Was wondering if there is anyone here on MFP that has enrolled in the VA's MOVE! Weight Management Program either currently, in the past, or going to in the future??
I attended the introduction class to it and hopefully will be scheduled for further classes next month (I turned in my request to be scheduled for them.
Love to hear how it succeeded or didn't meet your requirements for you.

I started the VA MOVE in November. Been to 5 group meetings. I don't think any of the information is new, but having a group of people to discuss problems and issues is greatest part I think.0

Is it more of a classroom event or actually moving involved?0

Sorry I didn't see you post.
Awesome your in it. No the information pretty much isn't new or anything you couldn't find out on the internet...but like you said having people there to discuss things with helps. Plus having the Move staff there to help is good too. I'm in the Move Support Group level now (monthly meeting) . I'm a little over half-way to my goal.0 -

With the exception of the Physical Education lady...ours has been just class room. When she shows up she makes everyone get up and do something.0 -
I am not very close to any VA so I am just walking 1/4+ mile a day at this time. At least I can do the walking at any time of the day or evening and do walk regardless of temps as long as the road if free of ice. Thanks.

Your welcome. Not being close to any VA would make it hard to be in the group. I know our sessions have video conferencing from some locations that don't have VA facilities like here. Don't know if they are small satellite clinics or that they set up the video conferences for the Vets that are too far from the VA hospital here. Don't even know if the closest VA to you would be able to help you participate from a distance. Their website does have some good info if you want to look at it.

Any bit of walking you can get in will certainly help!! I walk 3 miles on the days I do walk, try walking 3-4 times a day. I've put in 4 miles or 6miles on some days just depends.
I got active with a great group of Vets/Non-Vet supporters called "Team RWB". I'm been active with them going on 3 months and plan to keep active with them.
MyFitnessPal is great too for the support you can get here.
