my son is on Adderall XR for ADHD---the main side effect is anorexia. he took Ritalin for the last 7 months and held steady with his weight, now that he has taken the Adderall he lost 8 lbs in a month he took it(for a six year old that's a lot). I make him eat breakfast at home before school, then give him his med---then…

I've had slip ups too. i get stressed and depressed and start eating like crap. however, i think this time I've finally had enough of just wearing gym pants and scrubs all the time because nothing else fits me. almost 3 weeks in and 4.5 lbs down---slow and steady wins the race. anyone can add me if they like :)

i know how you feel. i got out of the navy 4 years ago, down there in VA Beach, and i swore i would never put back on the weight that i had when i was pregnant. i worked so hard to lose it, looked great, and was only 20 lbs from goal. then i get out of the navy, eat what i want, and nursing school started, and then my mom…

a pound is a pound is a pound. a pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of gold. there would just be a lot more feathers in a pound than how little bit of gold would be in a pound. same goes for muscle versus fat.

run meter looks like a good app, however the pedometer feature is only on the elite version with is $5 a year(which isn't terribly expensive)
-
i didn't know map had that built in function. i just found it and activated it. does anyone know how accurate it is?
-
mapmyrun can't be used as a pedometer can it, because i now they have mapmywalk and mapmyride as well. i was looking at pacer, its got good reviews.

my only issue is that with any diet/healthy eating lifestyle is that i don't like many fruits or veggies, and the ones i do like it seems i have to eat them allllllllll the dang time so it gets boring. i really don't like onions, don't care much for tomatoes or cucumbers, nor broccoli, asparagus, or brussell sprouts---i…

any suggestions, thoughts??? anyone, anyone...bueller, bueller

thank you everyone for your input. i just thought i would give low carb high fat a try(and longer than 2 weeks---since i was so fatigued). a lot of people have suggested to me the reason i keep getting so many migraines and just feel so tired and blah(no other way to describe it) is that my diet might have something to do…

Congrats on choosing a great profession! I just graduated in May with my BSN and passed boards in June. If you would like a friend go ahead and add me. I know I'm not in college anymore, and a little bit older than you, but it's still nice to have friends :)

I have been curious about HRM's and step counters, calorie counters as well. I saw the fitbit does the steps and sleep counter, but not a HRM. I would like a combo of all three first stated, the sleep counter doesn't matter to me. However, I have heard that HRM's are worthless for wearing all day when you are just walking…

i was really big on sugar free syrups(made with splenda) and then using more splenda and milk in my coffee. i like it super sweet and light, can't ya tell lol. any who, I've been trying to wean myself down a bit. so for 8 oz of coffee i am having 1 tbsp of sugar and 1 tbsp of hazelnut or cinnabon creamer. thats for like 82…

thanks for everyone's help. i just have issues with the subtle teas(makes me feel like the taste is so bland and whats the point lol).
-
if the tea is put in cold water to steep to begin with, can i leave it in the water longer for a stronger taste? or do you always have to start with hot water?
-
but what about the steep time. can i let it steep longer, because I've been told that it makes it bitter if you do that. on the other hand i have a friend that lets her chai steep for like an hour so its super strong.....

i am aiming to lose about 75 give or take. ill reevaluate when i get to 125 if i am happy there. add me if y'all like :)

thanks for posting this because i was having major issues with quinoa. i tried to make it the way a friend told me---in chicken broth with some italian seasoning---none of my family members liked it and neither did i :( so i will have to give some of these a try. i also found this site that I'm going to have to try some…

i actually had breakfast for lunch, and lunch for breakfast lol. so i ended up having one serving of fiber one pancake mix(i pureed a banana with a little water and mixed it into the pancake mix)--put those in a waffle maker. had 3 sausage links and one serving of sugar free syrup = 493 calories and YUM!!!
