I am almost 5 months post op. At my 3 month NUT appt. she set my carb limit to 87g and protein 65-75g to which she said was based on my current stats. I go back in May, I am sure that will change. She also said to get carbs from fruit and beans and to avoid bread and pastas. Can you contact your program NUT, she should be…

I have a Trek hybrid as well and love it! I recently bought a Trek road bike and cannot wait to ride it once the weather breaks. I agree, go to a reputable bike shop. They will fit you for the size of frame you need and also adjust the seat height which is important. In my area we have The Bike Doctor, which is where I…

Excellent post! I really needed to read this. At this point in my journey I am scared to death to stop logging. It keeps me accountable. I still have the fear of regaining haunting me! I really do need and like the security the logging gives me. At 3 months out I can eat a bit more and have more choices! At this point I am…

Congratulations on your year of success! Don't dwell on the 10 lbs you have left, look at it as 80 lbs gone and size 8 is fantastic! ...your determination will pay off!

For me the first week post-op was liquids only, I did water, crystal light and broth, then 2 weeks of protein shakes only, then soft foods for 2 weeks which for me consisted of yogurt, SF pudding with protein powder, eggs, egg salad, tuna salad, thin cream of wheat and oatmeal to which I added chocolate almond butter by…

I know exactly what you mean, I've been going to a clubin' cardio class for a few years. I love the class and the instructor, After New Years, the class is so crowded until around March!

My NSV is that I can walk up the steps holding something in both hands and not need to use the railing. Pre surgery I could only hold something in one hand since I needed to use the railing to help pull myself up each step

I am not at 3 months yet(I'm at 7 weeks post-op), but I thought I would share... I have tried a small amount of lettuce, tomatoes and almonds. All sat well with my stomach. I made sure I chewed very well and only tried a small amount at first. My plan also suggests waiting until 3 months for salad, at my 1 month appt. I…

I think on iPhone and iPad the only way in is via the browser as I also do not have community option on the app on either.. i hope MFP updates the app for Apple devices soon!
-
You look fantastic!
-
I have the app on my iPhone, I emailed MFP and at this time you cannot get to the group discussion from the app only from the browser. It is a big inconvenience for me!
-
Looking good!

That is awesome!

Eating out and parties to me now is a social activity and not all about the food. It is a nice positive change! I have been out with friends and family early on after surgery having only broth. Hubby had a bit of a problem with me eating next to nothing, but that is his issue
-
Oh yes we have had some spats over food! Hubby does not feel guilty in eating what he wants, but we went out to eat for the first time post-op and all I could have is broth. He tells me he does not want to go out to eat with me if all I can have is soup broth or a few bites of something. He also went on to say that it is…

Awesome! Congratulations on your progress...You look great!

Being only 5 weeks post-op I was wondering the same. When will the hunger return? Currently, I have no desire to eat and have to sometimes force myself to do so. I have no desire for sweets like I used to. I like this...LOL I am using this time to develop good habits and prepare for the hunger and head hunger when and if…

I am still in the "honeymoon" stage, on the pink cloud being 5 weeks post-op. Last week-end my daughter and I baked up a storm of holiday treats and It amazes me that I do not have the desire to eat or even taste any od it! I know this too will pass in the months to come, but I am enjoying it while it lasts. i am greatful…

Yup, I too find the food diary on MFP to be very easy and useful. I started using on my 2 pre-op diet..it is a good habit to get into!
-
Glad to hear you are feeling good and all went well.

My plan also required a mental health professional referral. It did help to talk to someone one on one, but I read this book called Weight Loss Surgery: The real skinny and it helped me the most! It talks about the emotions, changes, limits of the surgery and weight management that preceded and follow surgery. It is a…

My surgery was on 11.12. I am still in week 1 which is the clear liquid phase. I have a 20 oz bottle that I use to measure how much I drink. If I drink 3 of these, I am good. Along with broth etc.. Follow your surgeons plan, stock up on what you are allowed to have and what you like from the list...best of luck to you!

Good luck to you..My surgery was 11/12. You are doing great!. This site is fantastic for support and tracking.
