  • Many folks express this same feeling as you are now. I think a lot of times, our minds take much longer to catch up than our bodies did to lose the weight. Maybe we don't quite recognize the accomplishment yet. Set intention to focus on the accomplishment of it. Maybe that will help.
  • Yes, I did. A pretty serious depression hit me and with all this coronavirus stuff, we began eating out again to support local businesses. Think local ice cream shop, local donut shop, etc. ALL the carbs. Also had more time to cook and bake, so that was a problem as well. I did get more physical activity in than I normally…
  • Depending on how carby those cheat days were, just the restored glycogen to your muscles will attract extra water and hold it. It's too early for cheat days on a keto WOE in my opinion. It will take most of us 3 days of strict keto to get back into ketosis after a cheat day that knocks you out of ketosis.
  • @rdthoms the avatar doesn't look like me, but is closer looking than the measurements it guessed. The avatar somehow knows I'm pear shaped. We come in so many different shapes. Four measurements won't give you an accurate picture. I don't know if the hip measurement is high hip or low hip (clothing charts usually use low…
  • @rdthoms Something is wrong with that software. It takes your gender, height and weight, chest and waist measurements only? Then guesses the rest of your measurements. It's incredibly off for me in almost every measurement it guesses like neck, hips, thigh, calf, forearm, and bicep. Seems like a wonderful idea if you could…
  • That looks like rehydrated chicken jerky. The flavor enhancer is probably MSG, so be wary if you are sensitive to it. And that salt count is outrageous. I don't even think the saltiest Virginia Country ham would have that much salt.
  • Snap Peas, Green Beans, Red and Green Cabbage, Bok Choy, Brussels Sprouts, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Water Chestnuts, Jicama, Mushrooms (love them, but they don't love me), Corn, Radish, Celery, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Butternut Squash, Spaghetti Squash, Lettuces, Red/Yellow/Orange Bell Peppers,…
  • oatmeal, mushrooms, green peppers and cucumber seeds (cucumber is fine)
  • Check into that antihistamine (some have been known to cause a bit of problems with weight), then get his free thyroid hormones, free testosterone, and cortisol levels checked to rule anything like that out. Consider age and genetics as small factors to why his calorie needs are low for his weight. With as much time as you…
  • Standing instead of sitting whenever you can...even waiting in a doctor's office or at the pharmacy, DMV, etc. Do this reasonably. If your posture starts lacking, then sit down.
  • I need a re-do on yesterday Aug 2. I did at least track all 4k calories I ate. Overall, still very low carb. Don't know what caused it really. I wasn't overly hungry. Need to examine my emotions from yesterday.
  • I have low kidney function CKD 3A. My last eGFR was 52 and I am 43 yrs old. I am in maintenance now since March. I weighed 182 lbs last July and today I was 141.4. I am 5'7" tall. There is a fair amount of research that states keto is fine for CKD because you do watch your protein intake, as it is not a high protein diet…
  • Can you open your food diary?
  • Aug 1 Results: Not that great. Didn't make it to gym, but did take that me time.
  • My goal is to maintain my weight loss with 5 lbs wiggle room. This has always been the hardest for me to do. I know how to lose weight, but keeping it off eludes me. So, whatever it takes, I'm going to do it. Exercise Weigh/Track food Sleep enough Take some "me" time Start going back to yoga classes
  • You definitely didn't consume 7000 extra calories with that planned cheat day (or that was some super rich cake), so you didn't gain 2 lbs of fat. You're holding water due to the extra glycogen. It will release. Just keep doing your keto/LCHF, and it will go away.
  • Unsweetened peppermint tea tends to help me....sometimes. I have 28 sweet teeth. It's a problem.
  • I count both as I can easily overeat my calories for weight loss and not bat an eye. Yes, even on keto. My weight loss cals were 1200-1400/day when I started at 182 lbs. I'm practicing maintenance right now.
  • Lifeway makes kefir cups. There is one with a fair amount of protein and only 5 net carbs per 170 g serving. It's plain. You may try chia seeds instead of the cereal.
  • About 20 lbs or so. Also, for those that don't get comments at work, it's all because people are too afraid of being accused of harassment. Can't even pay a compliment to someone without being scared these days. It's such BS. Anyway, I think it's just trickled into society here as a habit. Also, many people just don't…
  • This is how you eat liver, IMHO.
  • Yes! I had some milk recently, and it was soooo sweet. Course, I have 28 sweet teeth, so I had to get it out of my sight, or I was going to drink the whole carton. I can't do the sugar alcohols at all due to gastro effects. I think those bars could be a slippery slope for me, so actually glad I can't eat them.
  • I buy sliced pork belly plain from the butcher and season myself. It doesn't have a smoky flavor because it's not smoked, but that's fine by me.
  • I hope it went well. You're gonna have what I now call "planned diet breaks" to keep sanity in it. If I frame it as cheating, I feel guilty. When I plan for life events, I can get right back to LCHF/keto.
  • Ok. My goals for June are: Maintain my weight loss (65 lbs total since HW of 205 lbs., 42 lbs since starting again in July 2017 at 182 lbs.) in the range of 138 - 142 lbs. Incorporate more strength training, mostly body weight exercises right now. Get back to going to yoga classes. Be able to complete 100 squats…
  • I'd find a new doctor that takes your concerns and either eliminates them or proves them and then helps. Arrogance on his part. That is all I hear when you say he dissed you on that. Have you seen an improvement in your RA since being keto? Maybe you need to push your fat higher and protein just a little lower, like…
  • To add to what others have said about electrolytes, have you had a full blood work up? Meaning, they've checked your free thyroid hormones, Vitamin D, electrolyte levels, iron level, white blood cell count, etc? If all normal, I don't see any reason for alarm. Focus on what you have achieved already. You have lost weight,…
  • I didn't see pork rinds in your list. Easy satisfying snack.
  • My switch is still broken. I've done low carb high fat and keto before and again most recently lost over 40 lbs and am trying out maintenance....again. I have found that I very rarely will experience a sensation of fullness and a switch to stop. Mostly, I think that switch is mental when I haven't logged my food, and I'm…
  • I do keto, and it’s very helpful to me because it helps me keep a calorie deficit more easily than when I eat a lot more carbs (even quinoa, beans, sweet potatoes, and veggies can make me ravenous). Fats satisfy me better than carbs and I have far less cravings for foods (breads, pasta, granola, ice cream, etc.) that…
