Very impressive! Kudos!

Haven't had more than a sip of wine in the last 79 days as a tasting, spit it out when done. So yes, and it's easy, just remove it from the house and stop buying it. Try another stress relief method for dealing with kids\work\family\etc. I suggest pushups!

Keep in mind this is only certain pickles, for example all the "sweet" kinds have added sugars or other sweeteners which means 30+ cals per serving vs 20- cals per serving. Focus your hunger on Kosher Dill and Deli\NY Sour-type pickles. Also, low-calorie foods add up.

"It's genetics" No it isn't, it's (1) a need for lower bodyfat and (2) a need for stronger (and thus thicker & more visible) abdominals. GuitarJerry, you've got the beginnings of visible abs in one of your pictures and by continuing to lower your bodyfat percentage and increase the strength (and thus thickness) of your…

If you want visible abs you need to lose bodyfat by eating and\or exercising into a caloric deficit. Alcohol adds calories, and can impact kidney and liver function (which means reduced elimination, which means slower weight loss), but otherwise will not magically stop you from having a 6-pack.

Check out Bodybuilding.com and its forums. Lot of pro (IFBB, WFBB) gainers actively use the site.

General tips to simplifying weight loss: * Figure out your calorie needs at rest (Harris Benedict, Katch McArdle - whatever it is, pick one and stick with it); subtract 500 cals to aim for for 1lb weight loss per week * Update the above equation every 10lbs lost because calorie needs keep going down as you lose weight *…

Your doctor said you're IR and prescribed you 3 slices brown bread a day? Even ignoring the rest, find another doctor.

Eat more than your body needs to maintain + lift heavy = gain muscle. Done.

When I joined MFP I didn't really bother with serious research on anyone who hadn't lost at least 75lbs, since my goal was to lose 100lbs. Chatted with a lot of folks, learned plenty along the way, but learned considerably more from those people with my start and end points. What I'm suggesting is that you find people who…

Without knowing her bodyfat percentage we have no clue if it is fine or not. For a 228lbs human at an estimated 30% BF (guessing based on "not being at fighting weight") who is sedentary we're looking at a maintenance of roughly 2320 Calories daily. This means she's looking at 1820 Cals per day at a 500 Cal deficit…

You're male. We have it easier when it comes to weight loss.

There are no secrets.

Have you tried Coke Zero? It's actually pretty good!

Peanut butters generally have 2g fat per 1g protein. They're a good source of both. Reading "I don't have time" and "I don't have the inclination" is more concerning than what to put on your bagel. Fix those problems first.

If your strength has also increased, then you're adding muscle (whether you can see it or not), which weighs more by volume than fat does. If you're unsure as to whether or not your strength has increased, consider safely lifting to your maximum. Maybe use a spotter as well so you don't drop a weight on your toe. ;)

I'm at 1510 a day right now, down 9.2lbs in 17 days. I love cooking and I love food, but I would strongly urge anyone who is eating against a plan to maintain consistency in their eating. For one, this removes the need to constantly look up foods or try and shift breakfast\lunch\dinner plans around. For two, eliminating…

If you're a male dieting to lose weight and your weight fluctuates every day instead of consistently decreasing, you're probably falling into any one of a number of traps such as:* Not actually tracking your food intake * Consuming way too much (i.e. several or many grams vs a couple) sodium * Shouldering too much stress…

Stand on the scale in a comfortable and normal position (don't push your feet out or in, just stand as you normally would). Have someone take a permanent marker and outline your feet on the scale. Now regardless of the scale troubles you will always stand on the same spot every time.

Nice work man, really nice work. Shifting eating habits is hard enough, doing it with your brain telling you to be ashamed of yourself is 2x the trouble. I know. Random clip here but maybe it helps - I had a very similar hernia about 18 months back. Took a visit to the Dr, schedule surgery for a few weeks out, stay home…

I'm cold all the time, and every 10lbs I lose I get colder. I'm not complaining, I just wear layers :D

Sorry Blackscorpion, but the only person I kiss is my wife!

I love catcalls. Yes, I know I'm hot, and thank you for recognizing it too - you're only human after all!

Uh.. It's TELEVISION, and it's FAKE.

Never. I can make better subs for less money using this thing called "the supermarket". Also I know for a fact that the Subway nutrition menu splits bread out into its own section. That 300 calorie sub is probably more like 500 calories. Maybe more. I believe condiments are also in their own section.

12-22lbs in 4 weeks? No. No and hell no. Figure out your intake requirements to lose weight, track your intake over the next 4 weeks, and safely lose 4-6lbs. Then throw on some Spanx or some other "shaping" clothes and don't worry about it.
-
I lost like 4lbs.

Do less exercises but with more weight. You're trying to build muscle to shape up your glutes. Increased strength has both direct and indirect correlations to increased muscle size. Conversely, doing a ton of bum exercises like you're doing just trains muscle endurance. Do less exercises but with more weight. Specifically…

Cow milk is actually amazingly good for you. #4 is completely false as well. Anyway... try soy, almond, or rice milk. Don't ask here - just go out and try them and see which you like best.
