  • Oh yes - bumping this post. It sounds awesome !!!!
  • I drink them for breakfast. Never been much of a breakfast person - find it hard to choke down food early in the morning. Used to grab a coffee and a muffin on my way to work and eat it at my desk in the mornings. I found it extremely hard to break the morning coffee routine - so what I do is buy french vanilla flavoured…
  • I just LOVE your post !!! If you are as honest with your self as you have been in this post you will do wonders. Oh - and by the by - welcome to Canada eh !!!!
  • Addicted is the word I would use to both food and smoking. Personally - I picked a weight - and told myself that when I hit that goal then I would quit smoking too. The idea being that I woudl have my eating under control by that weight, so I would be at a point mentally to tackle the other too. Def had to get my eating…

  • I just gotta say - there was a day not all that long ago for me that I would have been all "I gotta get me one of them" Just to say I did it. Oh yeah - not anymore - but isn't anyone even curious? Even just to buy one and try it and then throw it out if you didn't like it. Oh yeah - there was definitly days in my past that…
  • Low impact is tough. Myself - even walking is too much impact on my knee. I love my Wii - but that little bitty board a scant few inches off the ground is enough to blow my knee out too. In saying that - I can ride a bike though. I dunno - bending and moving it doesn't seem to be a problem - it is all in the foot hitting…
  • Well I am no expert on this - I only know that I do not eat a lot of salt - very little in fact - and yet my rings don't fit in this heat and humidity. So if my fingers are bigger, would it not make sense that other body parts are bigger too? I dunno, but this humidity is killer !!!!.
  • Hey Chris. I'm Canadian and I know we count our numbers differently for the blood usgar thing, so I don't know just how good or bad your numbers were there. I can tell you that my doctor likes to see my numbers between 4 and 6. When I started hitting over the 7 mark he put me on metphormin. Took that for about 8 years -…
  • Oh it really does sound delicious. I'll have to try this - and I woudl use the coll whip too.
  • I'm with McBeth here. I think you did great. You're still going to have dinner out with the hubby occasionally, and pizza parties to attend with the little one - life happens. Sounds like you made good choices. Are you never ever going to have cheesecake in your life again? SOunds like a pretty dull life to me. so you got…
  • Perfectly edible. I use it to bake my fish all the time.

  • Oh I hope it works that way for me. I lost the first 30 with little effort at all. Fought like hell for the next 20 - and then dead stop. Nothing for 2 months now. I keep plugging away though - hoping once I get over this plateau that it will start happeneing again. I've nver stop eating better - my choices amaze me…
  • As soon as I can't wear them anymore they go to charlity. I saved nothing except one pair of jeans - just so I can put them on when I reach my goal and get the "holy crap" factor. I buy new things off e-bay kijiji, yard sales and thrift shops, because all of them are going to end up going to charity too.
  • LOL - I noticed a difference in the bras before I noticed a change in any other of my clothes. I too was busting or bulging out of the largest bras i could find without going into specialty bras - which I could just not afford. Some people say they never loose them - or that that is the last place they lose weight from.…
  • Good luck in the gym !!!! I so want to join a gym but just can't afford it. I do have the Wii fit though and I just love it. I figured out how to set it to tell me when I have reached a goal of 240 calories a day - and I consider that my minimum. takes about an hour to burn that much depending on what you play - but I have…
  • I did that about 2 weeks ago. Was upset at the scale for not moving for about 2 months. Strange where the head goes when you get frustraed !!!! Myself, I was so disgusted with myself after working so hard to lose weight that I woke up the next day and found new resolve in it. It happened - I know why it happened - and did…
  • Oh - I can't wait to see the answers to this one !!!! I have always been a pretty solid fat person - but now that I have lost some weight - and 2 inches off my upper arm - these batwings have appeared that are freaking me out !!!! I saw them one day in the mirror - now that it is summer and the short sleeves come out. I…

  • I took the liberty of checking out your profiel pictures - and oh my !!! You have done a fantastic job at this weight loss thing. I am amazed when I see these pictures and others that the new thinner person look younger than they do when they started. Just fabulous. And he should be sorry. I hope it haunted him for years…
  • This is fabulous !!! I love reading stuff like this. You are doing great and have given me motivation. Keep up the good work and with the attitude and assistance you have - you will reach your goals. Keep posting and share some of that great attitude. I need to read it to keep me on track..
  • Oh boy do I know what you are talking about. I have thyroid issues so have to go to the doctors to get the prescription refilled. Last year he wanted to put me on his scale and I refused. That is what started all this for me. I was on sugar meds, cholesterol meds, and some other med for the "fatty intrusion" into my…
  • Wow!!! That sounds amazing. And woudl fill a big hole for a light cool summer desert when yupi are craving one. I like it !!! Def gonna try this one - and soon !!!
  • I'm forcing myselt to watch it. I think I NEED to watch it. But I have been crying since the get go. Watching these people want it so bad - and what they go through to get what they want - it scares me. What if I don't have that kind of dtermination in me? Will I be destined to be fat for the rest of my life. I know it's a…
  • Hmmmm. Tough subject. I - personally - think you are both right. The trick is finding a balance between the two. I did a lot of research ebfore finding MFP. I live in a small town where WW is available - but nothing else is. I think your friend has adopted some of the Overeaters Anonymous philosofies. Food is like alcohol…
  • My "big" change isn't portions. I never considered myself an overeater - it was just the choices I made when I did eat. I'm 48 and live alone - so I was still eating like a college kid. Kraft dinner and frozen pizaza. I just came home from grocery shopping and was marveling at my cupboards. Where as before my food took up…
  • Oh I can't wait to see the replies to this one. I have been wondering the same thing.
  • You go Ben !!!! We all need to make time to stop and smell the roses as they say. It will do wonders for your outlook on all things - from all things including weightloss and fitness - to the sounds of the birds and your loved ones. Have a wonderful day and many more to follow.
  • Well, I have never in my life been a small breaseted woman, but I have lost more inches in my breast than I have anywhere else - and I hate it too. My breasts have always been part of who I am - and I liked it. I always joked that they entered the room a full minute before I did. I've gone from popping out of a triple D to…
  • I feel your pain. I live across the ditch from you in Fort Erie. I have to shop every 3 days or so in order to keep fresh fruit and veggies in the house. I'm o.k. with the prepackaged veggies for the most part - but not the fruit. Nothing like a fresh strawberry compared to the frozen ones. The only fruit I have had any…
  • I feel your pain. I've lost 50 pounds and had not bought a thing. I'm too cheap to spend the money for something I don't intend on staying in for long. But I am going to a wedding this weekend and just on a whim went into a store to see if they had anything reasonable that I coudl wear. I walked out of there with an outfit…
  • I've had the same questions about calorie burning using the Wii. The website posted previously was very interesting. Feeling better about the calories it says it burned. I had my doubts. I use Wii Fit Plus and Dance Dance.
