Looks to me like a great pair of shoes would be the only necessary "running gear" needed...but hey I'm just a beginner so maybe I'm wrong. I can see the benefits of some of the wicking clothing or other gear...but I also see a whole variety of gear runners/joggers are using/wearing so don't see it as a necessity but more a…

Thanks. Yeah I need to do some good stretches, I've been doing these http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_1/126.shtml#wallpush But I'm kinda techno geek so I'm all for an app that has stretches...I'll have to check it out thank you!

I agree. I will probably repeat week 1 anyway...going to stick to walking this week and hope that a week away from c25k helps my back pain go away.
-
Week 1 wasn't bad at all. Day 1 was kinda hard but to be expected since I haven't ran in a decade or two. Day 2 was a little rougher but still not bad. Day 3 with the exception of the slight discomfort/little back pain was good. The weather sucked so I got rained on. I think my problem was running with the slight pain...it…

Good luck with yourself on the program! :)

Thanks. Yeah I could be. I know I plan to slow my walking down if I do walk between the days I'm doing the program. I walk with the local Team RWB twice a week, which so happens to fall in between 2 days I plan to do c25K. I know I'm not walking Sunday at all, and won't either Friday or Saturday (depending on the day I do…

Awesome Job!! I just finished Day 2, week one myself!! You doing c25K with your doggy?
-
Started Monday (Jan 26th), today was Day 2/Week 1. Hoping to get Day 3 in either Friday or Saturday. I walked Tuesday at a very brisk pace so today my legs were feeling like Jello.

It's a sport. I've known lots of people that play it, including a numerous friends. Something I've never tried...but its because I have other expensive hobbies, would want to at least walk when playing (most the people I know do the beer/golf cart type games), and it hasn't interested me enough to try.

Your welcome. Not being close to any VA would make it hard to be in the group. I know our sessions have video conferencing from some locations that don't have VA facilities like here. Don't know if they are small satellite clinics or that they set up the video conferences for the Vets that are too far from the VA hospital…

With the exception of the Physical Education lady...ours has been just class room. When she shows up she makes everyone get up and do something.

Sorry I didn't see you post. Awesome your in it. No the information pretty much isn't new or anything you couldn't find out on the internet...but like you said having people there to discuss things with helps. Plus having the Move staff there to help is good too. I'm in the Move Support Group level now (monthly meeting) .…

Welcome back!! I'm always up for more friends...anyone can add me that wants to. I log daily and try to get on to motivate, inspire and interact with my friends everyday :)

Thank you very much! :)

Thank you very much!! Oh that list isn't necessarily in the order of importance. Some days the order changes depending on my mood, what type day I'm having or other factors. I'm still one that will give credit to others first in helping me before I take credit myself...but that's just me :) By I added you...might bug you…

You know you don't have to be a vet to join Team RWB...we have a few non-vets in our local group.

Did someone say cookies?? :'( Don't mind random stuff at all, i tend to post some random, quirky, non-sense sometimes. I figure we all signed up for MFP for the same basic reasons, but there is also more to us than us wanting to loose, maintain, or gain weight. No reason why that can't be shared too right? I'm always up…

Daily logger, I'm at my half-way mark to my goal weight. Plan to do much more exercise this next year so looking for more friends too..feel free to add me
-
Yeah getting older does make it harder loosing it...you find new pains in places you didn't think you'd have pains when you exercise. I'm just trying to get where I want to be so that I can turn 50 without looking like a total couch potato :) Feel free to add me, I'm on MFP daily

My goals are - hit my goal weight by summer 2015. I'm 44 lbs away from it now, so might actually make it by late spring at the rate I'm going. - Work on strength training....maybe put on some muscle too. - Start running and enter some 5k runs. I'm volunteering to help with two 5K's...one that starts New Years Eve and runs…
