I agree with the advice to build. If you have the time, the long walks would probably be pretty fun, especially with books on tape/your favorite music. I'm not sure how hilly/flat the terrain is in your area, but when I bike, I never even think about it as exercise. The over feeling...I'd call it freedom. At the end of the…

Go with what makes you comfortable! There's nothing wrong with shorts, if that is your preference. Unless the cheeks are hanging out of the back...? I wear whatever I feel is great for the day - tank, short sleeve shirt, shorts, pants, or whatever. For the record, I've never been to a gym where people really just workout…

Hummus is amazing in tuna salad! I tried it for fun, and I think I like it way better than may, to be honest.

Check out this post, which has links to outside articles: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/367938-women-we-actually-need-more-calories-during-certain-times Basically, you burn a some extra calories at the TOM. I personally tend to go a bit crazy when I interpret hunger as "having a taste for just a few…

I've been going to the gym at alllll hours of the day, just to make sure that I hit my goal of 4 workouts per week. I've lifted at 8 am, and I've lifted at one in the morning. It's helped me bit my one week of gym time before quitting streak from this summer!

I agree with what everyone has said so far! I have been at various weights my whole life, but the activity is what makes the difference. I have always been active, but when I started lifting last year, my body changed quickly and meaningfully. In addition, the activities I was participating in, as well as regular old…

So true! I usually buy boneless, skinless chicken thighs. They are way cheaper than boneless, skinless chicken breasts and super tasty. If you buy them less butchered (with the bone or skin on) and do it yourself, they are even cheaper. I also tend to eat a lot of canned tuna.

I just graduated from college - this is one of my favorite topics  Since I was paying the majority of my day-to-day expenses, it was really important for me to manage my food costs. Here are some of the things I did (and still do): - Weekly Meal Planning: > I plan for breakfast, two different meals, and two…

I'm a little late to the game, but I definitely want to participate! My Goals: 1) Make it under 200 pounds (so I can fit into my work clothes!) 2) Make responsible food choices during my out of town trainings (resort-catered meals for 10 days in August, plus possible future trainings) 3) Stick to my lifting plan (4x/week),…

I'm not far from there now (Woodbridge), and I'll be moving there or into DC in the next few weeks.

Excellent! Congratulations - the mental change can be so much more difficult than the physical sometimes.

Maybe this club should get jackets? 'Excuses for no good reason...no more!' But really, good luck! I am right in the same place you are though. I know what exercises I like (lifting and biking, aka power and freedom) and I know how to make things that I love that help me feel great. I don't always do them consistently…
