  • Thanks I will check it out!
  • I think it is a great idea. I have actually thought of it myself and talked about doing it with a few friends but it never panned out probably due to each of us having obligations and just never being able to all of our ducks in a row and get away at the same time  The plan was to get a cabin at a national park no tvs…
  • Just a thought but you might look at what you are eating. That is where the diary is really nice. You might notice a pattern in your diet that might give you a hint. I am just learning myself (just finished week 4 last night) but I have noticed that sometimes I feel like I am running in mud and sometimes I feel like I am…
  • Just more information... from my experience and especially important if you are eating calories back. When I started I was using the calories burned from my treadmill. Then I got a heart rate monitor and sports watch and the calories burned were significantly lowed with the heart rate monitor estimate.
  • I row, it is still aerobic and it is a whole body workout....
  • I run on the treadmill also. I use the Zombie 5k app and it gives the options of whether you are holding your phone or in an arm band or you pocket. I only used that part of the app once though so I don't know how accurate it is. I didn't like any of those options so I bought some Bluetooth earbuds (the wire drove me crazy…
  • Knee started acting up had to layoff a few days but back again and NO PAIN! 11/8 - 3.1 mi
  • I just got a Garmin Forerunner 310xt this week. I went with the Garmin because I wanted it for HRM but I also wanted the GPS for hiking. I cant really say how I like it yet but I will say that it is hard to figure out how to use it. It is my first fitness watch so maybe I should have started with a simpler model? I took it…
  • Thanks for all the great information. I have started the Zombie version of the c25k. It has been over 5 years since I have run for health and weight loss. I went to fast too soon last time and ended up with a torn meniscus and stress fracture. Fortunately the doctor did a great job repairing the tear and thankfully I…
  • Aug 4 - 2.7 miles
  • Hi, I have been doing the Zombie Run 5K app. I run on a treadmill and I have bluetooth earbuds and I haven't found a comfortable place for my phone so I just lay it on the treadmill. As a result it doesn't measure my steps at all. I did not think it mattered I was just using it as triggers to tell me when to run and…
  • Aug 1: Rest Day Aug 2: 3 miles Aug 3: Rest Day
  • Thank you for the post. I have been looking for a breakfast (preferable oatmeal) option that did not take a great deal of time to prepare in the morning before work. I believe this will really work for me!
  • No it doesn’t sound crazy it sounds like me… First off I see a lot of me in what your have posted so what I am going to say is my own observations of myself and I am posting it on the off chance that it might also apply to you but only you know if it does or not so if it doesn’t apply just ignore it and maybe it will help…
  • I'm In! I am a newbie and also technologically challenged so lets see if I can follow instructions  Just started the c25k a couple of weeks ago and I have signed for a fun run 5k in Sept. so my goal is 40 miles.
  • Thank you all for the helpful information. I was leaning toward a garmin because I want the HRM for working out but I wanted the garmin for hiking. Looking at some of the reviews (even at the suggested link on the womens list) Garmin after some useage has some issues not aquiring satelites for the GPS. Some of the amizon…
  • Hopefully you will allow me to use the term "runner" loosely. I use to run a few years ago and I had knee trouble/surgery and tried for a little while to get back but running and being over weight sometimes equals knee problems. SO I like to run and I am starting off slowly this time trying to lose the weight as I go so…
  • Holy Smokes Batman... 15-20 miles a week is awesome. I am also struggling with the activity part of the program. I have a seditary job and a 30 min. commute each way. I don't watch alot of tv but reading is my vice (give me a good book and I can disappear all day) plus I will start classes again in a couple of weeks so…
  • Good Morning, I am late 40's and single and new to this. The reason I joined was for support and accountability so I'm all in... add me :glasses:
