!! I notice already that I don't have the sugary/salty cravings I would constantly have when I was on them. Working out regularly at high-energy aerobics didn't move my weight one bit.…
  • They substitute the taste benefits of the fat for High Fructose Corn Syrup.... no wonder we've all gotten fatter
  • I honestly think based on the huge variety of experiences is that, clearly, everyone will react differently and if you think it's causing you to gain weight, you need to honestly look at your eating and exercise habits, maybe go on one of those eating plans for a bit where you cut out all meat/dairy/complex carbs and see…
  • This is my own personal experience and it seems like everyone is different. I take 20 mg per day. I had been very slowly gaining weight over 3 years in my late 20s, about 20 lbs, before going on Citalopram. Before that, I hadn't been taking any antidepressant medication. After going on Citalopram, I put on another 20 lbs…
  • Hope you're still around. I can relate. When I forget to take my ADD meds, I go into snacking mode all day, it's like snacking helps me focus or something. Unfortunately the snacks tend to be impulsive choices... the big huge muffin in the cafeteria, a big bag of Swedish Fish..etc... When I first started my medication…
  • Good idea! I need to think of that one next time lol That is awesome. My little 8 year old cousin is the tallest in his grade and he has some coordination problems (just like I did), but we play tennis and badminton together. I make sure to tell him how my coordination improved after I stopped growing, though I had to…
  • LOL I guess I must really know some true alcoholics then :P Yay for the water weight being gone, bet that's a great relief! Sometimes it seems our bodies just need some time to catch up lol

  • What constitutes a "drink"? A cocktail, a bottle of lager, a glass of wine? My parents drink one glass of red wine with dinner every night, two on Saturday nights and they are some of the healthiest people I know. Apparently my mother is also an alcoholic though... yeah okay -_-
  • I try to stand tall, but it's hard to not want to slouch when I'm wearing heels. Group pictures with my girlfriends can be a pain, I'm always the one with the hunch!
  • I'm 5'9", I'm a 10 to 10.5, closer to 10.5 since gaining weight
  • Yep that was around the point that I "bottomed out", I was 148 lbs, I'm 5'9". Apparently I started looking sickly too and I was pretty pale and my face and hip bones were getting gaunty looking. I'm aiming for 150-155 lbs now. That seems to be the good spot for my build, definitely got the most compliments and liked the…
  • You're right, everyone reacts differently to the same dose of hormones. I think I have an easier time with side effects like that because I'm 5'9" so a bigger build in general. Even BCPs weren't really a problem other than forgetting to take them.
  • I did it 2 years ago, though I stopped after 15 days and moved on to something different but I was definitely seeing results, wish I had seen it through. Did it again for the first time yesterday and my butt, legs and arms hurt, so that's a good sign :P
  • I'm in, just started yesterday!
  • That could be a lot of walking and standing. I would decide whether to post or not by judging how I feel afterwards. If you're a bit sore from all the walking/standing, I say log it! I lose the most weight when I'm on vacation and just wandering around all day.
  • While I'm sure we both know that there is a lot of good advice from the people here. But I used to have an ED myself and I had to try and actively avoid searching for stuff on the internet, it's too confusing and the sources are often self-proclaimed "experts", often with unrealistic expectations of their own that can just…
  • Was surprised to find that even my 15 minute walk to work at a leisurely pace is supposed to burn 64 calories (when I enter it as an exercise on MFP). Hey I can use the extra motivation !
  • I do this DVD: Denise Austin: Mat Workout based on the Work of J.H. Pilates I can't keep up with it all the way through yet and there is an advanced workout I have yet to try, but she gives good instructions about form. I agree about getting instructor input first though, considering your back problems. I've been thinking…
  • Just my own personal experience, I have had a mirena in for 7 years, had no problems with weight. It does sound like you're maybe taking in more calories than you think you are (I'm also a "splurger", but those splurges tend to happen more days than not when I actually pay attention). Also what other people have said about…
  • Was he gay? I dated a guy who said something like that to me after I confessed that I was trying to lose my extra weight. "You can look like me". He was very very skinny. I just laughed at him. There was no date after that. :-p
  • Good for you for cutting the amount down by 2/3rds! You sound like you're British and from my experience living across the pond up in the north, 3 bottles in a day isn't unheard of,a and that's not just among younger people! You'll get no judgement from me. My friends and I were able to go through what amounted to a bottle…

  • That is awesome, and gives me some hope! :)
  • Ahh okay missed that part. I think I'll be ready for a change by then too except I'm pretty useless at push ups haha.... if I can get to the end of the 30 day challenge and be able to keep up with the pushups without having to go on my knees, I'll definitely call it a success! Good luck to you too!
  • I had a EX-boyfriend 5 years ago who, when I was 15 lbs overweight, confessed to me that the first day we met, he had been turned off by the size of my thighs. Ouch. I started working out every night after work, and I did it for ME. In 5 months, I had lost the weight and I have to confess, I did look good. He even finally…
  • I also come out beet red, hair soaked and dripping sweat, no matter how fit I've been. My father used to say it was because our family had a "good basal metabolism".. whatever that really means... lol
