  • This group has over 46,000 members and no activity. What a shame. It seems there are many very diverse ideas about what clean eating entails. I suspect it is any mode of eating that supports our adrenals, builds glucose for brain activity and does not contribute to the disease state. Nutritional yeast is another word for…
  • I found the book Life Changing Foods by Anthony William to be very helpful as I shifted from a traditional diet to plant based in 2021. Wonderful recipes are easyish to prepare and well tolerated by my meat eating husband and sons. I even look forward to my daily salad/s.
  • I’m hardcore plant based for 2 years. You’re right, wineroom, getting started was traumatic, but now have mastered “wellness eating”. I learned a new way of cooking and living to help overcome 3 decades of chronic illness and lost all the extra weight. The biggest surprise was the way I’d been trained to eat, was hurting…
  • Baked pears, scoop seeds with melon baller. Stuff with your choice of nuts, mint, herbs, fruit: cranberries, raisins, etc. and oats. Used 1/2 cup liquid, a layer of oats. Arrange pears snugly in a casserole, fill to overflowing with above goodness. Baking time depends on ripeness. Top with 1 teaspoon maple syrup / pear.…
  • Shine RIP. With all the developments over the past few years regarding data gathering, I've decided to stop giving away ALL my personal statistics to the creepy people who collect that stuff. I very much enjoyed my Shine for many years.
  • At 66, my yoyo weight loss cycle is over. 5'2" I weigh 113#'s. I'm surprised. My goal here was 135#. My spirits are high and I am recovering from a 55 year sentence of misery, suffering & neglect from the medical industry. Some of you have been there, too. I'm sorry. Biggest surprise of all - with CoVid came grace and the…
  • Wait until you go to the gym / workout the next day. Exercise is the antidote to overeating. Enjoy and move.
  • I'm currently on a "health diet" that is plant based. I've lived full on carnivore always, so I'm trying a new style of cookery, but I was perplexed. The Medical Medium wrote a book with beautiful pictures about foods. Life Changing Foods. I really enjoy the recipes, appreciate the pictures and can now see a Fruit /…
  • I'm not that old fashioned. Thank God for modern appliances, I work hard enough running a homestead. This week it's Chestnuts. Chestnut soup, chestnut croquettes, marinated chestnuts, roasted by the fire chestnuts, gluten free chestnut flour ... and the squirrels and deer won the harvest this morning.
  • I am one of those people who follow the Medical Medium and pulled myself out of the swamp of 4 bioweapon induced illnesses floating around for the past 100 years to a functional life again. Never ending pain and suffering is manageable if you know how and why. Some of you are very disrespectful, I imagine it's a form of…
  • We have a tick epidemic. I removed 30 + ticks from Lily recently. The majority got by our 1/2 dozen or more tick checks every day and were attached. It seems the lyme vaccines, are working. She is vigorous and happy. That said she had a seizure after receiving the vaccines plus all required shots. She was on Simparica tick…
  • It's zucchini season. Versatile round 8 ball zucchini: green, white, yellow make great pizzas. Dredge with flour and herbs then breadcrumbs for a 50 calorie nuttitious platter for eggs, creamy main courses, etc. Freeze really well. Two zucchini plants are cool ... too many like tribbles.
  • Lynne I tried that and it only allows me to send message. Wrote MFPtech support Community Find Member User name or email Search Add as Friend For me on android tablet this function is only available online version. Also can only see profile online, not in app. Seems it should be as easy as you say but not for me. I'm…
  • Good morning MFP friends. Been a member for some time. With all the chaos in the world my friends are preoccupied and my feed gone silent. Looking for friends who eat real food, like to cook and move. I am a fan of real life exercise. The gym a distant memory. Friend me if you'd like. Would enjoy sharing your journey.
  • I was dying from untreated lyme disease. Had been taking the vodka cure for three years to self medicate. Went for my annual physical and the paper said OBESE. Slapped me sober. Gave up alcohol. Lost 10 #'s. Got a better doctor, and treatment, went back to gym ... lost 20 #'s, switched to logging and real life exercise…
  • A rule of thumb I was given cook 20% less time and temp as a normal oven. I found everything is turned out great except fried tofu. I google any food I want to try. FB has a very active group that helped get me started.
  • Thank you. I think my moniker says it all.
  • While I'm too old and broken in to run now, I still do a bit. Get good supportive running shoes or walk/run shoes. Start slow. Walk 5 minutes and jog or slog = slow jog for 1 minute. See how you feel and adjust the run / walk intervals to suit your capabilities.
  • Veteran MFP user. Everyone's gone vegan. Seeking friends who exercise daily, cook, log and know how to make the invite friend function work. Thanks.
  • This is a twisted post of opinions and not scientific fact. I would like to friend the poster as I raise chickens and butchered recently. I can offer actual advice based on experience. I can't however get the invite friend tab to work on my tablet. If you'd like to talk chicken, food and fitness please friend me.
  • Morning ladies. 64, disabled but fit. I like to eat and cook, farm, raise chickens, mushrooms and plants of all types from beauty to medicine. Been on MFP for a while. Log and exercise daily, but my days of hard core running, weights and 25 years at the gym are over. Have a small group of really nice friends but they are…
  • Hold tight to your success. Your story is my story weight wise, only it took me 7 years to get to 120's. I am 65 and just this winter dipped below 120. Cannot believe it. My exercise, once extreme and intense like you, now has shifted to real life exercise. Mostly farming and gardening. MFP and daily logging definitely a…
  • I was going to send a Friend request but I don't know how. Will try again.
  • I have been a member for 5 years or so. I did meet my weight loss goals, then found MFP was an excellent tool to help me nutritionally manage the negative effects of living with Lyme disease. A gym rat for 25 years, in the past 10 years I have been more successful with Real Life Exercise, some focused weight training and a…
  • I am a fan of real life exercise. You can pull some big burns just doing regular chores. Living on a homestead there is never a shortage of things to lift, carry, muck, build and tend. With my gym decades behind me, I'm grateful for a strong body and hope to never stop doing real life exercise.
  • Pulled out my summer clothes and all my "vintage" pieces fit.
  • Actually I think we can create a chicken from a few cells in a petri dish. Thanks for playing along.
  • Okay, so I ate the one in the front. It's important to taste. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7axvrzx9s3apzb9/2016-12-05%2012.32.03.jpg?dl=0
