  • I am sure others will answer this completely for you. On the low end of your excercise if you are only working out M-F you are at 6.5hrs to the top end 10hrs on excercise alone not counting the toddler. So your activity level would be higher than the 3-5hours you picked on Scooby. I would go back and change that detail.
  • Ok I will work on this. And this "If you ate 100 more than real potential TDEE, it would take 35 days to slowly gain 1 lb, and if lifting not even fat. 250 more daily would take 2 weeks for 1 lb slowly. Reread that if you need assurance." I appreciate very much. I do come back and re read things. Petrified but will go…
  • Thank you. So I read through this a few times. I am thinking that I need to eat small amounts over supressed TDEE. I am not sure of what that is, So if based on your estimation that it is 1968, then for a week ( or two?) I should eat at 2068 each day? Keep my workouts going as I have been. If fast increase of weight that…
  • I am logging my weight lifting on fitbit manually. I am not feeling like I have great increases. I am still stuck at the same weights for my upper body for the last month. I have increased for my lower body. I can say I don't feel overall energized or great when doing a workout. I am doing a lot mentally lately and I am…
  • I didn't manually test what fitbit did, but I can. Today I plan to do 45 minutes of Elliptical, I can look at it when I get done and before logging. I need to do the stride length again, I did it quite a few years ago with my original clip and my stride is longer 33, which is what I set it at. Body fat I had it tested at…
  • Thanks Heybales. My question about burned calories was to just understand how it was getting that. So the calories burned by fitbit is basically BMR calorie burn and additional based on steps and excercise? I am logging the weights and cardio on fitbit manually. I just wanted to see where I need to tweak things. Since I am…
  • Ok that makes sense. I am concerned though just as an average on non cardio days it says about 2225 burned, even though I log weight lifting on a few of those days. I will give it another week of tracking and then see what it says. Should I be logging in calories burned for lifting as well as the time? I am not sure that…
  • I log in fitbit my elliptical and weights. I don't log food in fitibit though. have only had this fitbit a week. I used the scooby calculatore to get my TDEE and used the light excercise 1-3 hours a weeks. I do move afterwork and on weekends but I didn't think that would put me into the 3-5 hours a week of activity. I…
  • Ok, but what seems weird is if I take 10% cut from TDEE I am to eat at 2061. So lets say some days I eat 2061, another day that week I eat 1800, and another 1950 and then another at 2200 etc. I would have to see what my deficit would be to see if I should be losing. If it still ends up being just lower I should still lose…
  • I had the book, but I didn't do it for more than a month. I find that I am doing what I can in the office gym. No bar, not olympic press etc. I have also injured my knees, but they are getting stronger. So yes, the 20 lbs is some of my upper body excercises. I do a bit lighter on my delts. I leg front leg press 165lbs, and…
  • So you also said that if we continue to use the same weights that won't challenge us. I use 20lb weights but depending on the muscle group I can only do 6-8 reps. I had been doing 15 for 2.5 months, and they weren't easy, but I felt like I should try heavier. If I am still barely doing 6-8 reps x3 reps 3 times a week and…
  • I do understand, Yes the reset you are to get to TDEE and stay there and eventually you lose weight. I was hoping that the exercise and moving calories up would do something in terms of reshaping or some loss to show a response. Even if I don't lose I would like to see some change somewhere.
  • My TDEE is 2250, I have struggled with eating more. I did increase to my TDEE immediately without moderately increasing the last time Started TDEE Aug. 4 of 2013 and did it thru December, No losses at all, and of course the gain there, I did expect gain, but it just wasn't coming off. I expect the change to take longer,…
  • I am eating protein and fat with each meal. My meals have been about 400 some more sometimes a hare less for breakfast, but I do eat snacks between. This hunger has been serious stomach growling hunger. My meals are fairly balanced, I typically eat the primary item first or in combination with my side dish. So I don't…
  • I have eating below BMR for more than 5 years. My MIL is a trainer and has a machine that did a test for the amount of Fat and calories for my BMR. It is about 100 more than on the other BMR calculators and I am getting almost to that calorie amount, but I am exercising too. So it is a struggle for me to eat and get in…
  • Thank you the more I see the better
  • I found this information. I think cravings typically have a reason. This makes sense: If you crave sweets you may be experiencing blood sugar fluctuations. When your blood sugar drops, your body may be trying to get you to give it more fuel to keep your blood sugar levels stable. If this is a chronic occurrence you may…
  • I still am trying to trust this. I am 17 weeks in but I am not seeing results at all. I have gained a total of 22lbs since aug. 5th I am just frustrated. So I tried just eating when I was hungry and tracking mostly during the week. I hit 1600-2000 some days only 1700 1800. Of course I am not losing. I am doing weights 3…
  • Actually Heybales I really want to see results and feel I can put in more effort. Right now I really have had a challenge with time and 30 minutes 3 x a week is all I can do, but personally I want to put in more effort and see more results when I do cut. I used to be one in the past to walk for almost an hour 4-5 times a…
  • Are you week 4 of cut or reset? I haven't heard of anyone losing weight on the reset so I am guessing your doing cut?
  • I felt lighter and less fluffy yesterday so I probably lost some water. Not sure how much. I won't weigh again until Sunday.
  • Fabulous! thank you. I tried googling for something like that I and didn't know quite what I was looking for. Should I still attempt the 5 x 5 for the lower body?
  • I had to have a double mastectomy with total reconstruction. So they cut my chest muscle from the side into a cavity for the implant. I can tell I have much less strength and when I attempt lat pull downs and swimming its a bit uncomfortable and a bit painful. She said if I work on developing the chest muscles it will…
  • The breath test must have been RMR, it has been many years ago. I will looking to the bf testing. I have eating VLCD for MANY years, in fact I went to a nutrition specialist over 3years ago when I was eating a out 700 a day and still gained when I ate (clearly know why now) I wasn't hungry and I was walking 4-5 days a…
  • so if I google strong lifts 5 x 5 I should be able to see that information right? I take it that's 5 sets of 5 at the heaviest weight I can do per exercise. How do you determine that? Or should I say how would I tell is that with lets say a curl that I can barely do 5 times? I was thinking of paying the 15 dollars for the…
  • I did take a picture near the first week. I haven't taken one as of yet. I am struggling finding a lifting program that is 3 days a week. I am able to do a 9minute warm up jog to the gym and have 30 minutes at the gym to lift and then 9 minutes home. Life if just busy, but I am very conistent, even one of the trainers…
  • I still sticking with it, but I really have felt firmer that last few days, almost lighter, but there is no difference. Weird I partly wish someone would say well your building muscle and losing fat at the same time but that isn't true since muscle is smaller so I would be shrinking. Oh well. Its just a bummer
  • If you werent eating below your tdee whil you were pregnant or just after then the concept of doing TDEE for 2 weeks then 6weeks on the 15% cut from TDEE makes sense. I have read that. However, if you were eating below TDEE for longer periods, then doing the reset is 8-12 weeks at TDEE. I don't know what your workouts or…
