Yea - mine is syncing very odd today ..first it gave double calories for my workout - now it's only giving me 100 calories when I burned like 800 ....it shows it on the details page of my calories earned - but doesnt adjust my total - very odd ... just started like an hour ago

I have done a number of comparisons with my Ionic to gym equipment and a standard HR monitor we have here in the house, and for me it's pretty close (within 6-10 bpms) ....
-
I mow my two acres with a push mower .... to get in my steps and calories on my non gym days ..lol

i have relinked like three times now - it syncs once ... but then not again until I re-link it ...

I have had a really weird issue the last two weekends. I wake up and syncing of steps and calorie adjustment works fine, then I go to the gym and get in about 10,000 steps and burn a few hundred calories. For the rest of the day I get no more steps that sync across and the calorie adjustment looks lower than on every other…

Mine still hasn't caught up/sync'd since about 2PM yesterday!

Gorgeous Redhead!

Dna nailed it! For me, I use my Fitbit Charge HR to measure activity, but log all my food(input) in MFP and use it to establish my daily goal. I ALWAYS get a positive adjustment from Fitbit because it includes all calories I burn in a 24 hour period regardless of dedication "Exercise Time". My Fitbit average daily burn…

I believe the OP mentioned she had a FitBit Charge HR - which measures heartrate as well.
-
Right - the Charge HR is constantly (almost) measuring your heart rate and then basing your calorie burn on that. So if all you do is sit on the couch all day, your HR should staying close to resting almost all the time. The more active you are, the higher your HR, the higher the calorie burn.
-
I have a Charge HR too - and yes, if Fitbit is saying your burning ~1900 calories per day, then consuming less calories than that would cause weight loss, the amount below that would determine how much/how quick. It's basically establishing your TDEE for you. However, I have found using MFP to establish my Net Calorie goal…
-
ah - that's my mistake - thanks Sushi I hadnt noticed that ...
-
malibu - i thought it was weird too ... but this calculator just said my TDEE/BMR are the same: http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/
-
Typically, and in line with the MFP approach that 500 would be an adjustment to your daily goal. You have to consider your activity level though too. For example, my TDEE/BMR is 2121, however MFP sets my daily goal to 1490 NET calories. Therefore if all i do is exist, my body should burn 2121 calories per day, and if I…

Yup - I get a big adjustment from Fitbit each day. I use my charge to track my activity (output) and MFP to track my food (intake), so far it has been working well. Most days I eat the majority of the adjustment back, but it depends on the type of activity I did and frankly how hungry it does or doesn't make me. What I…

Gorgeous!! Here are mine after losing 66 lbs:

Should have posted this pic - even a better view....

Yea I agree completely. I find it very easy to keep my HR in fat burn or even push it to cardio when I want to by just walking.
-
I have found walking to be an extremely good alternative to my "normal" workouts. And in fact, I have been combining that with mowing my 2 acres with a push mower instead of my normal workouts on the elliptical and it's been very successful for me so far. I typically walk about 4 miles on days when I don't mow, but on days…

You can do it if your true to yourself - I have tried MANY times before - but this works ..., 66 lbs since June (4.71 stone) - Be honest about measuring your calories (both intake and output) and it will work. You will have good days and tough days .. but it's the trend that matters! Happy to be added as a friend if it…

Yea I too have a fitbit charge and have really done alot of comparisons to see how accurate and so far I think it's spot on. I even wore a polar chest band for a while with my Charge HR on to compare the calories .. and it was pretty darn close. But I think it's all about how careful you are with how you wear the device…

I have had a Fitbit Charge HR since Jan and for a long time I did double measurements. That is I wore a Polar HR chest band/watch monitor while I wore my Charge HR and did both vigorous workouts and less vigorous workouts. For me they were very close together, meaning the Charge was pretty darn close to the Polar HR. This…

Wow! Congrats! Amazing progress!

Just about 60 lbs down since July using this site - I LOVE it!
-
Perhaps I missed it - but do you use a HRM during your workout too or do you just take the "standard" answer from the machine based on your age and weight ? I LOVE my Elliptical, but have found that unless I use my HRM while on it, the machine greatly underestimates my calorie burn. I used a Polar originally, however after…

Outstanding! Congrats on such a huge accomplishment!

I have a fitbit charge and LOVE it! There is actually a Fitbit user group located here: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users
