Did you notice a period of time where you just dropped a bunch of weight all at once?
The first 35 pounds for me took FOREVER! And now, for some reason, it's just coming off. I hope i'm not cursing myself but the past week it's like pound after pound.
Tell me it won't stop.

Yes!!! That's the way it works with me... I hit a hard spot and stay there for what feels like forever... then it just comes off in big
chunks! I'm in the big chunk part now... I trust the program even when it isn't seeming to work.... the POW... the weight just falls off!
Congratulations and keep up the good work!0 -
Thank you!0

Oh I hope it works that way for me. I lost the first 30 with little effort at all. Fought like hell for the next 20 - and then dead stop. Nothing for 2 months now. I keep plugging away though - hoping once I get over this plateau that it will start happeneing again. I've nver stop eating better - my choices amaze me sometimes - and it is summer now so I am outside bike riding all the time. Still nothing. It's gotta catch up to me - it's just gotta.0

Same here! This is why it's so hard to lose weight. It gets discouraging if it doesn't come off consistently every week and most people eventually give up and start gaining again.0
-
It will, it just may take a little more time for some people. Best of luck.0
-
What do you do to get to the fat melting part of weight loss???? That never happened for me EVER.0
-
I lost the first 21lbs in like 2 weeks or a little more. I thought, AWESOME, this is going to be easy. NOT!! It then slowed down to 2-3 pounds off per week. It's now down to 1-2 lbs per week, or 1-2oz a week. My next goal is the 4th of July. I was 203.2 last Saturday and my goal is 200 by the 4th. Then I also get to deal with TOM in between now and then. I WILL NOT GIVE UP I WILL NOT GIVE UP I WILL NOT GIVE UP!!! LOL, even if I don't hit the 200 until 8/4, I WILL NOT GIVE UP! But wish it would get esy again!!0
-
I am the same as most people. A lot at first and then slows down to a crawl. Your post gives me hope though!! I guess, I've lost about 30lbs since I started again on April 7th. But, I had lost 80lbs before in just 4-5months last year, so it is making my progress seem very slow this time around.0
-
I've dropped 120 lbs so far and for me it seemed as if the first 80 came right off then I hit a plateau where the next 20 took what seemed like forever!! Then I started P90X and then the next 20 came off pretty quick!
Not trying to be a salesman here but.....I think an exercise program similar to P90X or Insanity combined with a rigid diet will do wonders for your weight loss goals. You don't really need to go out an buy these workouts you can create your own. Just remember that the secret is pushing yourself and switching up your exercises to maximize your calorie burn and increase your metabolism. Once your metabolism increases you will notice your goals coming closer and closer. (As am I...only 20 more lbs to go!!)
Just don't get discouraged....use this site and these posts, they will help you, even if it's just for morale support, every little bit helps.0 -
Oh man I hope this happens to me! Fingers crossed!
I'm at the point in my weight loss that ALWAYS takes forever. The 160's are my biggest hurdle that I've never accomplished. But, gosh darn it, I'm gonna do it!! I only have 1.8 to lose till I get to the 150's and I WILL get there!
I really hope once I get into the 150's my body stops fighting me. Well, we shall see!0 -

My hurdle was 170. As soon as I broke that number, I swear it's like the pounds are rolling off. I broke the 170s last week and i've already lost 3 pounds since then.
Stick to it.0 -

Lina- How many NET calories are you consuming a day??????0

For everybody whose weight loss slows right down after a few months do not get discouraged.
When you first start, fluid is lost and this is why in the first week a lot may come off, less so the second week and on the third week perhaps 1-2lb thereafter, providing you are sticking to your calories and eating less than you are using daily, the weight will come off.
However, it will slow down because once the fluid has gone, the weight loss then has to come from fat loss and this takes longer. It is now in the nitty-gritty stage and it is not easy is it.
This is why it is extremely important to also measure yourself as well as weigh yourself, sometimes the measurements will be getting smaller but the weight will appear to stagnate, this will be because your muscles are toning up making you appear smaller..
Whatever happens do not give up, keep your eyes on your intake and exercise :flowerforyou:0 -
I have lost another pound???? I have lost a pound every single day this week! I started on Sunday at 170 and this morning the scale is reading 166! I am happy, absolutely thrilled, but i'm wondering how in the hell this is possible!
I did lower my calories to 1200 per day because I have my sister's wedding coming up in less than 2 weeks. I will go back to my normal routine of 1360 after the wedding. Maybe I DO need less calories to lose?!0 -

Well, it certainly increases the calorie deficit! I know this journey isn't going to be easy but since I REALLY started watching my intake and exercising 5-6 days a week June 1st, I've lost 16lbs. I know they say fluid comes off first but 3 weeks and still losing fluid? I'd love to be one of those people who lost the weight "easily" without getting stuck at irritating plateaus. It's just so interesting to see how everyone loses so differently. If you don't mind my asking, how tall are you? Based on your signature, it looks like you and I have about the same SW and ending weight goals. It's motivational to see someone dropping in to the 160s. How long ago did you begin this journey?? I'm hoping to see the 160s by October (for my own sister's wedding where I'm the MOH)!0 -

I am 5'3"
I started on August 31, 2009 at 209 lbs
You will see the 160s. This really works and if you stick to it, the payback is freakin' amazing!0 -
193 - 170 = took some work but was consistently 1-2lbs/week
170 - 150 = a breeze; don't even remember it.
150 - 135 = a slow crawl. Seriously fought for every 0.25lb to come off
135 - 110 = training for a marathon so I really wasn't keeping track. It was awesome
110 - 140/145 = thought I was in love with my Ex; Mistake! Ate lots of takeout on my way back up there
145 - 133 = Lost my Ex; Fought for every pound. Took about 3 months
133 - 126 (now) = MFP0 -
I think if i could just get past te first 5 lbs it would seem quicked to me.. this first week of me REALLY watching almost every bite i put in my mouth and REALLY working out (started the c25k this week) and REALLY drinking water and etc has been soooooooooo slow!! I'm just so ready to see some results!!!0

I promise you if you stick with it, it will come off. I know how it feels to just start and want to see the results, but trust me, they will come. You can do it0 -
For quite a while for me, I was loosing .5 lb a week. I wasn't thrilled w/ that amount but I was happy that some was coming off. This week I've lost about 3 lbs so far. I'm thrilled w/ that. I have decreased my cal intake because I'm just not that hungry. Of course, that could be because I'm just starting my cycle and I'm never very hungry the first week of my cycle. Going to take full advantage of that!0

I'm looking at a total of 40 pounds lost when I reach my goal and that definitely seems like "a lot" to me so...hehe.
At first I had at least 15 lbs come off super fast from water weight. Then for about a month I barely lost anything, and after that it's flown off 3-4 lbs a week! This past weigh-in has been my first that I didn't lose any pounds or inches so I'm kinda worried that I'm actually hitting a plateau! :frown: Still have a little ways to go, so I'm hoping to see good things at my weigh-in Sunday. If it's not much then I'm thinking it's time to throw in some new exercises. I've mostly been running since I don't have a gym membership but I'm looking into trying some of Jillian Michael's dvds - I hear great things!0
