I don't think your injury is connected with what you ate and when you ate it. I'd always take 'medical advice' on mfp with a pinch of salt…if you are injured, then don't run , you'll only make it worse. Take rest, stretch and ice your calf. If it still hurts, then I'd go see a doctor. Good luck!

I hated all exercise. running taught me not to hate anything or anyone. do whatever you enjoy doing so it's not a chore. do something that frees your mind. do anything that you enjoy and keeps you moving. ok, do running :-)

I lost around 60 in just under 6 months. It IS possible, but I wish I had done it more efficiently ( ie. by NOT eating 1,200 calories a day and not touching the 5,000+ exercise calories I burnt each week)

so basically what you are saying that it's perfectly acceptable to be mean, if you are polite and friendly, pi$$ off, you're not the sort of person who should participate on mfp forums? man oh man, It can't be easy being you.

The "Like" button is the single most destructive thing the mfp mods could have introduced…nice way to kill off motivational comments, which is what mfp such a great way to lose weight and get fitter as part of a community.

I am an idiot. I have trained for and run 2 marathons with NO cross-training or strength training of any sort..I really need to address this. I'll be looking forward to replies for this thread!

you don't need a gym. your body weight is all the resistance you need and outside your front door is all the cardio you will ever need. set yourself free.

Do 'em both!! when I ran my firs full t marathon last year, I had to get my butt from Toronto to Niagara falls to do a photoshoot literally 2 hours after finishing. If you can get through your half in around 3 hours, go for it!

If you need consensus for justifying $160 on a t shirt and workout pants, I'll play along and say yes…you got a great deal.
