  • Costco actually pays their workers a decent wage (my friend was paid $11/hr at start selling hot dogs, and this was 9+years ago) while Walmart/Sams doesn't. For that reason, if I had a choice I'd go with Costco. Plus they have deals on other things like vacations, insurance, etc.
  • To be fair, I do believe most people cut way, way back on sugars before a fitness competition. It's only temporary though. It's not sustainable, and it's a few steps past "toned".
  • It's a shame that the diet industry has led people to believe that this is a viable question that has answers. The best you can do at this point is avoid bloat. Drink lots of water up until the day of and then cut back down to normal. Cut back on carbs. Avoid soda, especially diet- it actually bloats you more. Same goes…
  • Feel free to add me. I am getting married in June and it's definitely added some fuel to my fire.
  • Ground pepper and onion powder in most things, often along with cayenne. I like Old Bay but I put too much on my eggs once and they tasted like chicken. Sounds fine but it was weird. I also put Famous Dave's Steak/burger seasoning into a lot of stuff. Worcestershire sauce is great to add into a lot of sauces and gravies.…
  • At first I thought this was going to be the typical thing where both partners eat the same thing and therefore the wife gains weight because of lower metabolic rate. It sounds like you might have a bingeing problem though, which is entirely your responsibility and will take time and practice to fix. It has nothing to do…
  • I went in for my first dress fitting for my wedding dress! I was scared I'd try it on again (picked it out in August) and I wouldn't like it anymore but I love it. I am hoping to lose weight before the wedding but even if I don't it looks great. :flowerforyou: Bought my veil too, for cheaper than one I liked at the…
  • My grandpa used to always comment on my weight when I saw him. I didn't even want to see him anymore. I was in middle/high school and it's just not something you deal well with at that age. My mom seems to have inherited this now that she's older. She does the same thing. First thing she asks the 1 or 2 times a year I make…
  • I'm 26. Every year is better than the last so I'm assuming it's going to be like 80 :D Seriously though I'm looking forward to being in my 30sish and having my crap figured out and starting a family. And then I'll probably be looking forward to retiring and getting the kids outta my house. I was my thinnest at 16 but I…
  • Yesterday you said today.
  • Currently reading Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh. I've loved her blog for a long time and the book has additional content. I love it and it's good for when I don't feel attentive enough to read anything but short illustrated stories lol. Last one, other than textbooks, was maybe The Lacuna by Barbara Kingslover on…
  • Eh, whether you're male or female most people agree that either look good lean. While you can go crazy with the body building if you really want to, a lot of people aren't really into the look. For the sole purpose of getting lean, I'd say men have it much easier. They have a higher metabolism so having one slip up like a…
  • While I'd agree it's really rude and dangerous to give a kid (or animal, for that matter) food without asking first (they could have allergies or something), I think this is a little out of check. It sounds like you want to forbid sweets or junk food of any kind, ever. That kind of mindset is going to backfire on you. Now…
  • I wear a heart rate monitor. I'm 5'5 and 156 lbs. For kind of chill regular ol' pilates videos, I burn about 50 cals. For more circuit style workouts combined together for an hour or so (like the arms workout on the current calendar that combines Applause Arms, Never Getting Back Together, Arms on Fire, and bikini blaster)…
  • My ex fiance dumped me, I was bored, and I headed to online dating. Guy #1 wasn't too bad, but he lived with mom and didn't like dogs. That was from match. There wasn't much else on there in my small area, so onto okcupid. Guy #2 was an HOUR late to our first date. I don't know why I didn't leave. I don't know why I went…
  • I used to drink a lot of creamer but since getting my Keurig I've stopped. The coffee's really good and creamer would just kind of ruin it. But you just started drinking it and it's an acquired taste. I'd probably suggest either stopping or cutting back on the added stuff gradually.
  • Absolutely! Especially toward the end. When you only have 5-10 lbs to lose or even maintaining, it can be difficult to see progress. You might plateau or even gain a little as you recomp. The scale is no longer your best measure. I don't care for measurements either because it can be difficult to take a measurement in the…
  • Last I checked I'm 156 lbs and about 36-29-40.
  • For most of my life, I've lived in the country, a good 10 minutes from town. I've also lived in town while in college and now. At one point I lived really close to a couple shopping centers. Yes, I walked to the grocery store, to class, etc. I also walked to Little Caesars, Qdoba, etc! When I lived in the country I was…
  • I usually do online workouts. My parents don't have a good internet connection (they live in the boonies and JUST went from dialup to 3g but it only works outside lol) so I'll print off a few hiit type workouts that I don't need equipment for and probably go running a few times. The only times I anticipate not working out…
  • If you're serious (which I fully realize, you probably aren't) and you really need money fast, you might be better off camming first. There's more diversity. You can market yourself as chubby and it's a lot easier to find guys that are into that, than hoping one will happen to wander into the club when you're there. In the…
  • I'm confused as to how cco is that good for you since it's saturated fat. But I do use it for certain things. Sometimes I sautee fruit in it before adding it to oatmeal, or for some stir fries where it just seems more appropriate (though I have sunflower oil that I use more for that). For the most part I use evoo. I mostly…
  • I did a hiit from blogilates. 1 minute each of burpees, single leg flyes, hop overs, upright rows, ball slams, pushup to shoulder pushups, dumbbell squats, and tricep extensions all repeated twice. Then 30 seconds running, 30 seconds plank, 30 second rest 8 times. Two days later and I still can't walk.
  • Your curves won't disappear, especially if you strength train. I'm definitely on the curvier side as well and squats very quickly take my booty from good to great. And yeah my boobs have shrunk but since the rest of me has too it looks proportionate. I was about your size, now am 156 and I went from a D to a C. Been…
  • The most important thing is to not overwhelm yourself. It's all about baby steps. I would probably start by getting a plan on mfp. I might even start just at maintenance for a month or so. Get used to logging and measuring. You can still have soda, but it has to fit into whatever your calorie allotment may be, so you will…
  • You see a pic of peaches in cottage cheese and think OH MAN THAT LOOKS DELICIOUS
  • Don't feel bad. EVERYONE fails at hCG eventually. Even if they do complete the "program" to the letter, they will eventually gain it back. Same almost always goes for Atkins. Or any other diet. You've made a big step coming here because this is all about a lifestyle change and only doing what you can live with for life.…
  • I'm 26 and I've done some dumb things but there isn't much I would change because it put me right where I'm at right now which is a very good place. But... DTMFA when you know full well it's not going anywhere. Don't drag it out. It's okay to demand better (but again, if I didn't break up when I did I doubt I would've…
  • Not me, popped up in my feed the other day... Both, both is good.
