  • I was born in Texas, raised in Alabama... really starting to miss Dixie. Spent most of my life in Alabama... I only recently left it and it feels like there's a hole left behind. Dixie has some of the most wonderful people you'll ever meet and even if I wasn't in a good place, I still miss it.
  • I personally love rice milk :) I was really scared to try it at first because I was so used to milk being thick. It certainly tastes like rice if you opt for the original. The vanilla was too sweet for me, so I drink original. As far as dairy milk: I drank it for years and years and years. I still use it in my oatmeal...…
  • For your height and weight, you're actually not overweight. Sounds to me like you just need to tone up some ;)
  • Something that I want to point out, briefly... your body needs 1200 calories before exercise just to function (on average). If you burn those 1200 calories doing the insanity workout, then yes - your body thinks it's starving and will put itself into starvation mode. Remedy that by increasing your total calories. edit:…
  • My goal weight is 160, at least currently. If I think I can stand to lose a little more at that point, I'll re-assess when I reach it - but for now, 160 is where I want to be at and where I feel comfortable. I think, overall, I would absolutely not go below 145 - I have a frame not designed to be a model. I have no desire…
  • I was tested for fibromyalgia, yes. Those were negative. (Done by both my nurse practitioner and the local hospital.) I was also told that my water intake was certainly enough, with no problems there. @Pairs4life, I am 5'5". I don't have an MD, currently. Still trying to get back on my feet after fleeing Alabama.

  • While I can't speak for what is safe or unsafe for your partner... My simplest suggestion is some light exercise. My partner has some medical issues that makes exercise difficult for him (and downright painful) but something as simple as walking the dog is usually helpful and safe enough for both of us. You could always…
  • I wouldn't know if I've had that happen to me yet or not; I know that there are people who are very questionable about my condition(s) though, so I wouldn't be shocked if it did occur. I want to try to make real friends out of the people I've added - or that have added me - but so far, I only seem to regularly talk to one…
  • I wouldn't post here if I was being dishonest because that would be plain silly. ;) If you read the comments, you'd also see "sleep 24/7, depression, and binge eating 2-3 times/month" mentioned. I missed a thing or two in the OP because I didn't believe it mattered. It still, honestly, doesn't. I got to 197 by not eating…

  • Would it help to explain that I was a binge eater for, oh... six years? I could go days at a time eating only 600 calories a day but occasionally (particularly pizza and taco bell), I would binge and those days (probably 2-3 times a month), I would eat far more than the 600 calories. I don't think it'll make much of a…

  • Yep. I slept 24/7 from depression, abuse, and being sick constantly. Ate 1-2 times a day, if that. The sole exception was when my mother brought home pizza from Little Caesar's or Burgers + Fries from McDonald's. I'd scarf that and promptly go back to sleep. It was the only way I managed calories at all in a given week,…

  • I actually don't know how to eat in excess. I'm trying to lose weight, yes - but I gained it by eating around 600-800 cals + sleeping 24/7. x.x And I was originally working with a doctor when I was in Alabama. She was... not very thorough. She ran my CMP and another few tests and then just quit looking into it altogether.…

  • It'll be a miracle if I find a protein source that *doesn't* make me sick at this point. Half the time, I wonder if I'm overreacting so I try a new one for a week and regret ever breathing when it bites back >.< What's calorie-dense *without* relying on protein?

  • Most that I can think of. Some affect me more or less than others, but the general response is pretty scary. Artificial sweeteners are the absolute bane of all things good for me, with fowl-based meat a close second. (Turkey, for example, makes me sick within half an hour of consumption.) Processed foods seem to be a safer…

  • Medical. Protein makes me scary sick. Still trying to get a diagnosis on *why* it does, but it simply does - seems to be if I go over 20g/day | 120g/week, I am basically grounded to bed. 120g/week is still headache inducing >.<

  • Hi! I'm a critter lover too (and gamer, but hey). Trying to find a job in pet care but it's sooo difficult with all the places being rather small -.-
  • Wow, this exploded rather quickly. It's really awesome to see so many people into the same stuff here. ^^ Anybody around here play Age of Empires III? I want some more people to practice against!
  • I am not diagnosed PKU and yet I have an extremely severe reaction to aspartame. So, it's either not only people with PKU or I've gone 20 years with un-diagnosed PKU, beating all of the odds. Which seems more likely? And if the FDA will claim that noone can have an allergy/sensitivity to aspartame when there are very…
  • Definitely seeing a *lot* of Star Trek and Pokemon mentioned. It's quite amusing - and I'm loving seeing this come together so quickly. I would have never thought there'd be so many people here like this. It's awesome <3
  • But according to the FDA, there is no such thing as an allergy to aspartame. So how can you claim that its a sensitivity/allergy if it doesn't actually exist?
  • I call bull**** on this because aspartame (and other false sweeteners) make me extremely sick. Aspartame is a created sugar, its not natural. I don't know who or what told you that aspartame is natural, but it is not and never has been. It never will be, either. I'm not diagnosed with PKU, or any difficulty, for that…
  • Would you, by chance, happen to play Star Trek Online? I'm a fairly avid player of that, as well as MTG, AoE3, and quite a number of others. Mostly RTS, though. RTS and RPG tend to be my strong points, although I'm quite a sucker for puzzles, too. Love my Xbox, with Battlefield 4, Dark Souls, and all the other games there…
  • One of the things that I like to do for breakfast and/or snack is fruit salad. I go out to Walmart (or wherever there are $1 cans of fruit) and pick out a few that I like. (I keep those in stock all the time) Usually, I get Mixed Fruit w/ 100% Juice, Mandarin Oranges (Light Syrup), and Pineapple Chunks w/ 100% Juice.…
  • There would be a rather strong difference, because the "clean" foods contain nutrients we actually need - vitamins, minerals, etc. If all we ever needed was the calories + carbs + protein, it wouldn't matter, but with the addition of necessary nutrients such as vitamin a, b, c, d, iron, etc., junk food simply would not cut…
  • Hello ^^ I'm 20. :)
  • Satisfaction
  • Easter
  • This one sounds yummy to try - but how would I get the spinach in there? Never used any "leafy greens" before so I'm not sure how to get them to mix properly with the rest of the smoothie? Certainly sounds tasty, but I think I'm going to pass on this one - it contains the almond milk and the peanut butter. The former, I'm…
  • I don't think I've been under the sugar goal yet, because I eat so many fruits + 100% (no sugar added) natural Apple Juice (nothing but the juice). The natural sugars that occur in fruit and veggies is a different kind of sugar and the body accepts it differently, though. It's why I've never stressed the sugar goal - I'm…

  • It really depends on what you can tolerate. I can't have any eggs - well, maybe like... one a week. They make me really, really sick, really fast. x.x
